Hello people from 3 years ago. I’m hear to tell you that their knowledge of Marvel, even now, sucks. Because they didn’t make the choice of battleground- Loki did. Deliberately as a middle finger to Tony Stark. 🤦🏾♀️
@stakk45 жыл бұрын
@@OneWhoDreamsAwake Yes, but Loki was attacking what would become Avengers Tower because it was the heart of resistance. If all of the resistance (Avengers Tower) would have been consolidated in Antarctica, that's probably where Loki would have concentrated his attack first. But then would Tony have been willing to sacrifice himself to keep a nuke from detonating on barren land?
@OneWhoDreamsAwake5 жыл бұрын
stakk4 no... that’s not at all the only reason why he went there. He went there to be able to use the Tesseract to bring the Chitauri to earth through a portal that would sustain itself indefinitely. And to flip off earth, the avengers, and tony. The tower was basically running on a super awesome battery that Loki wanted to use, so he went where the battery was. Are you trying to to say that Tony Stark (before knowing about aliens) should have predicted someone misusing it (from space) and therefore not put the first example of a building using clean sustainable energy in Antartica? Because paranoia? Every single notion you have is based on hindsight. That’s like saying, “how dare the US/NYC build the World Trade Center in the middle of an economic and cultural hub! They should have known better and put it in Antartica and therefore terrorists wouldn’t have attacked them!” Talk about victim blaming.
@OneWhoDreamsAwake5 жыл бұрын
stakk4 additionally, the arc reactor technology used in the tower was a prototype that he plan to put in every one of his facilities in the future. If the film took place in a few years it would have actually had multiple places Loki could have done so.... But he still would’ve picked a densely populated area in order to cause the most damage. That’s how terrorist work. That’s how conquers work. Read history history book. Also, read ANYTHING about Loki and you’ll figure out he loves chaos and destruction. Obviously. Being the Norse god of it and so on.

He had 30+ operational suits at one time, so it can't be that expensive for him. Hawkeye can still Hawkeye, only now he's in an iron Man suit. Falcon can still fly around with wings and stuff, only now he's in an Iron Man suit. And imagine Black Widow doing one of her scissor-leg-throw things, only wearing an Iron Man suit.

It doesn't excuse him to not adapt,but it seems humanly forgivable for him not wanting to change after the shock of losing his ENTIRE world, because his tech-less way may be all that's left of it. 2nd, Loki just sort of showed up in New York with an entire army, righ?.)You can't just herd something like that out of the city.The avengers did the best they could. 3rd, An interview with the Russo brothers confirmed that Cap might wants to give up being cap. That's because he doesn't feel like he's representing the American way anymore, or at least doesn't feel like aligning with any government as the ones the works for now repeatedly breaks his trust. So up to now, donning the red white n' blue was just to show his love for the country and government, which he doesn't feel as strong anymore.If going against the majority to do what's right isn't what we feel America stands for, then I don't know what does.
@GizziesGirl28 жыл бұрын
First off the very idea that Cap is somehow against technology is ridiculous. Cap uses plenty of technology. He used the shield because he didn't want to use weapons that could be more easily lethal, like guns. Cap can do far more with that shield than most of the people he comes across can do with their higher tech stuff. Steve Rogers and his shield took down a fighter jet. Steve Rogers and his shield took out half a hijacked ship, Steve and his shield managed to finally disable Tony's Iron Man suit's arc reactor so he couldn't murder Bucky Barnes. But as for other technology, he uses it all the time in ever film. Heck even in Avengers when he'd been only been out of the for a little over WEEK(yes he really got defrosted and basically thrown into a battle with aliens 70 years in the future) he was already using the tablet to read information about the situation. He uses all sorts of little gadgets, like the listening devise in Winter Soldier for example, like the various communications devices.

This point in particular made zero sense for all of these reasons. I also don't get how that would be uniquely Steve's fault even if it were somehow up to the Avengers, since you could more adequately blame Tony. Anyway even in Avengers' climax Steve's primary concern actually is saving civilians.

