Peter Clarke :))) No, that's not in the budget. But I have been looking at the price of drones sliding down the hill.

Looks like a "derail" to me. Any run-away cars won't get past that point i.e. out on the main. Go to 49°52'50.36" N 121°26'42.37" W on Google Earth to see how the North Bend yard is set up.

8:00 what's the deal with that switch on the left track? Looks like the rest of the track is missing and it's not lined up

How long do those guys stay on those trains?
@TheOldRailfan9 жыл бұрын
+frmerrin2 As far as I know crew changes for these sections. Vancouver to North Bend; North Bend to Kamloops; Kamloops to Revelstoke; Revelstoke to Golden; Golden to Fort Steele; Fort Steele to Sparwood.

+TheOldRailfan yep 8 to 10 hour shifts at least I think that's how long they work for

They don't work 8 hours and then go home. One crew will take it to the crew change location (such as where the first crew got off the train) and then the other will get on to take it to their home terminal. Theres a stay at a bunkhouse, and then a trip home. Normal stuff that gets packed in my bags is my required CROR rule book, track profiles, ocs and ctc track warrant forms. Plus a change of clothes and entertainment (Tablet, nintendo 3ds, a book). Not to mention enough food to last a trip that can be 30 hours. The amount of gear needed for a full trip adds up quickly. The worst position to be in is to be stuck in the middle of some small town with nothing to do and no food.
