I tried to force myself into the mind of this woman to imagine how it works. A person who's life is just a cacaphony of constant bad choices, one after another, none more horrific than her being more or less an observant, irresponsible bystander as her husband beat the life out of an innocent, helpless 5 year old child and went on to conceal and defile her dead body for weeks. And I just can't wrap my head around it other than the simple and maybe accurate explanation that ongoing drug addiction to heroin and crack can permanently damage the mind until people are no more than empty shells incapable of feeling anything other than the anxiety around where they will get their next fix. They make babies when they're high but they end up being an inconvenience other than the money they can claim for them from the state. I have had my dog sitting at my feet for a few hours today as I was watching the extended trial and I would unconsciously lean over and pet him from time to time. Kayla keeps saying “I was scared” and you probably think she means scared of Adam … but the more and more she says it, I think she meant she was scared of getting in trouble because she knew what happened and knew she didn’t stop him or report him so she’d be an accomplice. At some point she’s asked why she didn’t tell anyone what happened and she said “I didn’t want anyone to get in trouble” she said “anyone” she didn’t say “Adam” so she was really concerned for her own guilt in this. Sad.

Kayla ran to get help for herself and HER kids but never tried to get help for Harmony. Harmony wasn't her daughter and she didn't give a shite about her. Please all you young people out there, be very careful who you have kids with! I can say this now that I'm 61. There are many people, who cannot separate their ex partner from their own children. My ex husband told me flat out that he saw me and our son as one person. I told him he needed to get counseling because our son and myself are two different people. I know the fear of a battered wife, I was battered and left for dead but I was very much alive when I woke up to police and paramedics around me the very first fear was where were my two children? He had left them downstairs away from my battered body thank goodness. I had a restraining order, I had left and hidden but not well enough. The fear of something happening to my children made me strong enough to sign a complaint and testify against him. How could Kayla watch him destroy Harmony and not think she and her children would be next.

@via_jacon7 ай бұрын
I don’t think she’s under the influence like everyone seems to be suggesting. I think she is acting that way, head down, voice low, lack of emotion, to play the part of a battered woman for sympathy. She witnessed Adam beat his five year old daughter to death and still ate afterward with her lifeless body right behind her. She got pregnant in the bed beneath the vent where her stepdaughter’s body was rotting. She cut the soiled clothes molded to Harmony’s disfigured corpse. She had discussion after discussion with her husband over how to get rid of the child’s remains and went on with her own life for years. She is also a monster.

But hard agree she is a monster. She was addicted to drugs and men. You would be surprised how many women lose all sense of …everything… just to please a man. And to do it at the expense of their kids is more common than you’d think. And it’s fucked up what people will do for drugs. Insane sometimes. She’s a monster but she’s not acting. Dissociation at times but if you watched part one of this, they took a lunch break & this is the second half when they came back. She is noticeably more “down” in a drugged way, which is part of why it seems like drugs to me.

Guarantee she abused that poor baby right along with him. She testified earlier that she was so scared while he was beating Harmony in the car that she asked to go to Burger King. Didn't ask him to stop beating a small child, asked to go eat out. They claimed her on taxes, not because they did it to throw people off, but they did it for tax credits and more money, no doubt in my mind. She had ample opportunity to turn him in if she was so concerned. She watched him beat her to death and no worries that he would do it to her kids? She deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her life, along with him. Her tears are for herself.

How she still protected that total shitbag of a spouse instead over and over again. She chose to shield and protect him repeatedly instead of each one of those poor kids who she tries to claim she's a "mother" to. She not only failed as a mother but just at being a decent human being. 3)The fact that we can all hear in the background how she's repeatedly sucking her snot back up into her sinuses off and on while she's speaks instead of pausing for a moment to blow her nose. 🤢 🤮

The people that did nothing that knew about this abuse including child services should all be charged and go to jail.
