Everyone slams Kato’s testimony, but it was very critical. He establishes the critical timeline, the thumping behind his wall and the limo driver waiting situation. He was a credible witness.

There is such a thing as a witness being to credible or to honest & in Kato's defense he was trying to live up to the witness that they wanted him to be the only problem was in his effort to do so he became confused at times & couldn't remember every single event & answer he was supposed to give & it made him look like a hostile witness Marcia Clarke didn't help the situation at all by badgering him this is where the prosecutions whole effort to nail O.J. began to crumble.

Kato did not embellish anything he said. His story has always been that of a man woken up and being confused when 4 men in suits showed up out of the night and knocked at the door unexpectedly. Kato is a sincere guy who moved here from the Midwest (like Detective Lange) and had a much more sincere attitude than others.

Why did it feel like Kato’s direct examination randomly became a cross, and his cross examination was a direct even before he was declared hostile?
@margob6203
@margob6203 9 ай бұрын
Kato was basically stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nicole was his good friend prior to ever meeting Simpson, and her kids adored him. Then he became friendly with Simpson, and benefited from that friendship in significant ways, including living on a beautiful estate with free rent, and access to work. If he’d been 100% forthright telling certain things he’d observed or heard, it would have basically cost him everything because that dream deal he had would’ve evaporated. There there was a definite element of self-preservation going on. Kato never lied, but did downplay certain things. Marcia knew what he was doing as his testimony progressed-she went after him for it, and subsequently questioned him as a hostile witness. As any good prosecutor would. Kato was too afraid to tell the whole truth, and it’s understandable because if Simpson was found not guilty, Simpson could have ruined him, or even worse. Kato admitted much later that he was certain all along that Simpson was guilty.

It's funny to see Dershowitz try to dismiss Kato like he is a moron. Yeah Kato wasn't a brain surgeon, he became famous, and still sort of is, but that still doesn't take away from the fact when the detectives first knocked on his door he did not know there was a murder or anything, and he told Furman he thought there was an earthquake the night before because of the thumps on his wall. He didn't just make this up weeks after the crime. You know you live long enough you start to know that when there are 100 coincidences, they aren't coincidences. The cops messed up the case. I think they truly underestimated to power of the dream team. And Marcia Clark was the worst ever. I mean this is how you treat your witness?

Because Vanatter was carrying around a vial of OJ's blood to and from both crime scenes. Many of the samples contained EDTA a preservative used in test tubes when blood is taken which means they came from a vial. This could have been resolved had the LAPD allowed Dr Henry Lee to use lighting techniques and go to the actual crime scene. They weren't interested because they already had their suspect.

Your juror with all these detailed notes has not written down the most important thing related to him. He’s clearly leaning in one direction and all of his notes seem to always point out these silly little slips of the mouth but out of all the evidence that pointed the other way he doesn’t appear to have any? Weird? Most people want to prove their minds/opinions right. Truly intelligent people let the facts go where they go

@@daviddavis3389 that’s exactly my point I would have thought it very obvious! He started of in a position of thinking oj was innocent or somehow this is a race issue! It was not a race issue! It was a jealous ex killing his ex wife ( and mother of his kids) and someone who may or may not have been dating her. OJ should have been put in jail for the rest of his life!!! He got off because of issues that while completely real and worth a much longer conversation had nothing to do with this case. The only way for people to understand how grave of a injustice this case was is to go through it themselves on the losing end. You know for a fact this person killed your family member and people bring in unrelated things to cloud things up enough to get the murder off. If you still think he was innocent it proves how completely incompetent our system is

I want to ask him what he thought about the three bumps that Kato heard, because its so important to this case. Clearly the jury thought Fuhrman planted the glove behind Katos bungalow. We obviously know that Fuhrman wasnt the person who made the bumps, so who was it if IT WASNT OJ? The bumps were loud, and Kato not only heard them, but FELT them, so its not some animal running back there that could explain it. It was alarming enough that he mentions it to THREE separate people. If it is OJ, which id bet my life on, why would he be back there? And if it WAS OJ, that REALLY makes the Fuhrman planting the glove story look like bullshit, and adds creedence to OJ being back there that night and dropping the glove, as the prosecution claimed. The jury just ignored the bumps, and thats BS, because it was a big event. Id love to know what this juror and the rest, thought made that bump.

Everyone that said OJ did including myself. Should ask themselves this question. Why wasn't there more evidence. He had to have washed him self off and there would been blood in drain pipes, house, vehicle etc. If there was it wasn't enough. He was supposed have killed Ron G too and that was even worse. Blood splatter everywhere but not enough on OJ or any of his properties to convict. The evidence was found close enough to the times of the murder. If he killer he wouldnt have had enough to clean himself up, vehicle or the house. The time frames don't work for me. His clothes would have been so bloody when he entered his car theres no way there wouldnt hwve been more blood on the car not the specs they speak off.
