Cousin of missing Gary teen discuss footage of car seen driving near her home

GARY,Ind.- Ja'Niyah McMichael-Rogers,13 was last
seen by family members outside
of her home in June of 2024.
Jasmine McMichael, Ja'Niyah's mother reported the Gary teen missing to the Gary Police Department
on on an unspecified date the second week of August.
McMichael allegedly told multiple family members and Kevin Collinz CEO of KC Body Guard Services,that she noticed her daughter was not at home around 12:47 a.m. when she suddenly woke up to find her front door ajar on August 11,2024.
Jasmine told ABC 7 Chicago
when she got up early the next morning to get the kids up for school, she found the home's front door ajar, the back door unlocked, and her oldest daughter gone.
It's uncertain if McMichael is confused regarding the day she last saw her daughter, or intentionally giving false statements.
The first day of school for students in Gary, Indiana in 2024 was Wednesday, August 14, from 7:45 AM-3:30 PM.
Ja'Niyah's cousin released surveillance footage showing a car driving at a slow speed near Ja'Niyah's home around the time of her disappearance.
The car doesn't appear to make any sudden or gradual stop.
Missing Lost And Trafficked was told by a family member of Ja'Niyah that the vehicle captured on surveillance footage could clearly be seen stopping, with a passenger , and
after stopping a car door was
opened.
The home where the teen was last seen is located 1900 block of Malcom X Drive, Gary police said. She is about 110 pounds, and she was last seen wearing black pajamas, a black hooded sweatshirt and black and
red shoes allegedly.
