My original Air sense 10 stopped transmitting a few years back. When I contacted Resmed (I'm in Canada) they told me I had to contact my supplier for assistance. The supplier then told me since I'd had the unit for over 5 years I was entitled to a replacement. Unfortunately, that required going back for another sleep study. Aside from the lack of quality sleep during these things the pandemic made me uncomfortable with this idea. So I purchased a new unit from sources online at much cheaper rate than through the suppliers associated with the sleep doctor 🤔. Thankfully, my insurance covered the cost. Thanks again Nick for another informative video. Feel better soon.

I spent almost 5 years in a security control room and was face to face with a similar issue with 3G alarm communicators and 3G medical alarms. Security companies were upgrading to 4G devices on a daily basis and they were still not catching up with the 3G network being turned off in certain areas.

Thanks. Because of your first post on this topic I tried to find out what modem was inside. Not on the label as the first indicated it should be. In the US. Call ResMed Support. Forty-five minutes on hold to hear "Unfortunately there is no way for us to tell you what modem is inside. Also, we are waiting to hear ourselves as to what the plan will be." My response "So I guess we get the answer on 15-February-2021? Waking up to an error screen is the indication the modem is not a 4g? Is that really the best that can be expected?" Wow! Despite all of that, loyalty to ResMed is upheld. Thanks to your update video, the Clinical Menu | About screen pleasantly revealed that the internal modem is, indeed, 4G!

My AirSense 10 stopped transmitting on April 15th and I also have an FCC ID of AIR 10CD. I wonder if this is a 2G or 3G modem. Hi Nick, I’ve just checked my ResMed Lumis ST-150 which is supplied by the NHS in the UK and it’s a Vodafone UK 2g modem, mind you it doesn’t really surprise me the UK is increasingly becoming a backward Country, thanks for showing us how to check it through the clinicians menu Nick, keep up the great work mate.

I think the UK networks keep the 2g networks running, for minimal low speed data only, no voice, with very limited spectrum, just for smart meters and iot devices.

@@BenjaminSweetnam I have to run my airsence 10 in flight mode. Which has fixed 2 issues 1. Is my sleep data is not being sent to Resmed. 2. My air curve 10 Signal has “ - - dBm”. What does that mean? I do have 4G modem.
@jimturpin2 жыл бұрын
My wife and I both use the ResMed AirSense 10 Respond. When looking under the info menu, I see hers is connected via 4G, but mine says CDMA. I called and spoke with a service rep at ResMed and she told me that equipment made after 2015 has the 4G hardware. I couldn't find the date on mine but I think it was made in 2016 based on the serial number which leads with 2316....... but anyhow, as a communications engineer for the last 40 years, it is possible there are lots of units on CDMA due to the subscriber provisioning that was setup when the account was created. Today AT&T was supposed to shut down their 3G system so when it does finally drop out, it should just rehome to 4G based on the search algorithm if it can't find the primary CDMA signal, just like a phone would in similar circumstances. I will update this post if there is a change in the connectivity status. Thanks for the informative videos, I have learned a lot about CPAP's in general from your channel.

G'day Jim, i would love for you to keep us informed! Thank you for the insights

@@CPAPReviews Will do, after doing a little more research, the label on the back of mine implies it is a CDMA unit, but my wifes doesn't appear to indicate what it is. I concluded mine indeed is made in 2016, and hers was made in 2021. I'm still showing connectivity, prior to yesterday the signal level on mine was showing -113dBm implying it wasn't picking up a signal and today is shows -85dBm and still says CDMA, and the myAir app updated todays stats, so at this point I don't know what to think. Just playing it by ear until something breaks. On a side note, if it does quit, I was thinking about pulling the SIM and plugging it into one of my old unused phones where I can run the diagnostics that are available on it to see who the carrier is and perhaps gain some insight in how the subscriber record and provisioning is set up. I'll advise at that time. Thank you sir.

What is the scope of the 3G shutdown? Does it just affect Australia, or the US?
@chascapwell20412 жыл бұрын
As you've probably experienced like most Resmed users with a 3G modem, it is in the US as well. By the end of the year(2022) 3g will likely be gone from all the US. TMobile, who is the carrier that Resmed used - or so I've been told - shut down their 3G network last week.

Hi Nicko, I asked my SleepTech about the 3G Module in my new Airsense 11 this is the response she got from Resmed. Note the bottom line. Cheers Andrew from Mackay. Andrew info from Resmed We do not currently have a timeline as to when the AirSense 11 is available for commercial use outside of the US. Regarding the 3G network, Vodafone is yet to announce a date for when the 3G network will be decommissioned. If Vodafone decommissions its 3G network within the warranty period of a customer’s Air10 device, ResMed will offer customers a free upgrade of their device’s cellular module to 4G. When Vodafone officially communicates its 3G sunset dates for Australia and New Zealand, ResMed will advise Authorised Dealers of the 4G upgrade process affected customers can undertake. This will only apply to Air10 3G devices purchased by customers from October 2021 onward.