It's Monday Morning Quaterbacking. The strategies and tactics that seem obvious when the never before seen crisis is over and adrenaline has stopped pumping aren't in the moments when you have to choose or die. It's like what the movie of Sully is showing how a pilot made a call that saved the life of everyone in his crew but a bunch of people want to second guess that even though it worked. Hell no one's mentioning the absolute insanity of trusting the Nations of the World over the Avengers. IN the Marvel Universe the Avengers ended an alien invasion and saved a lot of lives. Those Nations of the World that think they should tell the Avengers what and how to do their jobs tried to Nuke New York City without any communication with their troops on the ground. For all they knew the nuke would have done nothing but kill everyone. and leave the shielded portal maker still fucking open letting more aliens pour into New York in the after math condemning our world. Now who has shite tactics?

Huh. Normally I'm with these guys but this was... off. Maybe it's just because the MCU is my wheelhouse. Huh. 1- Steve didn't pick the venue of the fight in New York, Loki did. The fight was where the gate was. Steve's plan was to keep the fight centralized to minimize damage outside of the already effed neighborhood. 2- The list was explicitly pop culture stuff that he wrote down when people said; "Hey, check out the thing. He also talked about reading a lot on the Internet to catch up. He shows zero hesitation to learn new tech when he must, but keeps the shield because it works. 3- Did he ever abandon a mission to go after Bucky? Because I don't think he did. 4- Steve's strategy is always pretty spot on in the different situations he ends up in. His campaign against Hydra in WW2 was nearly flawless, his fight strategy in New York did exactly what it was supposed to do, when he realized his team was watching the wrong target he adapted and brought down Crossbones without much fuss save the bomb hit that killed Wakanda. 5- The Winter Soldier and Civil War are pretty much two whole movies of Steve questioning authority. So this vid only really works if you don't know much about Rogers. Is that why other videos are funny? Because I don't get those properties? CURSES!

Billionaire whose parents were murdered, inherited billions, uses it to make gadgets and fight bad guys? Super smart, in the comics he had a secret identity, adopts young proteges (Spiderman and Riri), has a British butler, a human who deals with a guy with super strength that supposedly embodies American Ideals, a figure out of mythology, a dude with a bow and arrow, and even a super speed dude for a while. Yeah, weird. How is he like Batman?

@@MorganMalfoy13 all the things you just stated are very vague outlines of many superhero characters. That outline could be Green Arrow or Black Panther etc etc The psychology of the batman character is completely different from the iron man character. Batman is an obsessed, extremely disciplined crime fighter...while tony is a alcoholic self absorbed tech billionaire. I always thought Tony Stark was more like what the average person would become if they inherited a fortune, happened to be a genius .... They would become a genius billionare playboy philanthropist... while batman was the more extreme outcome. ( i probably did a really poor job explaining that)

No, Reed Richards is clearly Marvel's Batman. The fact that he has a super power is overshadowed by the fact that he's naturally the smartest man on the planet and can come up with an invention/plan to solve any problem. The only Marvel character that is _written_ anywhere near like Batman (totally infallible ordinary human brain) is Mr. Fantastic.
@MrMitchellb108 жыл бұрын
It is true that he has unshakable morals, but that doesn't mean that he always does the right thing, and in fact, his unshakable morals might cause him to do the wrong things because he is unwilling to change his point of view. I mean, think about it: he was the cause of the civil war, because he wasn't willing to be put in check, and decided that Bucky didn't deserve punishment, because he is his friend, and because Bucky didn't have control of his actions. But that isn't his decision to make! But because he has his "unbreakable morals" he doesn't care. He, as an individual, does not have the right to decide who/ how the government punishes people, especially terrorists/ assassins! But because he believes 'his' way is right, he fights the American government, and his own team, specifically, because he doesn't want his friend to get hurt! He even ropes people in to fight for him, not because they think he is right, but because they think that because he is "Captain America" therefore he can't have bad intentions and therefore can't be wrong.And because He cares more about Bucky than justice he does everything to keep him from that justice, he even kept the fact that Bucky killed Tony's parents from Tony! There is no reason for him to do that, except to protect Bucky. And even Bucky in the movie isn't sure that he deserves redemption, but Cap always puts Bucky first, even if that would mean losing! example: The winter soldier, instead of making sure that hydra is completely taken care of, Cap ends it with a fist fight between himself and Bucky, putting the possible outcome of the entire nation on whether or not Bucky (who is brainwashed!) chooses to be good. And think about it! If the other situations (with Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Falcon) didn't work out, and Captain America was needed to stop hydra, he wouldn't have. Because he cared more about Bucky than he did America! Because he chose trying to help Bucky over saving the country! CAPTAIN AMERICA IS A FRAUD!!! . . . He should be called Captain Bucky.......

