Though there is the story of that one version of that creature that wants the nids decided not to eat a planet, Stuck around and just screwed with the local governor by dropping dead bodies in front of his door on a daily basis to the point where it was a constant occurrence that became an annoyance to the local planetary governor

I was NOT expecting that, I even thought to myself, why would that Lictor leave them alive if they were isolated? Now it makes sense why the old lady said; "I knew this day would come", she can't be 2nd generation as she is old and has "human" appearance, she is probably of the original human population that got infected with the genestealer's kiss and reproduced, I am glad to see that after Plague Song ramped it up, it did get better. Yup it adds to the horror because someone who isn’t privy to the lore would initially just see these people as a ragtag group trying to survive the grimdark being caught in the crossfire of an oppressive imperium and uncaring alien hordes, nope their true nature is insidious, equally as frightening to consider that the genestealers were already well imbedded in the local guard forces. Part of me can’t help but feel sorry for those regular humans in the crowd if they weren’t already infected because they truly don’t know what’s at stake and their perceived fight for ascension is in truth them destroying everything they could’ve ever loved. I do wonder how they were perceiving the invasion, like when that lictor leaves them alone what would they see it as? Some angelic person with golden flowing hair?

Lictor wouldn’t waste time or effort to kill a bunch of random unimportant civilian tbh Lictor is all about maximizing effectiveness by killing or sabotaging key peoples/infrastructure. There’s few(ish) of them in an hive fleet so they make the best use of their enhanced abilitied compared to other Nids types Even if they were actual civis and not GS, why would it kill them? They are likely to die in the invasion anyway, its not like the other nids will leave survivors

The lictor isn't going to murder everything on his path, it's an assassin, if you pay attention, he's going toward the evac center, where one can assume that the planetary defense force's HQ might be (or at least one command post), it's on mission, sow confusion and disrupt communications lines.

I love the insidiousness of the Genestrealer cults. I feel they're more dangerous than chaos cults. When I saw the Lictor pause for a moment, then skitter away, that made me pause and consider what was going on.When the guardsman set off the concealed explosive, that immediately told me we were dealing with Genestealers and this was a planet in a full uprising. An excellent episode. A seamless genre transition from survival horror to just horror. It was a bit surprising to see cultists trying to escape their gods, but I suppose the Hivemind gave them alternative instructions: the "refugees" are meant to slip the net and use the change to infest a different planet. That purestrain baby is going to become a new Patriarch and start the cycle again, offering more targets to the Swarm. All Genestealer plots are "Generations in the making", but I don't recall seeing this spreading strategy before. The Hivemind is adapting further.

But wonderfull episode my second favourite, because chapter 9 with the final scene with trazyn for me was the best, and it followed a similar dynamic to this episode (we are presented with a group that will be the protagonist, the chaos terminators/the family the we aee introduced to an objective clear to the protagonist that they must persue eladar artifact/the ship to escape, and at the end there is a twist with a concept or character that wasn't openlly showed in the rest of the episode trazyn/geneastealer explaining some details through the episode that seem ackward, things changing out of nothing/the behavior of the family and other characters as well as the tyranids

I always find strange that on Warhammer the man of iron revolt happened but the league of Vooltan who use AI don't have any problems and they have the same origin... in 40k humanity is a dick from the beginning... Erm, not really, I am certain it's just like how we players have control groups for different armies. Control group 1 ground armies and have them rush in. Control group 2 air armies and have them rush in. Control group 3 heavy ground armies and have them rush in. Spend the most of the time micro-managing Control group 4 with that genestealer families.

My issue with seeing lasgun in most of these things is that they are potrayed as blasters like starwars. When really they are beam weapons, same thing with Las Cannons which are just bigger beam weapons that connect the target and the cannon with a line of light. The ammo clip isn't filled with shells or actual ammo, its supposed to be a power pack that's it. Thus a las gun wouldn't be able to technically jam. A faulty wiring or a need of a quick on off switch on the rifle would make sense. The game Darktide actually has that feature slightly in, where when you use a lasgun it shows the gunner flicking a switch on prior to the rifle being able to fire.

when the husband say as the start that he know an unvasion is coming and that he know it "from family" , i just understant what this "family" is. Just as when the mother is saying "we'll be protected" to this news she refer to the tyranids that won't kill them, but since it would certainly be the case they need to flee the planet. Or even the great mother saying "i knew this dat would come", since she us certainly from the first generation of cultist and so awara that an invasion would come. This episode was really so good and full of details that you understand only at the end, everything the family said make sense with them being cultist.

It was a pretty clever redo of a interesting perspective, the fact that the only straight shot we had of the baby was from a POV 1:55 (Untill the end) was a dead ringer for GSC. The cult lore is usually the best when it highlights how they take advantage of the humanity of their victims

This is why as soon as you see a sizeable genestealer invasion you just hit the planet with the exterminatus button. You kill the genestealers and destroy alot of biomass the hive fleet would absorb. Im guessing its easier to rebuild after orbital bombardment then trying to rebuild after the tyranids take everything

As soon as they said about an invasion near the start i thougt Nids. Then seeing the green goggles guy in the crowd i knew GSC. Thought the sister would be part of the cult but didnt expect the family. The gaurd who blows up the ships planned that too. In Day of Ascension the genestealers are allowed to leave in small numbers to start the process in another olanet. Reminds me of I am Legend where the 'bad guys' are monstrous to us but look like angels to each other

What a twist that sticks a dagger into your lower abdomen, your compassion would doom you and the very next planet the ship landed on. Showing you your human nature would not last longer than a week in the Warhammer Universe and would likely get others killed as well. This kind of story shows how a planet like Krieg can yield so many top quality soldiers, because of how this planet meets its end, they know how genestealers can destroy an entire planet. Krieg soldiers have accepted their tiny place in the cruel cold blooded universe and they will fight for the survival of the Human Race and it's place in it. Now I'm going to have to watch this series! Thanks for sharing, I'm a noob to the Warhammer universe but I do enjoy the stories from it.

I have to admit, I didn’t see that twist coming. The baby appearing human for most of the episode, while really being a tyranid, reminds me of the Dr Who episode where the Dr(Matt Smith), and sidekicks(Emily and Rory), went to the Dalek asylum planet, where the Daleks, including a converted version of the “Impossible Girl” (Clara), appeared human, but were actually just perceived that way, being Daleks the whole time.
