Pro Tip on the colonoscopy prep… Get the softest toilet paper you can find 😁. Second…. Whatever they have you drink, 1) drink it through a straw 2) get that straw in the back of your mouth (essentially minimize contact with your mouth to avoid tasting it) and 3) learn how to swallow without “breathing”. What I mean there is swallow, and then let the air out your mouth instead of your nose if that makes any sense. So much of our taste is in smell. When we swallow, air comes out our nose. You want to try to avoid that. 😉 Trust me it will help! 👍

Girl colonoscopies are fine! I’ve gotten used to discussing them because my family has a colon cancer history (I had my first screening at 32) it sounds embarrassing to bring up but it’s so important! The prep does suck- tho there have been improvements to it. (If you get a gallon jug of glorified salt water to drink I’d try and see if they other options that one is particularly awful) But the procedure is easy and millenials should be getting colonoscopies before their 50s because colon cancer is rising in our generation. And part of encouraging people to get checked is to lessen the stigma about having to get one. Taking care of your health is never embarrassing ❤❤❤

@Bookswithemilyfox My mom had hers relatively recently this year and she said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. I'm still waiting on more tests/answers so I wouldn't be ready to go into more details as I don't know everything yet. I'm not sure about everything else but I know you can test/diagnose Celiac through blood test (plenty of places consider this enough). It's cheaper than an endoscopy. You might not have that but do not go gluten free before testing or you'll get negative result whether you have it or not!

My grandma used Nivea and her face and hands were always extremely soft. I know almost nothing about skincare and even less about makeup because I just never got into it. Although I did dabble a little with basic brown tone eyeshadow, mascara, some concealer under the eyes and on spots and I liked putting on some red or dark lipstick when I'd go out to party. I think I wore makeup like that a couple of times and it would actually boost my confidence. I think a youtuber I watched and liked her makeup filmed her beauty routine and so I learned to apply eyeshadow with 3 tones. (Almost white in the inner corner of the eye, then creme and gradually a brown just under my eyebrow arch which is positioned above my iris. But I can't find the eyeshadow palette I used to use, I don't think it's made anymore.) I love the way black eyeliner looks but I can't apply that because I'm really grossed out by eyes, it's almost like a phobia. But I always felt I looked ridiculous when I would try to put foundation on and would always take it off before leaving the house and especially during the day. Maybe it's because I'm so used to the way my skin looks without anything? Because one time a friend who really loved makeup did my makeup for me at a sleepover and I kind of liked it but also didn't. Idk, but I learned something new today. Did I get it right, is it occlusive? I'd watch segments about both skincare and makeup, especially if they contain some tips or new to me information. Which isn't really hard to achieve because I know almost nothing. Like, what the heck is a tonic and should I use it? Why does my skin burn whenever I try to use cleansers once or twice a day? And I go for the ones that say are for sensitive skin...Why can't I ever get rid of blackheads on my nose even tho I tried those strips multiple times? Is my skin oily or dry or both??? Why do I come across contradictory information whenever I try to google skincare??? Idk 😂 But yeah, I'm not expecting you to answer my questions but I am *lost*😅

I wasn't expecting to see Defekt in this video! I really liked that book but I wish it was a full length novel. From your nonfiction shelves, idk if you've read The Soul of An Octopus, but that definitely leans memoir but you do get some interesting facts about Octopuses and ocean science, but also very much about how her life and career have revolved around them. I liked it because it wasn't too technical and I found it to be an easy read for a nonfiction, but if memoirs aren't your thing then I'm not sure you'd give it more than a three star.

Emily, even before starting the video I have to say that I just finished I who have never known men - I'm still crying and it's your fault 🤧

As I was putting my earrings on this morning I wondered if you had done anything about your ears. Idk if it's still recommended to turn your earrings a bit every day or not. You might want to look into that, it used to help. 🤷♀️ just checked: apparently not and should be avoided 🤷♀️

you get different advice everywhere you go. i got my doubles pierced recently, and they said to wash them 3 times daily with antibacterial soap. when my sister got hers done, they said don't do anything and do not touch them. so idk lol

Oh, girl, the colonoscopy is much easier than people make it out to be. I've had 3 and I'm only 40. Yes the prep is the worst, but it's not painful.

My favorite response I got from a publisher in response to my request for an ARC was basically "We really only give these to actual book reviewers or people with social media presence, but as a one time pity favor we'll give you this one." Hey I got it, right!?