Bane's Enhanced strength is actually higher than Cap's, based on numbers we have, actually. Bane's maximum healthy Venom injection gives him a 3-4 ton lift strength. While Cap's official lift strength according to Marvel caps out at 1,200 pounds, which is not even a ton. Naturally, this is comic books, so neither of these is consistant and they both often get higher than that (Especially in films). But Bane's enhanced strength is on a different scale than Cap's.

+David Parker-Hunt Just to be clear Lennox wrote "mutate", not "mutant". According to Marvel comics the difference is that a mutant is either born with powers or born genetically destined to manifest powers (e.g., X-Men). A mutate is any character that is mutated through external/environmental influences to have powers (e.g., Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, most versions of the Hulk, etc.). Cap could be considered a mutate if you say that the serum gave him powers, and similarly Widow in the comics was given some kind of serum to slow her aging. Widow in the movies could be argued as one depending on what exactly they did to her in that "Red Room".

I'm going to be that person Captain America isn't anything like Batman. Batman isn't the end-all, be-all of superheros. stop comparing every superhero to Batman. Here's a breakdown of the video and all it's faults 1. Cap doesn't use gadgets: - Tony's magnetic gauntlet for his shield in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron - Knows how to fly the SHIELD's state of the art Quinjet and probably all other modern transports - Utilizes basic SHIELD and Avengers field tech/communication devices - Effectively leads and delegates people who do use tech i.e. Iron Man, The Falcon A. Other Captain Americas in the comics use tech - Sam Wilson (The Falcon) in the comics talks to birds for communication 2. He used vibranium for a frisbee: - Howard Stark made the shield - Vibranium is an extremely rare substance and the shield is about all they have, who in their right mind would risk melting that down and possibly fucking it up beyond use. the only people who properly know about the materiel, know how to construct it, and have some to spare are the Wakandans and they are an extremely isolationist country who even now with their king warming up to Steve would most likely refuse to make anything for him (Ultron was able to make a body with stolen vibranium because he's a Joss Whedon super villain with 'all the knowledge ever') - it's symbolic and it works for him, he's not a picky guy 3. They're back to Cap not using tech: - he uses tech about as much as other non-tech superheros in the mcu (Hawkeye, Black Widow) just because he's not a gadget whore doesn't mean he doesn't know or use a reasonable amount of modern technology on missions or in everyday life 4. He blew up New York: - Loki was going to use Stark Tower in New York regardless of anything cap or anyone else did, it was a part of his plan before Coulson even died, maybe even before that -The Chitauri and Loki were already on their way or in Loki's case already in New York while the Avengers were still licking their wounds over the shit that happened on the helicarrier and were just figuring out Loki's plan - He wasn't the leader of the Avengers at the time, Tony was calling most of the shots because RDJ's contract stipulates all movies with him in it must be about him - How badly did you need to stretch for this one though, really? did no one bother to even re-watch the movie before trying to make this??? all these points are bad in this video but this one is the second to worse one 5. Captain America being (somehow) responsible for New York makes it his fault that for Tony's mistakes and all other subsequent fall outs including but not limited to - The Sokovia disaster, Zemo's revenge, The Sokovia Accords, the death of Bruce Wayne's parents, the plague, etc: - No. - This is the worst point btw. 6. Civil War killed lots of people and continues to kill people: - All of the Civil War part of Civil War killed less than a handful of people and continues to kill no one. 7. Regarding tactics and the beginning mission in Civil War: - The mission was a reconnaissance mission. this requires a lot of people standing around and doing the same thing called reconnaissance. what else should people be doing other than the purpose of the mission which was to scope out for Crossbones. - With the obvious mistake that cost lives (of which Cap would agree was his fault), they succeeded at their primary mission to neutralize Crossbones and secondary mission to contain a