what's the cost into this build. have a 2000 Vic that will be needing a new power house. I like your LS swap, but at the same time want to keep a Ford motor. but power over cost, and ease will be the deciding factor. thanks again for sharing your amazing work
@BigAlsGarage8 жыл бұрын
I will admit, the Coyote swap is still not a cheap option. This swap has exceeded the LS vic swap by around 3k, and it's still not turbocharged. However, it does have some improvements over the LS setup such as the 6 speed auto, and a more advanced ecu and control system. In summary, if you want cheap raw power, the LS is the way. If you want all Ford, with great boost potential and good N/A power as well, the Coyote is a great option, although is more expensive.

+houstoncruiser At last check of my build sheet, this setup is a little over 7k. No problem, thanks for following me and the kind words!

I know the video is 5 years old now but if you see this I was going to ask if you were able to keep the hvac system working or not? That is the only thing keeping me from diving in on the swap
@iankelley50803 жыл бұрын
Hey man I’m curious if you had to keep the stock pcm also?
@BigAlsGarage Жыл бұрын
Yes. The stock HVAC worked fine in this car, A/C and all.
@BigAlsGarage Жыл бұрын
The stock PCM was left in the firewall, but was not used for anything other than to keep the hole in the firewall plugged. Coyote computer ran everything.

nice build. where can we a wiring diagram to what u did to make it work.? thanks
@BigAlsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Mike, everything is custom made in-house by me on these swaps. To my knowledge, there is no diagram or manual to follow at this time. All I do, is grab the wiring schematics for both the swap vehicle and the power train being installed, and fabricate my own harness.

Is that the stock radiator and degauss bottle from the marauder ?
@BigAlsGarage Жыл бұрын
Yes, I reused them both.

@@BigAlsGarage no over heating issues then ?
@BigAlsGarage Жыл бұрын
@Honda4Ever no I never had any issues at all with it. I raced it quite a bit when it was N/A, never had a problem.

@@BigAlsGarage another question did that Marauder have a cable speedometer or electronic vss
@BigAlsGarage Жыл бұрын
@@garrettstayton it was electronic. I used a Dakota digital signal converter box to convert the coyotes CAN BUS vss to sine wave analog so the oem Gauges worked.

did you change out the harness plug on the right side of the pcm so it can plug in and the plug on the far left is a direct match correct ?
@BigAlsGarage7 жыл бұрын
No, the plugs on the Coyote ECU are all stock and in their stock location. The plug on the far left is the ECU's inputs/outputs to the body/chassis of the vehicle. The plug in the middle and right are the Engine/Trans plugs, and no modification is necessary to those two.

moparman is there anyway i could get in contact with you about wiring, i am doin a swap in a 2000 mustang and i am using the factory wiring
@mtnickel7 жыл бұрын
What did you do for the PATS system? Did you have the antenna and key that came with the Coyote all hooked up still?
@BigAlsGarage5 жыл бұрын
In the beginning, yes. Two months after this swap was running a method to turn off PATS was developed to flash it out permanently in the ecu
@34nickt5 жыл бұрын
@@BigAlsGarage where did u get the ecu flashed?
@BigAlsGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@34nickt head over to the HP Tuners forum and post under the Coyote section. There is a member there that does it.

what is the aftermarket module you reference at the end of the video?
@BigAlsGarage5 жыл бұрын
Dakota Digital.....I cannot remember the part number though. It essentially hooks to the DLC and then has pin outs for MIL/VSS/ect.

@@BigAlsGarage Very cool. I'm starting to build up parts for a gen 2 swap into a 06 town car. Wondering if you have any documentation that might help me out? Such as the pin outs for your wiring harness adapter etc.

Can people send you things to do this because I really need someone to help or do my wiring

Unfortunately I do not do any wiring work other than on the projects I am currently doing personally. I appreciate the question though!

That's why most modern engines have a cover. This coyote originally did but wouldn't fit with the Marauder hood. It's pretty much all OEM parts from the donor F150. Thanks for watching!
