Hello ! Yes I am with you in not wanting the seam that is noticeable. If you are using HDC I would recommend using the continuous method, meaning do not join at the end of each row, just work around and around

You can make cowls using any sort of stitch that you like. You just need to have the right amount of chains for your stitch (for the ones that have multiples like certain shells, wheels, etc.) Also, depending on how you make your cowl (continuous round, nearly seamless joining, making a rectangle and sewing at the end, etc.) you can change colors, add ribbing, put in graphed images, and all sorts of other "fun" extras.

Hi, You can use any stitch that you like, but sorry i do not have a video for it

This is absolutely beautiful, you made the edges clean, and neat, I love it!!!! I was wondering what u meant when u said it was 30 degrees, cuz today in Mich. it's 30 degrees meaning it is C-O-L-D!!! ha! This vid is really going to help me learn to do the 'V' shaped pattern for my Flights of Fancy Scarf. Thanks again!

@jenniferlamaestra277312 жыл бұрын
You can use a thick yarn and you can do ribbing if you make a rectangle piece and sew the sides together instead of working in a circle.

@maqsizu it doesn't matter how many chains you do in the beginning, you don't need to count them, you just need to make it long enough to fit around your head and down to the bottom of your neck. In the beginning I show the chain length laid over the foam mannequins head to demonstrate how long you need to make it. Make is as long as is needed to fit that same area on the person you are making it for.

Question: I am attempting to make a piece like this as a gift but using HDC rather than the granny style. I'm having trouble with the gap between the join in the two ends and each row at the join. Can you recommend a different way to join the two ends forming the circle? I thought about just creating a rectangle and stitching the two end to create a circle but then would have to worry about a seam. Thanks for any suggestions & am super grateful for your tutorials by the way!

How many chains did you start with?? And I see it is basic granny of 3 DC how many stitches are in-between each shell.. I don't have access to your patterns and you don't say anything about it in the tutorial
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
you make your chains in the multiple of 4. you make it as long as you like. yes the granny clusters are 3 double crochets then you chain 1. so your first round will be 2dc in the 4th chain from hook ch1, sk 3 chains and then 3dc in next chain. ch 1. repeat to end. join in the round. you will then be making your clusters into the spaces. you can get the written pattern here www.bobwilson123.org/granny-stitch-cowl.html
