I kinda feel bad for Janine but I think she could have been a little bit kinder with Joey about Chandler and Monica. She knows how much they mean to him. I think she could have handled the whole situation just a little bit better than she did.

Tbh, I wish she and Joey hadn't got together. I liked that she didn't see him that way and wish they hadn't just randomly had her change her mind and then be made the bad guy. They did the same with Danny in S5 with him not really showing interest in Rachel while she's obsessing over him, then he goes out with her and suddenly he's got a weird relationship with his sister. That's a problem I have with a lot of shows tbh. Having a love interest for a main character who is around for a while and is perfectly normal, then they just don't know what to do with them anymore (especially if they take a while to get tgether...) and so they do a sudden personality change and get rid of them. Phoebe's boyfriend the cop, he was totally normal (as normal as one of Phoebe's LI's can be...) then they move in together and he instantly shoots a bird? It always comes off kinda lazy to me... Sorry for the long reply... 🤣

The Friends writers sucked at writing breakups. They love making the character they want to get rid of have a 180 personality turn for the worse. Remember Pete? UFC aspiration lol what? Phoebe cop boyfriend, random bird scoping for no reason. I bet there's 1 or 2 others I'm forgetting but now here's the latest with Janine. Nice girl throughout, even invited any of Joey's friends to the New Years Ball event which is pretty exclusive and VIP it seems that it would look bad on her if the guests she invited embarrassed her and yet she took the risk to invite them. But now all of a sudden she hates half of Joey's friend group? Friends writers had some awful writing when it came to breakups that's for sure.

I just think it came out of left field a bit. She hung out with them, invited then places, lived across the hall to them. But then suddenly can't stand them THIS badly?? I love Joey standing up for his friends, but I honestly think it would have been better if Janine just DIDN'T get feelings for him, and simply moved out because it was becoming too awkward or something.

Chandelier is really good at comedic improve and is quick witted with humor, the others have fun energy that are get to bounce off of each other. They are all just amazing actors! Genuinely really love the show and your reactions!

Although there's no evidence as to who really created the joke, after hearing their explanations my money is on Chandler. But I did read a great theory that Gandalf the party wizard told them the joke and either they were so drunk they forgot or they both lied and said they had come up with it. Also, I don't know if it's been confirmed but this is what I could find about the actual joke: "A woman goes to the doctor. The door says "Dr. Monkey". The woman enters and asks "Doctor, I've been feeling very ill lately. Do you know what I can do?" The doctor answers "Do what makes me feel better. Suck on a banana". So yeah, Monica is right. I know people are different and not everyone is lucky enough to be so confident in themselves like Pheoebe is, but I do love how honest and real she is. Like "Yeah, I'm flaky. So what?" And Chandler's "I like... maintaining you" to Monica is SO sweet! Originally the character of Janine was supposed to be in more episodes but Elle McPherson was unavailable due to living in London. Joey tells Gunther he doesn't want to go from being a regular on a soap opera to a waiter. In S2 Gunther tells Joey he used to be Bryce on All My Children (before he was killed off). The customer who hears Joey say "Sorry, this seat's saved" is J.D. Lewis - One of the top acting coaches in the world.

I happened to get a lamp from Pottery Barn once, and THEN I saw this Friends episode, and I was all, "Aw man.... but I like my lamp, Phoebe!" 😆🤣😆🤣 I think it's the only thing from Pottery Barn that I own, but now whenever I look at it, I think of Phoebe and the apothecary table -- "Well... there's colonial times, and then there's yore..." -- and how Rachel was totally busted when Phoebe saw the display window full of stuff. SO funny. 😉🤣

Oh here we go another "we don't know what to do with this character anymore and we need them out so time to 180 their personality and make them an awful person despite never showing tendencies of being awful before" like seriously Janine never shown dislike of Joey's friends at all. If there's one things the Friends writers sucked at is writing breakups they didn't want a character for anymore. The annoying this is there is still like a few more couples episodes where a newly formed couple will go through this before the series ends cause they can't write a breakup right.

The funny thing about Chandler is that he stumbles when it comes to communicating, a lot of the times he would do or say things that would backfire. The only exception is when he talks heart to heart with Monica, I also think the few times if Chandler might have said something that could have irritated Monica, she at least understands Chandler has a problem with speaking before thinking and will listen to his explanation. She really value the times he does feel confident to open up to her, as she sees he does genuinely want to make her happy and feel appreciated. I also think part of the perks of starting their relationship as friends is because he knows that her “high maintenance” is in correlation with wanting to impress others, he’s learned her enough to know she doesn’t act this way out of judgment that some can attribute to “high maintenance” personalities. Before they even got together it was something that Chandler embraced about Monica, and in some ways has hinted ways to improve her self esteem without causing too much stress. There’s a valid reason why Mondler practically carried half of the show.

Before the comments flow about Janine being horrible (cause i know there's gonna be those kind of comments), let's call out that NOT EVERYONE LIKES EVERYONE, OK?! I'm agree to an extend. I think she was way too rushed and rude about it. I mean, the first time: the way she said it was rude, especially after she got to know Joey a little and knowing how close he is to them. She could easy him in it better. All the other times... I know they do it for the sake of the joke, but all her whispering and muttering... why? You told you were trying... just try. Surely you can't know after just one other time out. The second time she could just let it go and see for the next. When she went to apologize, why she had to mutter something? She acter very dumbly. She had to apologize, Monica had to apologize and go on, they could see each other in a official meetings and that's all (even if I think Joey would have resent the situation after a while). And this is all on her. Nothing to do with her not liking Chandler and Monica, which as you say is fine. I think in real life I would never get along with Monica or Ross either.
