For those who will eventually complain, 10 minutes is the length of the video, not the time required to do all of this.

This is a great format for getting a holistic view of the process of making this. As a beginner, one of the hardest parts is knowing what you don't know. Videos like this give you enough detail about each step that you can then stop at any stage and go do some research on the information given. And, if it's something you already know, you can just breeze on by. Thank you for this, great content!

When I UV meshes that will have visible wood grain, I orient the uvs to run longways horizontally, so when I feed a wood texture in my texturing program, I don't need to individually select and rotate wood uvs to match the grain direction. Plus, you can then change out the wood material for anything.

Super tutorial, I would have bought your course if not for Substance painter. As a student in architecture, your tutorial gave me a few ideas on how to improve my renders. But the big stop for me is to pay about 50€/month for the adobe software, is too expensive for someone like me who's just wanting to learn it and maybe use it for my school projects. I'll keep your video on the side in a private playlist, for when someday I am working and need your tutorial. Keep up the good work, your renders looks gorgeous

Love this tutorial, but one thing: 9:39 for the majority of scenes, instead of reducing the sample count, you can increase the noise threshold. This will skip areas that already have enough samples, and instead focus on areas that don't (usually areas with less light or more complex shaders). It will generally take longer than reducing the sample count for darker scenes, but still should be significantly faster than the default settings (and sometimes faster than reducing samples) while also improving the clarity, especially since the denoiser will have more points to work with and look less jittery.

Just got this recommended to me. Thank god I did because this inspires me to start 3d rendering again. Years ago in highschool I used to spend hours diddling around in sketchup creating fun assets. Loved it. Always wanted to graduate into the blender realm. Then I graduated and stopped entirely. This video was incredibly informative with all the fat trimmed. Makes it actually seem doable to make incredible environments like yours. Thank you. Also, if you read this, what are some resources I can use to get into 3d rendering? Aside from your channel, of course

That's so cool Kyler!!! I'm thrilled you're interested in getting back into it all. My biggest resource is ArtStation (just looking for 3d breakdowns and behind the scenes stuff on people's work) and just YT videos in general. GL!!