deadly pathogen. - A SWAT team would not have been able to stop Crossbones 8. He abandons his missions for Bucky and only know where one friend is: - He didn't abandon any mission to go after Bucky. he wasn't on any mission in Civil War, in fact because he didn't sign the accords he was technically forcibly retired. same in the Winter Soldier, he fought Bucky to complete the mission to take down the Insight Hellicarrier and only after that was accomplished did he throw down his shield. the only 'mission' he abandoned for Bucky was in the First Avenger where he ditched the propaganda tour to try to find and rescue him and other POWs in Italy during WW2, the act that effectively made him a hero - Cap believes in the civil liberties of all people and would disapprove of tracking Thor or Hulk. 9. He's unorganized because he didn't notice or stop the Sokovia Accords - He wouldn't have been able to stop it - Tony only barely knew about the Accords, it was most likely a pretty well hidden secret - Every one else in the Avengers including Rhodey, a member of the US military, just found out about it too 10. He's too trusting, he's a walking symbol of America, something about Donald Trump: - He specifically doesn't sign the accords because he doesn't trust the government - Cap isn't a part of the american government anymore, not like he used to be. he was a member of SHIELD (an international spy agency), and then the Avengers (an international superhero agency) - Look to someone like Rhodey (War Machine) for a more political figure who very much so represents the american military and government. even Tony Stark has more ties to this as someone who used to develop arms and tech specifically for the U.S. military - Cap wears the american flag because he's supposed to represent the best ideals that America is supposed be: freedom, tolerance, justice, etc. it's his Superman 'S'. he also wears it because he's a propaganda comicbook character created in the 1940s - It shows just how much removed from the american government Cap is that his mistake in Africa makes the UN take a case to the Avengers, not the U.S. he doesn't cause WW3 by any of the actions he makes in Civil War and if he was as tied to the government as this says he is that probably would have been the case 11. Cap is apolitical - Yes - If this is a fault than here you go you got one, in both the comics and the movies Steve Rogers insists on not taking specific political sides believing that it is an abuse of his status as a public figure. he does however speak out openly regarding freedoms, tolerance, human rights and the like. he knows he can't change the system, he tries to change people's hearts instead i wrote this monster because i'm a horrible loser that has no life and this peeved me in just the right (wrong?) way. i want to say it was fun...but it wasn't. now i know what it must be like to be an After Hours writer.

There's a very narrow set of heroes to look at in MCU and if you were to create a video game stat sheet, Capt America's would be just more well-rounded in physical stats, but not insanely high. Black Panther has similar super strength, speed, and such, as does Bucky with just a metal arm. Peter Parker, etc., and Black Widow is just as an effective fighter (if not better in strategy). You see how I mean? Capt's abilities are less impactful compared to the 15 heroes we have in the MCU. Vs DC where TONS of heroes have no super powers, and Batman's ability sheet would include technology, reasoning, and strategy. It's not anything against Capt, just that the directors'/movie writers' choices limited what he should really compared to the comics. The real problem is Steve acting in other countries with no authority. It's the one problem with the Avengers post-SHIELD. When they worked for SHIELD, they could go wherever SHIELD had the authority to send them (which is nebulous enough in itself). But when Black Widow wikileaked all of SHIELD/Hydra's secrets and Cap crashed the hellastupid-carriers, they became private citizens who just show up in whatever country they think needs their help. Altruistic, maybe, but most people would characterize what he does as invasion. The whole point of the Sokovia Accords was to give them that authority again. And yeah, so they'd have to answer to someone else; but Steve's a soldier, so he should have *some* respect for the need for a chain of command. Without it, any six or seven guys could just say "Hey, I don't like what's going on in Afghanistan, let's pop in there real quick and take out some terrorists. Don't worry; I've got a shield."

