Amazing reviews and info. I’m scoring 98 to 100 every night thanks to you with a fine tune of pressure and temperature. No more nose pillow leaks and the dreaded stuffy nose and dry mouth. Feel amazing. Miles more energy and clarity. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

The ResMed 10 is now 10 years old South Australia does not have the 11 as yet as today they could not tell me when it is coming I do not have any unit I was going to get one today The 10 with face mask is over $2,000 and it’s old technology What do you suggest Get model 10 ? Jump to another brand ? Wait for 11 knowing the reviews are not as good? Can you please start selling machines Greg

If you cannot stand hot steam blowing in your face, you can turn off the heat in the tube and maximize the humidity. Of course, this is going to cause rain out, but I've learned that putting a paper towel in the bottom of the full face mask each night will absorb it. It is strange how you refer to temperatures in different areas. I'm going to go way out on a limb and assume that most of us who have CPAP machines live in heated homes

Hey Kath . Oh that's very kind of you to say my dear . It's bloody hard to explain / understand that's for sure but once you understand a few concepts it certainly helps when making changes to the therapy climate. I think explaining climate change would probably be easier haha. All the best mate and i see your badge has changed to 1 month so thank you for that extra support. You rock. Nick

This video is WONDERFUL! I wake up in the morning with my sinus so dry that I have blood clots! My old device was much more efficient. But it's been in the low teens and my machine sets on the floor (we live in a camper). I noticed that my water reservoir was still full this morning, so pretty sure it isn't heating the water in the reservoir. I changed the hose temp and the humidity level. Hoping it does tge trick for me mate! THANKS!

Over the last 2 vids, I have learnt a lot. I have now adjusted the max pressure to 20 and the low to 7. As I have an airfit 20 full mask , I felt sometimes that I wasn’t getting enough air.. after I have adjusted with the clinical settings, I am breathing better. Just for some info- my first assessment before purchasing a machine, I was having about 99 apnea per hour with the longest being 90 seconds. Now my AHI is 0.7 and AI 0.3, central AI 0.
@biasvids3987
@biasvids3987 2 жыл бұрын
The average pressure for most people is around 10 More severe apnea may be higher. Setting your pressure from 7, to 20 i would not recommend that. The machine doesn't start adjusting Pressure till it senses that you're asleep by the way you breathe patterns are. Pull those numbers closer together 20 is very high pressure And 7 is low Giving you the feeling you're not being able to breath & the high pressure at 20 may cause central apnea to happen. The goal is to find a number the lowest number which still gives The pressure to treat your apnea. My pressure settings are from 10 to 12 1/2, I average around 11. You can see your average on your machine in the menu. On the air sens 10 you also have the ability to switch from auto to constant pressure cpap. Once you narrow down to that number that works for you this is the best option for most, my number is 11.

No wonder it feels like sticking my face in an oven! 80 freaking degrees? I turned my tube temp off completely and turned off the ramp up, so it's blowing fairly cool air. I turned the humidity up to max, and put a paper towel in the pouch at the bottom of my full face mask to soak up the rain out. Nice cool moist air. Scored my first 100 when I did that.

Good information. I started out with the obligatory Auto/Auto setting. That was a wreck. Read a bunch of Resmed information and watched some KZbin videos. They all say the same thing. If you are congested, increase the humidity and/or temperature. That was even a bigger wreck. Finally (slowly) worked my way down to a level that works. 74 degrees with the humidity set on 1 or 2 (usually 1). If I increase the humidity, my sinuses will be congested within 5 minutes. The only time I get dried out sinuses is if I have a large mask leak, which hasn't been the case for a while. Also, when my sinuses congest, my events will increase as well. So my experience is that the advice to increase humidity might decrease your congestion, but don't hesitate to go the other direction and lower your humidity to get a better night's sleep. It worked for me. (Airsense 11)

Brilliant tutorial. I’ve had the Aiden’s 11 for almost 2 years and just took it in this morning for repair just barely within the warranty period. I started getting an error message saying heating system error. Therapy may run without heat. I now feel I have an understanding of the climate and heating systems and can use them correctly assuming the machine is repaired properly.

I would like to say a huge thankyou for letting us know about the Phillips debacle. I contacted Phillips about November last year. I have just received a notification they are replacing my unit with a new one. All I have to do is send them the settings. It's a fixed pressure unit. It will then be sent to me. I expect it may take a while. If it was not for your incredible work I would never have known! I also would not achieved the excellent result. Again thankyou for all your great work. I also purchased the BMC AUTO machine you recommended. It's excellent :) All the best :) Brendon

Very relaxed and informative....(not forgetting humorous, you deviot 🤣) I've been waking up regularly throughout the night with an incredibly dry mouth, a coarse dry cough and a very annoying runny nose, which lasts all day.I had blamed my CPAP for that and decided to try having a break from that, then was tired for days. So, when all else fails...you Tube it, and here I am.I got in and had a fiddle with some of my adjustments. After 2 nights, no more dry throat, cough or runny nose. No tiredness either. Thanks for all the advice.

