Preemptive not a pioneer player, but I've watched a good bit of the format. If you DO go izzet. Recommend both rielle, as another djinn, and royal scions to just shove damage through late and card select early. Raking claws for lethal out of nowhere.

Getting close to Mythic with my Bant Soldiers deck! Interesting to hear your thoughts on the best of 1 meta. I do face a lot of mono red/blue/black, but I find the decks that give me the most trouble are selesnya enchants or mono green/gruul stompy. Might just be how my deck matches up to them.

one thing that was pretty good in this deck was jin gitaxis. I know he seems slow, but if your able to also play forests, plains and swamps you'd be able to play prismatic bridge and possibly get him out on turn 6. on top of that adding an extra 70 cards to the deck could let you have more flexibility, as their would be more cards.

Since CGB did his first mono-blue Djinn deck, I’m been trying to get an Izzet version to work on the latter and just couldn’t get it right. No [[Thirst for Discovery]] and not having enough counters to protect Djinn was an issue. Also more aggro now hasn’t helped. I’ve been hoping [[Brotherhood’s End]] might be the card needed. Then I don’t need to play out Djinn too early as a blocker. Can’t wait to see CGB show me how it’s done. I always appreciate CGB telling us what works about the deck and how it fits into the meta. Also, the countdown to the new Teferi has begun.

I think that the new young pyromancer might actually be the card. It's very much a must answer threat, loves being cloned by Kiki, and can leave a lot of defenders behind when it dies.