cap is apolitical. he is only "american" because he was american in the pre-WW2 era, when it was easier to believe the american government WAS good. in an era of more information, and a different global political reality, he falls back on the ideologies of DEMOCRACY and civil liberties for all, that led him to be the patriot he was in his original time. those beliefs are often incongruant with "patriotism" to america, in modern times...because it is too easy to see that the political leaders aer not worthy of his patriotism. he is cap'n america because he fully supports the fundamental ideals of the nation, not the nation itself. that is what makes him a patriot...not the star-spangled outfit. he will always stand-up for those exploited or marginalized people, first and for most. if that leads him into conflict with his government, he still will fight for what is "right" in his eyes. that is the one thing the MCU got most right about the fundamental aspects of any marvel character thus far. Cap wont abide bullies.

Sahil, I tend to agree - He should just change his outfit and name. This was covered in the 1980s, when that is exactly what he did, when he discovered government corruption and ceased to trust SHIELD. All of which happened basically like it did in Winter Soldier, but in the MCU, he kept his outfit. (Because - branding) Context matters. MCU Cap woke up 60 years later, was handed his old gear, by his old "boss" (some form of the American government), and told to keep doing his job. Try empathizing with the drastically different socio-political reality in America in the era when Steve Rodgers was a child/teen. Then he goes and fights some nazis/hydra. Wakes up in 2010, and the lines are not so clear. Do any of you honestly think you would adapt to the last 50 years so easily (as essentially a 22 year-old)? The entire point of Captain America is to show the disconnect between the ideological belief, left over from the eras of WW1, and WW2...that Americans were riding on throughout the cold-war, but which has not been congruent with reality for a long time now. Even so, many Americans refuse to acknowledge that the political landscape is radically different, and that American is not the "best", simply because we were sold that meme in the 40s and 50s, and want to keep believing it. Most Americans have resisted admitting the change in reality, even though they lived through it. Now you expect a man who literally "time-jumped" from 1944 to 2010, to come to grips with modern reality immediately. This is why they only make stupid movies now, because anything with a bit of gradation can not be perceived. It is a perfect metaphor for reality. Stop an alien invasion, that would have destroyed all of humanity (or at the very least millions of people), and get blamed because 42 people died in NY. 42. This is the same mentality of the 80s that led to law suits because I spilled my coffee on my lap...and it is YOUR fault. Humanity does not deserve "heroes". 40 years ago there was no color T.V. and if you wanted to see a movie at all, you had to go to a theater. If you wanted to learn about anything, you had to go to a library, and hope they had a book on what you wanted to know. Our history books lied to us also, but at least we did not have the means to easily find other sources of information. Now you have the sum of all human knowledge accessible from a device in your pocket, and are often being fed a tasty ideology to believe. So what exactly is the modern excuse for blindly following an ideology?

Not entirely correct. Batman's personality and style was there early on. But the Silver Age of comics came around and ruined that. When Daredevil was created, Miller was basically doing what was being done with Batman at the time (Bronze age), but better. Miller basically got hired on to just do a better version of what was already being done, because he did basically just that with Daredevil. In response to Daredevil directly, DC established Nightwing, having Robin basically give up all the tech and turn to escrima sticks.

That attitude in an actual battle situation, sure, he’d probably get respect for that action, there’s a story here and there of some soldiers that threw themselves on grenades in actual battle situations to save their mates and some lived (for better or worse) to talk about it. But the difference is those were all battle situations... that scene was in a boot camp. Tommy Lee Jones comes off as a crazy old guy for trying to make a point in a situation where none of them should be proving that point because why the hell would you? They’re still at home, the enemy wasn’t right next door or anything! So Cap throwing himself on that grenade... that just kinda comes off as really stupid. From the viewpoint of somebody that was alive before the MCU, no one was calling Iron Man--or Captain America--Marvel's Batman before the Avengers movies. If we took an honest look at Iron Man, we'd probably admit that we liked it so much because it was good to see Robert Downey Junior getting work again.