Hi Nick A very informative video! Unfortunately my Phillips was recalled and I ended up getting a Res Med. Worse mistake ever!! With my Phillips I could set the humidifier at 3/4 out of 5 and wake up with water still in the tank. (normally still half full) My Resmed? Waking up in the morning with a bone dry water tank. With my lips stuck to my gums, dry and sore throat. Doesn't matter the setting as I've tried settings from 4 clear up to 8. Tried with and without the heated tube still having a empty water tank. Even with a recall I'm seriously considering going back to my Phillips so I at least don't have to suffer with my dry conditions. Best wishes Duane

A newbie and a Brit who has just started with my ResMed AirSense 10. Due to a cliff fall accident as a child I smashed up my nose, then a few operations in life I now at 70 can't really breather through my nose and most of life always had a dry mouth. What I am having a problem is that my machine set by my Doctor and told me to just get use to the mask, which I am slowly doing and then we can look at tweaking, which I see the sense in. What I am finding hard is that the air being pump feels to 'warm' to me, and have had a couple of panic attacks requiring to stick my head out of the windown or even go out into my garden, to breathe 'cold' fresh air. I don't have a humidifier or special tube but what you spoke about and I saw in the setting 'temperature' IF can do, with the special would I be able just to make the air become COOLER only and stop sometimes the feeling of suffocating. I was told by the British compnay that sells ResMed, I could try putting a bowl of ice cubes right next to the air suction filter, I did, plenty of them but I could tell no difference. Would really appreciate an answer please, as I am close to giving up as the stress, not getting sleep and panic attacks, at my age I think will kill before the Sleep Apnea does.

Helpful info! I find that the auto-auto mode on my Resmed 10 end up causing "rain out" in the nose mask, flooding the mask and nose with moisture. So at present I'm using manual settings to have the system provide some moisture, but not enough to "rain out" the mask.
@CPAPReviews
@CPAPReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Nice on Matt, thanks for sharing your experience . Here's the thing, once that air leaves the heated tube it can quickly cool down in the mask as the mask does not have any protection from the outside elements. When that warm, humid air hit's the cold walls of the mask cushion it can easily condensate (think breathing on a cold window). Rainout in the mask is very hard to overcome however heating your room a little will also do the trick. Best wishes mate. Nicko

We Brits especially if OAPs don't pay for medical health but some times getting additional is difficult. We also can't buy are own stuff and mix with the hospital equipment given out. Hello Nick from the great state of New Jersey. I usually put a glass of water in the fridge to really cool down the water chamber before retiring for the night. I enjoy cool moist air before falling asleep. I have humidity and tube temp on auto right now. Unfortunately, the tube heats up too quickly for my taste. Is there a way of retarding the speed at which the tube heats up? BTW, i have learned more about sleep apnea from you in the few vids that i have watched than what i have known for the last 6 years. I remember the good old days of waking up in the middle of the night, mid-winter, near drowning from all the pooled water finally pushing through the tube on the S8. The blue insulation sleeve only did so much. After an almost 10 year break from CPAP, I've just gone to the AS10. I'm finding auto mode to be too warm, so after watching this, I'm confident I can cool it down a bit for tonight. I just signed up to Sleep HQ today and there is some really good stuff from the SD card data import, but it raises more questions than I can list.

Climate on Manual. Temp on 23'C and Humidity on 3. Perfection. Slept all night (7.03 hours) without even needing to get up for a prostate break. Sleep Report 100. Hooray.

Thanks for the video. I am not sure why 30/86 degrees is the default. It seems to be pretty high if I compare (wrongly perhaps) to HVAC settings inside a house that is at least 10 degrees lower. Can you explain? Thanks

Buenas tardes, teniendo en cuenta que en América Latina somos muchísimos los pacientes que usamos estos productos, sería de gran utilidad que hubiera versión en Español de estos videos.

Manual mode decouple tube temp and humidity but you have to deal with consequences, if your tube air isn't heated enough to carry all the humidity that the humidifier is generating then your tube and mask will start to have condensation and you will feel splashes on your face waking you up possibly. Once you play with it for few nights you will discover your favourite settings relative to your season and bedroom temp(air conditioning).Good luck.

I'm in the middle of watching your video. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I just received the machine today and will be using it tonight. Allow me to throw a "what if" out there, lol. What if you're an over the road truck driver who has to take and use the machine every time bedtime comes. Shutting down to go to bed in a number of different states that are at different climates, and where the temperature can be a difference of 20 degrees fahrenheit +, -. Should I just use auto?

G'day, yes if there's a lot of humidity, temp changes then auto will make life easier. Cheers

I run mine in manual. Tube temp set at 21 degrees & humidity at 4. This setting is perfect for me living in Sydney.

Hi Nick. What is the air and humidity level I would put say in June when I go camping using the pro 360 battery

Hi Katrina, tough question mate. If you're using an AirPro and have the humidity and heated tube on then it's going to drain it pretty fast the higher the heated tube / humid settings. Most people use any battery systems with heated tube and humidity completely switched off so that the battery lasts longer. If you are charging it up each day then it might last 1-2 nights with heat and humidity settings on but i would keep them low as to not draw to much battery power. Best wishes matey. Nick . Have fun away camping

I have one of these machines and I live in the USA. Is there any way to have the machine tell you when the water is getting low? Also I notced something on your machine. You have a pressure relief setting, my machine does not have this setting.

Thanks for the video. I struggle with this issue all the time, especially in winter. I am in north Texas and it gets cold sometimes. I am a mouth breather and I routinely wake up very very dry. If I increase the humidity level beyond 5 with a temp of 81 or 82 F , I get a lot of rain out On manual mode. I also have a tube covering that is supposed to help, but it doesn’t seem to do much. Would it benefit me to try the Auto feature instead?

Hi, thanks for the content!!! ¿What happens when the Airsense 10 runs out of water? ¿Does it keep warming the water chamber (and therefore warming the air)?

I purchased the airsense 11 and no matter the temperature I select, the tube doesn't feel warm. Is this normal? Ran the machine on 30°C for a few nights and it was still cold. Resmed looked at the machine and said there was nothing wrong. Long story short, should the tube feel warm during the night? I'm onto my fourth climateline tube in seven months! Cheers, Andrew
