A Star Is Born comes next and is a must. Even though it’s a movie soundtrack, it’s all original music from Lady Gaga featuring Bradley Cooper. The song Shallow is currently the most awarded song in history! They both did an incredible job acting in the film as well. In the film, all of the songs in every scene are sung live bc Gaga is not a fan of lip syncing. She believes in always singing live.

when you said "i think lady gaga's aunt would have wanted her to go as hard as john wayne" i think it applies to all songs, each being its own poem. In fact, much of the criticism for Joanne was the fact that it didnt sound cohesive enough but keeping in mind that the inspiration of the project is artistry and lyrism it ties everything together. Its refreshing when people like you really try to understand the thoughts behind each song and the projects as a whole.

Her collaborations with Mr Tony Bennett (Cheek to Cheek - 2014 and Love for Sale - 2021) are definitely worth a listen. These two aren't as talked about as much, but I find them true gems that showcase her versatility. Especially knowing how much she enjoys singing jazz and classical music, given that she''s classically trained in musicianship, I believe you'll enjoy listening to them as well.

A Star is Born is great. It is one of the peaks of her career and has some of the most beautiful songwriting on it. She was extremely involved in putting the soundtrack together. It has the most awarded song in all of music history with 'Shallow', and imo that is not even the best song on the soundtrack. Cheek to Cheek is all jazz standards which shows her versatility and has some of her best recorded vocals. It was a jazz record that sold somewhere in the ballpark of over 700,000 copies (pure sales) in 2014. Her fans dismiss this record because it's not the dance pop music they want from her, but it was a great accomplishment that made her a better and more well-rounded artist.