I don't agree with all the point made here (Black Panther is the Batman of Marvel, and a better Batman to boot). But I will say that a great deal of the conflict in Civil War was because Steve Rogers was an idiot, selfish, and short-sighted. Not even the most terrible of his sins was deciding that he knew better than the United Nations and took an international incident into his own hands.

The whole argument is dumb because of how many basic facts they get wrong. How exactly was Captain America supposed to "lure Loki out" when the entire reason Loki set up the portal in New York was to take advantage of the Arc Reactor Tony built into Stark Tower? They're accusing Cap of bad tactics but ignoring that Cap was reacting to Loki's actions and didn't have the options they are accusing him of not taking. Cap's tactics were entirely appropriate for the situation: Contain the damage to the smallest area they could control, evacuate civilians, and maximize the effectiveness of his arsenal of tools. Also, Nomad's costume was blue and yellow. Captain America dressed in the black outfit as The Captain when the US government claimed to have own the rights to the Captain America identity and tried to use that claim to bring Cap under government control.
@GutterBallEZ8 жыл бұрын
Also, it was a pretty darn good plan considering Cap had only been thawed out, what, two weeks MCU time when Loki happened? He was still getting around the idea of it not being the 1940s anymore, and yet he didn't flip out at Tony's suit (he was friends with Howard, after all) and helped fix the helicarrier (all jokes about "some form of electricity" aside) and didn't have much problem figuring out the most efficient ways to shield-bash tech-wielding aliens from another dimension. With his useless vibranium Frisbee that defies physics. Despite still having trouble with that whole not-the-1940s-since-two-weeks-ago thing. And by the time Winter Soldier rolled around, he's using touchscreen tablets, smartphones, HUDs, and sophisticated aircraft just fine. It's not that Cap isn't a tech guy. He's smart and adaptable and learns the tech just fine. It's that he's reluctant allies with Tony Stark, who has an existential crisis every time someone brings attention to the fact that, genius or not, he can't stop bad things from happening and tries to do it anyway. Which inevitably makes all the things worse. Cap's MCU job has become avoiding shady government oversight (SHIELD/HYDRA is only the tip of the iceberg there), cleaning up Tony Stark's messes, and trying desperately to hold onto the few people he can still call friends -- Bucky Barnes, Peggy Carter, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanov, Wanda Maximoff, etc. -- because everything he had before is gone forever. Thus far, even through Civil War (because we all watched the codas, right?), he's doing a pretty darn good job. Sorry. I gotta defend Cap. He's not my favorite, but he's always stood up for the little guy (including himself). Someone has to stand up for him at least once.

My main problem with Cap in Civial War his focus was on Bucky. And he seem to be his "only" friend. He didn't treat Tony as a friend. Which is kind of sad. Tony is holding it together best as he could and even BEG Cap to sign up of fearing he would lose his friend. What did cap do? blew him off and went to Bucky. I get behind Tony when he start to hate him seeing the real Cap. And even all of that, Tony was willing to fight alongside of Cap after the error that he had made. Then they threw in the killing the parents bit. Again Cap wasn't there, instead protected Bucky in the end, Cap went with Bucky and threw down the shield. Why not hand the shield? and say I'll contact you or even say Sorry? No he dropped the shield and left. wth. Tony isn't in the right Mind and is in the wrong here I get that but to do that to a best friend? That would only take 2 minutes to do. I know Cap later on contacted Tony but still that little bit rubbed me the wrong way. Cap acts like a friend if it suits him or else he would ignore them unless they are seen as a threat. He should know Tony enough to see that he is break down inside yet he did nothing. Why I don't like Cap in the movies.

