It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book kzbin.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

I really like the extractor fan. And that's a decent kitchen. I am genuinely impressed. I like the gambrel roof. This would work in all but the snowiest areas, which need steeply pitched roofs. And I like his grandfather's stained glass fish window! I think this is the single best "tiny house" I have seen.

I absolutely wouldn't ever go with any other roof style but this especially in a tiny area! Out of all the tiny homes I've looked at ( 100's)...hands down yours is the best!!! Would have loved to have seen you go with a more traditional wood barn stain instead of the electric blue heavy paint...just my own personal preference but there's something about the paint and or color that really gives me a strong feeling of "suffocation". Why...not really sure but definitely a very "encased heavy feel" to the painted areas only. The roofs great...love the door! Overall you two did a wonderful job!! Bravo.

It's great to see a tiny home in BC! It's my dream to one day have a tiny home but BC seems like a difficult place to make it work with the climate, high cost of materials, and high cost of land. It would be nice to own a piece of land to truly make my own rather than renting. We'll see how it goes. Maybe in 10 years I'll have my own tiny home.
@d.colbert68696 жыл бұрын
Right there with you on that sentiment & plan, Amanda! Seems like waiting forever to me but it's doable! Hope you achieve it, truly I do. And I'll keep trying to.

Love this tiny house! They put a lot of thought into it and made it very convenient for their lifestyle. Finally someone has a real shower and bathroom that is practical and has space to move around in. I like their loft to, doesn’t look to claustrophobic and cramped. It used for just sleeping, with a nice sunroof. Sit in area is also nice. One of the best tiny houses that I seen! 😊

If you're going to spend the money you may as well make something you want to live in. This is one of the nicest I've seen. I'm wondering though if there isn't an alternative to propane because I hate the stuff, and almost every tiny house I've seen uses it.
@TinyHouseGiantJourney8 жыл бұрын
+Thubten Yeshe a lot of tiny houses want to keep their electrical load low. Heat is a very inefficient way to use electricity, propane works a whole lot better for it! Makes it a lot easier for people to be off grid or to minimize their electrical draw to be able to plug into a standard outlet vs a high amperage RV plug (which most standard houses aren't equipped with). It's just the easy alternative for creating heat.
@KitsuneNeko8 жыл бұрын
+Thubten Yeshe For heat you might have a stone/pebble fire place/oven thing I've seen people use in Alaska. But you'd have to make sure it's all fire safe. The rocks can be dangerous if you have small children or too curious pets. When you stoke a fire it heats the rocks/pebbles which stay warm even after the fire goes out. But it might be too heavy for a mobile tiny home... but I'm not sure. The ones I've seen were rather small but they could heat up a medium sized cabin... bigger then a tiny home but smaller then an "average" home.
@Noriana268 жыл бұрын
+Tiny House Giant Journey My quarrel with propane is that it fuels the natural gas and fossil fuels industry. I'd really love my future tiny to be able to be totally green and renewable. I wonder if solar panels would be able to store up enough juice to heat a tiny?

What a lovely home :) ... 2016, do wonder how they are doing now, if they are still living in it, and if not why not, what they liked/learned during those 4y and whether they would do something differently ... i mostly like the roof btw. i'm thinking of building a 'small/tiny house' as just regular construction (but 7m by 3.4m) with exactly this type of roof, because it give a lot of space while still providing a pitch for water to go down... It's also a great way to create more pitches for solar panels, seeing as the more northern you get the most optimal solution is actually 2 pitches, for summer and winter. And if you know where you you'd be staying you can somewhat choose the two pitches of the roof to be the most optimal in the times you are there (even more so if you stay there all the time).

Wow, that’s interesting. I’ve never left my shoes on in someone’s house, I would feel so disrespectful. I would freak if someone wore shoes in my house too, it’s a big no no where I live in Canada. It’s just a given. Maybe it’s location dependant but I’ve gone my entire life with that just being a social norm. I remember travelling to Ireland and people telling me it was fine to keep my shoes on when they had lovely carpets, it gave me heart palpitations!! Lol 😂

I'd eliminate the expense of the loft and just sleep downstairs. I like the windows in the sitting area. The kitchen would be more efficient with a lower corner carousel cupboard.
