We brought in a stray cat when I was a kid named Skitty (because we was skittish). My dad used to call him "Skitty the Seven Dinner Kitty" because he would hit up all the houses in the neighborhood. As for Scooby, I doubt anyone else was able to connect with him like this family. They were putting out food and visiting him, which is probably why he's so healthy looking. I wouldn't be surprised though if others in the neighborhood were leaving food/shelter out.

@@white_tiger9298 Pitts are amazingly smart and sadly they are frequently dumped and left in shelters. The media has hyped and butchered the truth. They're very strong and loyal animals. Sadly I think that in the wrong hands they can be abused. I feel once they start to reach their potential and people see how incredibly strong they are. I feel sometimes people become fearful and dump them. The failure to train them properly does them a great disservice... I have a red nose pitbull who is about 120 lb, still growing and nothing but pure muscle. He has no idea he's supposed to be vicious. He thinks he's a lap dog. My cat bosses him around.

We moved a few miles to a new home same city. Had two cats. Did what vet suggested, moved them in a closed box, kept them inside for a whole week, draperies closed. Day 8, they both go missing. Get a call the next day saying, "Um, I have two cats here, somehow they got in and I found them asleep on my bed when I got home. They both have collars on with tags and your number on them." I said "Is one grey striped, and the other orange?" "Yep." Turns out cats are loyal to their locale, not owner. SMH!!! ((( =^••^= )))

I’ve followed their story on tiktok since they started trying to take Scooby in. He’s been living on their property and sleeping in the woods. They would leave food out for him. He’s only about a year old and a half and he was on their property for quite some time. They also don’t really have neighbors. Doesn’t seem like a very densely populated area, so the likelihood of scooby having another home nearby is slim. They believe that he was dumped nearby so he was probably being fed by whoever had him prior to dumping him, and fed by them thereafter

@@chelseas.horizon2222 The coat matters. Where I live, the winters are brutal and most people who have short-haired dogs here put a fleece/coat and slippers (when it’s snowy and icy) on their dogs. These short-dogs who are not evolved for cold weather (lacks a double coat/ dense longer fur or hair/ fur between toes) don’t fair well out in the cold for long periods of time.
