I agree. I liked how in one of his videos of him sparing one of his fighters, he didn't go all out, but instead took it slow while still giving him work. At one of the gyms I fight at, they beat the hell out of the beginners and that's why a lot of people stopped coming. Wish I had a coach like this when I started lol

JT Van V I've been watching your videos over a month and I'm doing much better in my sparring. The guy that I spar is a very promising heavyweight he's 23 years old, 6'2 250lbs with great footwork. The man is a beast and very humble which is more terrifying. Your videos improved my offense. Now I need to work on my footwork, head movement and cardio. Thank You for your videos!! I wish you all the best.

JT Van V At my gym the trainers really emphasis a snap back come back by moving back and then back in and then countering. All of the good fighters at my gym are really good at doing that it works for them. It's hard to get them to bite on a feint too because they'll snap back like that every time you feint them
@MoustermindTCG9 жыл бұрын
Knockout Boxer One technique you could use agaibst them is to feint and then throw a body shot when they lean back - no sense in going to the head if the head isn't there. I'm sure you're doing well already though :)

Good stuff. Im no boxer, but if i ever get into a fistfight with a southpaw, boom! Shovelhook baby. I like how you describe it in steps & it makes perfect sense. the last part with the snap back, counter, drop, pivot, step ... seems to be a good way to exit out of a corner, especially if they trying to cut off the ring on you, which an inside fighter should be doing.

The secret that I have learned the hard and best way, is never hang around for too long. Always be water as often as possible.

thank u thank u thank u , I really needed those. PS, JT, almost forgot, when you do that retreat at exactly 1:13, when you have all your weight on your rear leg - HOW DO YOU do that "hop" back? Do you bounce of your rear leg backwards, an then bringing your left leg along, or how??? I have trouble in sparring when opponents keeps pressing me and I go into philly shell and lean way back on my rear leg, I cant take a step backward with that rear leg because all of my weight rests on it.
@PrecisionBoxing9 жыл бұрын
Srdjan Teofilovic When the weight is on the back leg you push off the back leg. its a gallop. Its one of those things that's hard to teach at first, but once you get it you will know it's so easy to do. Try this drill, its the same move but only sideways - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX-8nH2ufLuSgKt1lso I teach all of this footwork in my footwork instructional video - www.precisionstriking.ca/product/boxing-footwork-instructional-video/

@PrecisionBoxing9 жыл бұрын
DanielOmega23 its gonna take some time to develop this move, it won't come all at once. Skipping and footwork are good. Another is to balance on the ball of your foot like you are doing a one legged calf raise. touch a wall lightly for balance. 30 seconds at a time

@PrecisionBoxing9 жыл бұрын
tom sled If you keep your left hand high then it will take some of the heat off the overhand right, or if you roll the shoulder and tilt back like in my other video. It's harder to escape the overhand right by snapping back, at least i find it that way.

Hey I have a question. I am right handed but in boxing, I can throw far more powerful punches with my left hand. I just dont feel the power in my right hand. Is this bad?
@PrecisionBoxing9 жыл бұрын
Murat Sahin not really, because a lot of people usually have the other experience of no power in the lead hand. Most power from the rear hand comes from fast rotation of the shoulders, bending the knees and perfect range, meaning don't be stuck too close to the target. Work on that and your power should improve, also check out this video here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rojGaZVppZuefqM You are lucky to have power in the lead hand.
