I love this. Everyone I meet that actually share an interest for books, proceed to tell me they read Colleen Hoover, and then it just feels like no one actually shares my interest in reading like i thought. I’m happy you are sponsored by day one, i think my resub is coming up and I’ll be sure to plug your code in! Thank you for being you!

Every time I see someone reading Rebecca, I have to say this: Watch Hitchcock’s version of Rebecca. I loved that movie so much! It was one of those rare instances that the movie proved to be more interesting to me than the book. Happy reading ❤

Hi Christy, I have not commented before, but I want to say how much I appreciate your videos. I do not normally listen to vlogs but yours are amazingly beautiful and interesting. I particularly like how you present Adelaide. Well done! I live in Southern Adelaide, so I appreciate how you present various parts of Adelaide like the coffee shops, the Hills and the Botanic gardens. It is nice to hear and see a little bit of our world warmly shown on the internet. For example, this has been a funny Autumn, so can appreciate how you would go out to see a tree and find it is not showing its autumn colour as you expected. Best wishes for Project Tea Cup. I hope your literary agent likes the edits you have made and that you will find a publisher soon.

It's cool that you have so many books that you love too much to give up, it shows that your aim of only having copies of books you love is working :)

Charming! I loved the realistic day. The mini unhaul - it's just a fine edit and polishing touch. The picturesque sushi and reading poetry in the garden. This is the second tree this year that was still green! And just dotting about reading various things. Lovely! ✨

This video is so cozy and calming. I love all the birdsong in the background of the botanic gardens footage. When I lived in Sydney, I loved hearing the birds all throughout the year. The magpies were some of my favorite singers. 🎶

Oooh what kind of books do you work on? I'm also an editor but in a completely different sector. I find it mainly slows down my non-fiction reading, given that I'm always technically reading heavy non-fiction pieces!

My heart leapt when I saw Paddington on your shelf. I adore Paddington. I think Paddington deserves a spot not half-hidden. Thanks for the content warning for Chai Time at the Cinnamon Gardens. I admit I was sucked in by the cover too, and it's currently on my shelf but I haven't read it yet. I agree about the tone of The Midnight Library. I found the messages to feel rather spoon-fed. I hope you're enjoying your time with Emily Dickinson! She's one of my favourite poets. I have the tome that is her full collected works which I made my way slowly through over the course of a year. I highly recommend the tv series Dickinson - it's beautifully filmed, it's queer, it's quirky, it's funny.

Man, I wish I had the willpower to unhaul some of my books, but it would seem like I'm giving away a piece of myself. Not to mention I'm possessive, so there's that. Anyway, another great video Christy. Hope everyone has a blessed day!

The Remains of the Day is a beautiful book; the theme of duty is far more interesting than it seems when you hear what the book is about, because of the author's wonderful insights about what makes a worthwhile life, and what, on the other hand, one might have by way of regrets. The other thing that makes it so good is the writing style, and I was pleased to hear you talk about style, something I haven't heard anyone on booktube do yet, but since you write, yourself, it's inevitable that style is something you've thought about. I find it forms a huge part of my reading taste, rather than just what the plot is. I don't know how you manage to read anything, though, while writing; I can't do that when I'm so caught up in my own developing plots and themes! Do read The Remains of the Day soon though, 'cos you'll love it.

Yay such great fun having another fun cozy video to watch from ya Christy. I myself have been slacking a bit on the reading aspect as well recently. MY fave book i have read in recent years as of 2018 would have to go to ready player one. Such a great fun scifi book plus movie adaptation was also really well done. Been having issues finding a good fun read ever since though lately. I'm more into sci-fi and fantasy themed adventures as well as historical fantasy depending on the topics.

@@zoesrockinrandom7249 The Witcher is a polish fantasy book series about a Witcher called "Geralt of Rivia". He is basically a mercenary who kills monsters for money and its the best in his role. The series involves a lot of romance and each character is deeply presented (I hope you enjoy Yennefer the way I do lol), the battles are incredible detailed too. There's 8 books in the series if im corrrect, and also there's 3 games (if you play any games, give it a chance to "The Witcher 3", you don't need to play the other 2). I think I didn't explain very well, but I highly recommend, give it a chance! The first book is "The Witcher: Last Wish".

I did like seeing a bit of the one Tishani Doshi poem, "Fear Management," you put on screen, so I'll have to look them up. Ah, what were your thoughts on the Midnight Library? Maybe I missed a vlog update from you before. It was a book club read for me, but I'm still only halfway through and struggling to finish it 😅 Some themes really hit close to home for me, so maybe that's why I stopped after starting it in October last year 😭

Really curious to see what you think of The Gracekeepers. I read a short story by Kirsy Logan that I adored so after you mentioned you were planning on reading it I had quite high hopes. Unfortunately, it was not for me. I coincidentally picked up Rebecca at a second hand book fair recently although it might be a while before I get to it because, similarly to you I am also having a bit of a slower reading pace lately. It's kind of nice to know it happens to other people too. I'm hopeful it will pick up again soon. Thank you for another lovely video!

I have five bookshelves (three tall, two short), and I'm thinking of repurposing an additional short bookshelf I was using for CD's to accommodate more fiction books (I've mostly been a non-fiction guy the past decade). So three isn't so much in comparison (though she does pack them in a lot more than I do).

Dear Christy, I am writing to you from São Paulo, Brazil. Look how far your videos have reached... Did you expect this? Currently, I am a content creator with the idea of a fantasy book to start writing, and I intend to begin soon. It is a long process until we have the courage to start this journey. I am writing to thank you for your videos. The aesthetics are beautiful, the way you talk about your creative process and inspire us to see the beauties of life. Your lifestyle is the one I want to have every day. I will keep following you from afar and sending updates. See you soon. Hugs, Ciro.

I see them all the time, and I can't help but wonder if they're any good. Also, if you're looking for pretty versions of Virginia Woolf books, vintage has a lot of pretty ones. I call that magical voice the Neil Gaiman voice. It’s a difficult one to get right. Too much and you’re talking down to the reader, or the sweetness is so unbelievable it just takes you out of the story.
