Amy wrote it for the harp. You can sort of hear the tumbling music that's harp like. The probably the band started playing the song faster and faster. Amy could no long play is on the harp because of it (yes Amy plays the harp) so she used her old piano.

1 - Amy lee definitely writes all the lyrics of the songs 2 - The thing that I love about Evanescence is the fact that: Even though the songs are mostly in minor keys and tackle tough emotions, the theme of their music is OVERCOMING those emotions and moving on. It's the journey to the light through the darkness. For instance: The opening to the new album Artifact/The Sun + Broken Pieces Shine is about going through something terrible (the loss of her brother, etc) and being caught up in the grief.. but then Broken Pieces Shine has this 3-2-1 moment, where you decide to GET BACK UP after you've been knocked down. To seek the light in life through the grief.

One of my faves, not because of the rock ability, but because of the subject, her lyrics, and emotion. Their second album (Sweet Sacrifice,Call Me When You're Sober,Lithium,etc) was the one where she and Terry Balsamo (guitarist with the long dreds) wrote all of it. The third one I think everyone got involved. The new one, everyone also pitched in.

Amy wrote this song about being trapped in a bad situation. The inspiration was watching victims of sex trafficking when she was helping Restore New York. She wrote all the lyrics. The music they create together as a band. You guys should watch Good Enough the only video from the second album you don't react. It's not heartbreaking it's about her husband and the feeling of finaly accepting something good. 💜

Fire reaction again. This is one of my favorite songs and music videos. This song is actually about sex trafficking and her perspective as if she was the one that was in the sex trafficking. This one is extremely powerful. All of Evanescence music I feel is powerful however; this one in particular will make you feel deep. It’s called “Like You” it’s from their second album “The Open Door”. Amy wrote this in honor of her sister who died when Amy was 6yrs old. Their song “Hello” is about her too, but this one it’s like you feel the stages of grieving listing to this one. It’s a lyrical video, but I promise it will not disappoint. It’s interesting that you mentioned that this wasn’t one of your favorites because a lot of the fans feel like on this record and the most recent they lost some of what made them super special. That being said as with most of her songs they’re written about multiple things so they can be taken in multiple ways which is such a brilliant thing about her songwriting. Part of the inspiration for the song was restore NYC. It’s about rescuing sex trafficking victims. While the overt feeling of a song is about relationship heartbreak if you relisten to it thinking about that a lot of it takes on a much darker tone. Love the reactions as always.
