Really wish they had given a completely different ammo type for this than the SR and Stinger rifles. As it stands now, the CQBR is fun to mess around with cat ears but way too expensive to use legitimately. They could have at least given us a nice Red Dot sight for it.

There is a mod that let's you have a reflex sight on it. Otherwise, use the ACOG scope. It works just fine as a "red dot sight". I pretty much prefer the CQBR over the other rifles. Its stats are better than the Stingray (interestingly enough). You can also tap fire single shots out if you want to try and conserve ammo. Let's not forget to mention that it doesn't really make sense for it to use a different ammo type since that .223 rifle rounds is the correct ammo type for it. Then again, the Punisher uses 9mm rounds, the M1903 also uses .223 rounds, the Chicago Sweeper uses 9mm rounds, etc. Either way, I say the CQBR is in the right place using the game's rifle ammo.

I completely disagree. I’ve used it on several runs where I just save it ammo for tough fight and it just melts anything if you’re smart and craft lots of rifle ammo. I’ve used it on hardcore and professional and it can be optimized if you just don’t use snipers a lot. I prefer the bolt action but all 3 rifles are very viable. If it used another ammunition it’d be way too powerful

@@countof3everybodyOD There was never a need to rebalance completion bonus weapons like the Chicago Typewriter and Handcannon, because you have already completed the game by that point. The entire point of completion bonus weapons is that they are absurdly broken. In Re4make the Handcannon is now even more pointless than the Chicago Sweeper. It has become a terrible weapon to use!

Makes you question how Umbrella thought these BOWs would be effective weapons of war. They're highly weak to fire and large caliber conventional weapons. That makes them incredibly ineffective tools in a war setting. The only thing they'd be good for is guerilla-style terrorism attacks on civilian populations. But as soon as a military imposes martial law, there goes your tactical advantage and then you're stuck with unstable, unpredictable, expensively useless tools that are more liable to do you more harm than your enemy. This is the main reason why even if these fictional viruses were able to be real, they wouldn't really be a viable subject of research. If anything, their practical applications are more in line with medical fields than they are as BOWs.

We saw they had a little bit of success in Revelations 1&2, and with the Nemesis program, but they're still way too unstable to have any kind of practical application. Even with blanket destabilization operations. Idk, I get that the US government has been known to experiment with some truly batshit crazy things in pursuit of innovative, next-gen war tech, but.... Something about the whole BOW program makes it hard for me to believe the government, even a fictional US one, would actually throw money at this kind of thing. Especially for decades with little to no turnaround on investment.

The ganados are much better because they are basically soldiers with high pain tolerance and his Head can turn in to a deadly sharp blade.

Yeah I found myself using the killer 7 a lot with cat ears when I went back through to do a 100% treasure run. I really like the feel of the handguns in this game, especially the ones with laser sights. The killer 7 feels great!

That’s why I’m glad they made it use rifle rounds instead of some other ammo type. If you really want to, you can save up rifle rounds and then unload them into a boss that gives you a hard time (Krauser phase 2 on professional for me, always takes out a huge chunk of his HP to make the right more manageable)

Black powder is an older type of gun powder used most often in muzzle loaders, cap & ball revolvers, and civil war era cannons. Smokeless as the name suggests it smokes less, it's a single or double base gun powder used in modern small arms like this M4 (after cordite was obsoleted), it doesn't obscure your vision when shooting nor does it give away your position with a big puff of smoke.

The reason is quite Simple, all rifles in this game does like.. what. 3× or 4× damage to the weakpoint? Maybe more, combined with high rate of fire, it probably bring out a good amount of DPS. The only thing that hold it back is ammo availablity, since in normal playthrough, you mostly use rifle to kill off enemy from afar or deal damage to tough guy.