@Big_Dai8 жыл бұрын
Well, you might see it as "focus on Bucky".. but that is sort of wrong. Something as big as an attack to the UN is related to him, so of course you start there. If Bucky wasn't it, he could know the reason why it happened. As a detective, that would be your first link! He had to prevent them from killing him, in order to get information. Unknown to them, it also attracted the real threat, allowing to get more information on his objective. Then, Team Stark didn't trust him.. it was written so that Cap and Bucky went to stop Zemo. In the end, you just can't let someone kill someone else simply because! It's dumb. Also, Cap treated Tony as a friend until the end! HE was the reasonable one. 1) There was no resolution to the Zokovia accords because of Zemo and Bucky going mad again.. Things might have been different and he might have signed.. but priorities. 2) Also, Cap didn't kill him or let him kill someone needlessly.. don't your friends prevent you from doing something you might regret later? 3) Not telling him is reasonable, knowing how mad Stark is (Ultron?) and useless, as the parents are dead. 4) Not handing the shield or even saying sorry? Stark was pissed, and he wouldn't have listened anyway. Cap was tired.. and probably a bit mad, but he kept his mouth and emotions shut until later. Also, he probably knows that it's not about making himself look better, but making the situation better.

Both use their brain, Bruce as a detective and Tony to build everything, it's kind of their superpower; they also both are able to bankroll their group; they come from tragic backgrounds. I'm sure there are more areas where they overlap. I love all the flaws they point out. It's like they are reading my brain! lol

Although origins and gender are different.... Captain America as far as things go is the Marvel equivalent to DC's Wonder Woman, in terms of strength and intellect and commonality in any weaponry they use. And Superman's equivalent since I keep seeing this crap in the comments, is HYPERION, HE IS AN EXACT CLONE, sans Kryptonite.

***** Its hard to say, I mean without her bracers, oh fuck yes, she can make Artemis cry mercy, but with them on, she has a huge weakness that Cap can exploit being Male. I'm stating more so similarities, and clone like abilities. Wonder Woman is yes physically stronger, but when you watch her in shows and cinema... you know... its like... she ain't that amazing. She never really looks like she can do far more than Cap could with the same equipment. Either way, she reminds me of Cap in her actions, personality and abilities. That and they both fought in World War 2 XD

DoubleFailMech Its the new 52 shit. After the flashpoint paradox, taking off her bracelets causes her to go into a berserk state.
@xeltanni89998 жыл бұрын
Umm... 1) What "huge weakness" does Wonder Woman have that Captain America can exploit due to being male? 2) Captain America is "peak human" in his abilities, meaning that he lifts around 800 lbs (putting him at "peak human" ability for a man of his height, weight and muscle mass), runs 30 mph and can jump 30 feet. Wonder Woman in her weakest incarnation (second-weakest, I should say, because for a time in the seventies she didn't have powers at all) outstrips these benchmarks many, many times over. 3) Marvel has literally half a dozen Superman rip-offs (and usually villains) of which Hyperion is only one and not even the closest one. For that look to Gladiator. 4a) I understand you were talking about powers, but if you want to talk about "what makes a character" then yes, Captain America is Marvel's Superman. They are both the embodiments of what most of Western society views as virtuous, and the fact Supes could tear Cap in half without breaking a sweat doesn't matter. Wonder Woman's Marvel analog is actually Thor: they are gods from ancient warrior cultures who leave their homelands (places out of time) to protect the modern world. Both are the best warriors from their realms, they are equally matched in terms of strength, speed and durability (both are super durable against blunt force trauma but Thor wears mail and Diana wears bracers (not bracelets) to buff their defense verses firearms/projectiles) and they use magical items to enhance their already formidible abilities: Thor just has an all-in-one thing with Mjolnir while Diana has her lasso, tiara, sword and shield. 4b) Batman doesn't really have a Marvel counterpart... or, rather, he has many. Like Supes, The Bat is duplicated quite a lot in Marvel, but they aren't as *painfully obvious* as the Superclones. The top contender and most like Batman is Nighthawk (though there've been a lot of different versions of that character) but since he (like Hyperion) was a lambaste of The Justice League, I don't really count him as #1. Instead i would say that Black Panther is the Marvel Batman. Everyone says "Iron Man" but other than being rich (which many heroes are) and orphans, they have nothing in common. Batman has more in common with Spider-Man than Iron Man (I'm saying that without irony) although Spidey also rips off Supes in a lot of ways so... whatever.
@Prince_Smugarina8 жыл бұрын
***** Not reading all that. If a man ties Wonder Woman's wrists(with bracers on) together, she loses ALL OF HER POWER. And wrong on Cap's uhh strength cap. Since he can lift 1100+lbs easily,and he considers it just a warm-up, no sweat. I compared them in terms of cinematic values, comics are a corn maze 20 miles long and wide. Also, before you say Hyperion isn't the closest clone, you don't seem to understand that Hyperion has every single power Superman has, no more, no less. Furthermore, like superman, he gains power from the sun. Oh and he's an Alien whose planet was destroyed. The difference... he's the one who destroyed it usually, lol Oh and Gladiator... his powers are basically god-modding. So long as he has no doubt his strength is immeasurable and infinite, but if he doubts he becomes weak.... ~facepalm~ He's also apparently stronger than Superman, able to move a planet by himself, no help.

