I found a dead coyote under a shed about 10 to 15 yards from my back door. It was baring it’s teeth in a hideous grimace as if it died painfully. It looked as if it had been sleeping under the shed for some time. I live in a rural area but I find it strange that a coyote would be on its own unless it was rabid.

Thank you Les. Called in a double today and thanks to what I have learned from you it was indeed a double. I set up on the edge of a field and the wind changed so I didn't call and decided to walk into the middle of the field in a lower section to a row of about 10 round bales. Set the GS2 up at one end of the bales with a electronic wiggle tale. Called and after about 10 mins one came over a hill soon followed by a second which layed down on the top of the hill. The lead yote walked up but was slightly out of shotgun range so I slowly started to make the switch. Half way through the switch it turned slightly and was headed almost straight to me. There I was in the middle of both rifles. When it hit 39yrds it winded me and Trotted off. A quick "Yeow" and he stopped at 100 for a easy .204 shot. Within 2 seconds the second was up from its nap and over the hill. I did a short coyote distress of 15 seconds then 2 mins later a little short rabbit distress. Followed by a lonesome howl. The second coyote howled back so I did my best to copy its howls. After a couple howls I just waited and about 8-10 mins later he come lopping over the hill for another easy 137 yrd .204 shot. I didn't wait to see if he would come into shotgun range. I was just ecstatic to get a shot off at the 2nd one so I didn't try anything fancy.😊. Thanks for all the great help over the years.👍

Hay Les great video I stumbled across a video of yours that I haven't seen before great shot on that running dog after u miss en with that shotgun. And also great shot on this coyote love all ur videos keep it up bro the coyotes in our area r getting smarter I have a heck of a time calling I haven't called in a dog in so long I'm almost not wanting to walk out and have a dry set which I have had awful lots but I think the population of coyotes in our area r getting really small cuz we have trapped and shot lots and lots of em this year biggiest coyote year ever!!

Les, i see you used a fixed bi-pod. May i ask what you feel are the benefits for you? I used to use one but found i could not get enough height and versatility, especially in deeper snow so went to a bog-pod style sticks. Great video and i am glad i stumbled across your channel. Instantly subbed!

Hey Les, I was hoping you could answer a question for me. I've had coyote make a single bark but not howl back or do anything else. I would bark back and they would move closer and bark again. What's going on there in that scenario? Thank you and Happy New Year!
