Elvis recorded this song and nobody could get the guitar part right, so he fetched for Jerry, found him fishing and brought him into the studio to play the part - you know you that good when the KING calls you!

Yea, all true, but fact is all's Elvis's boys had to do was change the tuning to drop D but, actually, they'd probably still not know what to do because Jerry's picking style was on a level even professional studio musicians couldn't reach without a few more years of practice.

Jerry Reed wrote this song. Elvis heard Jerry's 'Guitar Man' and then Jerry got a phone call from Elvis asking him if Elvis can record the song and for Jerry to play the guitar part exactly like how Jerry wrote and recorded it on the original record. It's pretty cool.
