About The Song: I decided to not use my pinky in the main riff in order to get more space for the sliding sound. Original bassist don't use it that much also. Other thatn that is not a very hard song but some parts are fast. Transcribed from studio version with positions corrected via live videos

Listened to this song all the time when I was a kid my mom had a cd of this album and this would always be playing, I always really liked it but never understood the lyrics 15 now, a whole lot darker, love this song now and it's probably responsible for my love of punk metal and rock in general thanks sublime for being too catchy and funky for its own good.

So this song popped on my iPod and I said to myself "remember how difficult it was trying to learn this by ear note for note back in the day " lol. And so I just decided to KZbin it and whenever I see you're channel at the top, I know it's gonna be 100% perfection. Been following you for so long and you're such superb player and teacher. Trying to learn this song Deff humbled me coming up as a bass player back in the day . Feeling cocky cayse I mastered RHCP , rush and zeppelin songs, my band wanted to cover this and every tab was wrong of course and said to them " yes I'm gonna need week or so " and I don't think I came close to mastering it like this, Eric is such underrated bassist.

I have a question. Im a long time guitar player that's been getting to bass lately. Why is it that most of the time bass players don't use their pinky on their fretting hand? I know they do sometimes but ive been noticing it's more the exception than the rule. Is there any reason for this other than bass strings are much harder physically to push down?

they should. It's a usual mistake not to use it, but honestly, pinky is quite important on a closed, well executed octave range position. Both closed and open positions should end with the pinky. Same case for guitar i think. I tended to mistake that on my earlier videos for sure
