the girl turning around at the last second to face the coyote probably saved her life... those animals pretty much only strike when you aren't looking. they're very timid, especially if it's a human! kudos to you, little girl

Yeah that's how most animals work. I ran into a big bear hiking from my camp site in the mountains and it was coming at me fast until I turned around and it stopped so I stood tall and threw my arms in the air and ran at it and it darted far away and I never seen it again
@samroney66443 жыл бұрын
If the coyote intended to "strike", turning around and squealing like caught prey wouldn't have stopped it at all. The best way to deter a coyote is to wave your arms in the air, roar, and act aggressive- or just trick it into dropping an anvil on its head. She's just lucky it was only curious.

I think that all the time when I see people letting their 4k and kindergartners walk to school alone... through town. Don't get me wrong, when I was a kid (older than that, though), yeah I played with my friends and ran around our tiny town with them until the lights came on, and yes, kids were still kidnapped, but it's so much worse these days. And worse things happen to them nowadays. More torture, more... slavery in... certain areas. I once saw the neighbors kid (probably about 10) walking through our giant college town around midnight on a weekend. Far from home. Lots of big groups of drunk college kids. He was with older kids (no siblings). And I was legit worried. I wasn't "mom-shaming" or "judging" when I brought it up to someone, I was simply worried for that child. Especially so close to home. We have a lot of sexual predators here. I would never let me 10 year old daughter walk in our town alone during the day, I would certainly not let her out so late at night/early morning. Especially if I had seen her with older people. Not related, I'm sure... but this kid is pretty awful. Feel kind of bad. Still wouldn't want anything to happen to them.
@shannonstibor69674 жыл бұрын
@@lollietacooliva Right? It's so easy to just pull up and grab them. I mean heck, they have that video of a mom walking with her daughter and someone pulling her child in and driving off. Or the video of the mom and daughter eating outside at a restaurant, surrounded by other people, when a man jumped over the little fence and went to grab the child. So many videos and stories, but some parents still think it's safe out there.

Yes it would. From the video, the coyote was never aggressive and just wanted to play. Coyotes can run up to 35-43 mph. It would’ve succeeded if it was hunting her.
@emyroa52955 жыл бұрын
I'm with you on this one. The coyote looked like it wanted to play! Viewers refused to admit that they can see the young coyote circling the tree, not directly at her, and the girl even stopped on her tracks at the end facing the coyote...ad if she wanted to play as well!
@therealavrey79035 жыл бұрын
Emy Roa lol if I see a coyote the thought of it just wants to play is not coming to my mind

@@therealavrey7903 adults,yes. But the kid may have said otherwise, if not told gazillion times that she may have been a meal. But really look at the video, if the coyote wanted to attack her at broad daylight, he could've gorged her on the spot.. Not like that seemingly juvial stance.
@affinalove30065 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it wanted to eat her and I don’t think it wanted to play either, I think it was just curious and was trying sniff her to understand what his surroundings was and who/what she was. It can be a pretty scary thing though I’ve seen some stray dogs at a park at night and unlike the coyote they chased me up a playground where they couldn’t reach me, but they weren’t being friendly at all they were barking and snarling at me. I’m pretty sure the female dog was pregnant so they felt threatened by me so I just waited there until they left since animal services didn’t work that late at night. But I’m pretty sure if that coyote had wanted to attack he would’ve done it a lot sooner and had went all in.
