*It is not a proxy war* I wish the media would do its homework. Per the Budapest Agreement signed in 1994 between Russia, Ukraine, USA, Great Britain, the USA is bound by Agreement to aid Ukraine. Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons to Russia after the fall of the USSR in exchange for security border guarantees. The Agreement identified Ukraine as a sovereign nation. The USA and GB are obligated by the Agreement to assist in this war because Russia broke the Agreement. This has nothing to do with NATO, and everything about living up to a contractural agreement.

UKRAINE WAR Cos this war indeed happen 8 years ago since me is a Malaysian or the same year, MH17 tragedy happen. When right or wrong cannot stand as conclusion mean win or lose must be used to force out an outcome or how war happen. However, there has been an interesting development lately, whereby the US defence secretary has managed to get in touch with its counterpart in Russia. I want to be speculative and in my mind the Russians maybe trying to reach out to the US for a possible scenario in which putin is gone. Still in my mind I can imagine a conversation of a deal between the two parties: US: "After you have done your job you pull out of Ukraine and re-boot your country" Russia: "Yea but then you get us out of sanctions".

More important than Putin is the control he has over the Russian people. I’ve watched a lot of these “person on the street” interviews with Russians and repeatedly they all show these things. 1. A fear to speak their minds. 2. A downtrodden attitude, like they’re the world’s victims and this seems to translate into an exaggerated self confidence. Example, we’re so big a land mass, we have the most natural resources, we have the biggest and best nukes, we’re right and the world is wrong, NATO wants to hurt us, the USA wants to hurt us, the UK wants to hurt us etc, etc. 3. Although they see some information, they have no idea how much devastation (crimes) their country is causing. 4. The majority believes what their media and government tell them, regardless of the total lack of logical sense. Examples. Dozens of countries who fought the Nazis repeatedly say there are no Nazis throughout in Ukraine, but Russians ignore all those countries and instead believe the Kremlin. They believe this “special operation” nonsense and the Kremlin’s“low casualty numbers” while not seeming to recognize Russia committed a massive invasion targeted at Kiev. Etc etc.

Rather than be distressed by the lack of progress in the war in Ukraine, the generals should be more distressed about the disastrous decision to invade the nation in the first place. That's how any sane and well-balanced person would think and feel. And now Putin has put himself and Russia into a corner and having to find a way to minimize the mounting humiliation and the prospect of War Crimes tribunal. Putin is much like Trump in that both have HUGE ego problems and feelings of insecurity. Unable to admit mistakes or be introspective and humble.

I know, since Ukraine is getting western help now too it's impossible for them to succeed in ukraine, not even if they put in all their forces. It's only gonna much more dead russian soldiers & severe cost for economy & military. Most seem to be scared of putin tho & who is well protected with personal army. High diplomats or officers probalby don't want to risk their own life to overthrow him, but who knows. Since putin is paranoid he protects himself, however i read he's terminally ill so hopefully he dies soon & new head of russia stops this useless war, Alltho a lot of ignorant russians & other still support putin, another leader would probably just withdraw from ukraine. it would also make the economy relive itself, there's so little, almost nothing to gain for russia in ukraine. And I don't think putin would go as far as throwing Nukes, since that's not in russian doctrine to use in that case & would have consequences again..

Nuking Ukraine won't spell defeat for Russia, Ukraine isn't a member of NATO and let's face it, no one is willing to unleash WWIII with Russia over Ukraine. If Russia does decide to take the ultimate step and use tactical nukes against them the rest of the world and the West especially will speak of outrage and unleash the harshest of sanctions against Russia, but that's it really, the West won't retaliate against Russia with nukes of their own, that's guaranteed. And honestly you can't blame the West for that either, why retaliate with nukes of their own over a single country who isn't even part of their closest allies anyway and while knowing Russia would then nuke back the West, who would then use strategic nukes against Russia, who would then use strategic nukes against the West, and it all spirals out into full scale nuclear holocaust and the end of humanity.
