It isn't the purpose of any organisation to have "values". Mission statements have always been held to be Meghan Markle=like word salad. It's purpose is purely what it is in business, or exists, to do whether that is looking after customer's money and other activities related to money in the case of a bank, or making sproggets, in the case of a sprogget manufacturer. The thoughts of its employees and customers are absolutely none of its business.

In the case of banks though, laws exist to criminalise them for holding illegal funds or assisting the laundering of money, etc. They have to have some necessary information on their clients. Not to have is regarded as negligence. Their choice of discrimination against political figures is completely unacceptable though, unless they are in terrorist organisations.

For what!? He doesn't meet their minimum requirements. They can withdraw their services. They could choose not to, but because he has a bad reputation, they decided not to give him special treatment. Unless you think it's an offence to not give people special treatment, nothing wrong has been done. What could the government do? Force them to keep clients that don't meet their minimum requirements? That would mean they can no longer have any minimum requirements. It would ruin their business model. It would also have wider implications that the government can tell private companies that they can't be exclusive. It's just not going to happen.
