I just hit 1,200 rounds through my XP yesterday. It was a mix if six different brands of ammo, four different grains, and JHP & FMJ. Proud to say, not one malfunction of any kind. This is my third pistol form Trevor and I’m happy to report, all three are beyond flawless.

Good to hear. I’ve got a bunch of SS as well, but given how much I shoot, I shoot a lot of reloads.

Shadow System should offer a 200 round ammo gift card with the purchase for the break in cost. I'm thinking about this CR920XP.

I always run at least a few hundred rounds through any pistol that I carry or use for home protection. 1 to get a feel of the gun, 2 to find out what ammo it likes and 3 to make sure it goes boom if I ever needed it to. Now for my range toys, i do the same, just not a few hundred rounds, just find out what it likes and call it a day.

i noticed a significant recoil reduction when I shot +P/hollow point/defensive ammo out of a compensated gun vs non compensated with the same ammo....way more so then when comparing factory ball ammo of the same grains and comp vs non comp

IMO brand new pistols needs to be broken in & lubricated. Out of the box, the pistols I bought are not that well lubricated. I typically shoot them with 147 grain to break them in. After broken in & well lubricated, you then you can shoot 115 grain with no problems & you’ll notice the compensation a lot more. For me, it’s almost like shooting a BB gun. I have a g19 gen 3 & put on a compensator from Radian Weapon. The ramjet + afterburner. And I t’s my edc. It’s night & day for me. Good review!

124 grain and above in the XP. High pressure quality ammo and you won’t have an issue as I didn’t have one!
@ThrashTillDeth852 ай бұрын
Yeah I have an XR920P and I have issue with ammo too. Magtech, S&B, and Fiocchi sometimes have offcenter primer strikes in my gun even after a a thousand or so rounds. Shadow Systems just seems to have very tight chambers that make their guns sometimes not play nice with certain types of ammo (usually reman ammo or guns with hard primers)

Yea I’ve had issues with feeding reloads in their comped guns. Factory is eats no problem in my experience

Go CR920XP if you already have a cr920. You can take the slide off and make a CR920p. Cr920xp is the length of a mr920 but .5 inch thinner.
@HitManJavi022 ай бұрын
I noticed your slide didn’t lock back at 13:30 on the cr920. Is that only with reloads?
@AZoneReviews2 ай бұрын
Good catch. I probably had a high grip and was in inadvertently hitting the slide stop. I don’t have issues with non comped guns locking back, even with powder puff reloads.
@HitManJavi022 ай бұрын
Yeah, I figured it was from u having A high grip and pushing the slide release upwards. I was asking because I noticed mines didn’t lock back with 115 grain factory ammo. I was gonna try 124 grain next, On my cr920.

@@AZoneReviews Great to hear that. I ended up going for a 43X with PSA mags. The mags are ok... I get about one failure every 30 rounds, mainly during slow firing. When practicing drawing from the holster followed by a double tap it works. But still. I'll see if there's a black friday sale on the CR920X and I'll give it a try :D

Bought a CR920XP three different mags, three types of ammo, 115 and 124, same issues! Sent it back for a manufacture warranty!! Currently waiting for it to come back! My MR920P runs great though !

Is a 200 round break-in period
@AZoneReviews2 ай бұрын
That’ll work. In my experience you need 100-500 rds to break these in, especially comped guns.
@baizo_8182 ай бұрын
Got mine yesterday, and this exact same issue happened to me. The gun brand new is just extremely tight and has to be broken in also using hotter ammo helps. My issue went away after about 50 rounds fyi.

I just took my CR920 XP to the range yesterday and I literally had a failure to eject every other round with 115/124/147 grain !!!! It is just the most unreliable gun that I have ever owned, and I have 4 other Shadow systems pistols without any issues but this one is a piece of crap! I spent over 500 rounds, and now it is better, but I still get a failure to eject at list once on every clip, and I am also getting a trigger that occasionally does not reset!
@AZoneReviews2 ай бұрын
I changed my grip a little bit and mitigated that with other comped guns. Sometimes if it doesn’t reset AND you get FTE it’s short stroking
@dustyd66172 ай бұрын
Look at installing a 43x Glock oem recoil spring. That fixed mine. The SS recoil spring felt horribly rough.

Change the recoil spring… or Use 124 Fiochi ammo. Do a couple of mag dumps. Worked for me.

Before shooting, I racked and dry fired a ton for a whole day. Ran 150 rounds of 124 grain ammo without any issues. I even fed 100 rounds of 115 gr monarch ammo through it without any hiccups. It helps to load the magazine's completely for the first 200 shots, making sure to complete the break in session all at once

Had the same issue but I didn’t give up. Stove pipes at first using 115. Changed to a quality 124GR and it fired flawlessly. Later on I got some intermittent FTF so I switched to a lighter recoil spring. Turns out it was the cheap range ammo I was using. No malfunctions after about 1000 rounds