and actually cap had nothing to do with Loki choosing stark tower. he needed a stable power source. and the only one that is off the grid and is large enough is the new arc reactor tony built. a lot of the things that happens is that Hawkeye knew that they could get shield to pull Tony away from his house for a couple of days on a wild goose Chase. those were tactics that the shield agents knew how to enforce as they are all spies. especially hawkeye since he's a highly ranked shield agent it's not at all difficult to see that once he got Barton he gained a near full proof way to get what he wanted. the real problem was since pepper wasn't at the tower she wouldn't have been there to call for help when random people were schlepping tech to the roof.

Admittedly, a lot of the issues the Avengers face isn't exactly their fault. Even if they led the Chitauri out of New York, the portal was still open over Stark Tower, so New York would've actually been in more danger without Avengers protecting it. Additionally, the US military decided to launch a nuke at the city, hoping that everything would sort itself out, so the Avengers did actually save the world. As for Ultron, Tony technically made him because of a vision that Scarlet Witch gave to him at the start of the movie. As for the Sokovia Accords and Civil War, Rogers can't be called a rebel when Tony broke the Accords when it benefited him. To quote HISHE, it should have really been called the Tony Stark Accords.

I agree Cap sucks but you missed the main reasons. Got close near the end though, in first avenger he definitely decided to be a soldier and take orders from the government in order to save the world from a guy who thought might makes right and he could do whatever he wants as long as he thought it was right across any borders because he thought he could kick anyone's ass, then in Civil War he rejected being a solder and taking orders from the government because might makes and he can do whatever he wants across any borders as long as he thought it was right because he could kick anyone's ass.

I usually love love love After Hours but this one was just weak. I think the very idea of seeing Steve as a superhero is wrong. From the start, his job was to be a super soldier, someone with enough bravery and tactics to be seen as less than he truly is, what he proves again and again with skill and brains, all put together in an overly strong human being. There's also the need to separate Steve Rogers from Captain America, the image of who he was supposed to be, the symbol from the actual human being. Steve's patriotism comes in the form of doing what is truly right instead of what's easy and calling him the worst Avenger is just beyond imagination to me. In fact, I find him far more interesting than Tony in every single way.

Something that a lot of people don't seem to realize is that Cap's greatest power doesn't come from his Super Soldier Serum, it comes from his heart. He leads and inspires his team and everyone around him, I read a comic book setted during the Civil War event where Cap was killed and everyone on both sides of the conflict was heavily effected in their own way. Even the Pro-Registers who were at odds with Cap were stricken with grief, regret, anger and frustration. He's the literal incarnation of everything that America is. America's strength comes from the people, Cap's strength comes from his team and those he loves. America is a land of Freedom, and Justice, Cap defends the freedoms and rights of everyone. America home of the brave, Cap would give up everything to protect the people and his team, and did just that when he died; he gave his life hoping to save all those who followed.

Tony may be a superficial Marvel Batman, but Cap is much more like Batman in an ideological way. Both characters are deeply rooted in their ideals and are willing to do more, with or without political support. They're both idealistic rebels in comparison to Iron Man and Superman who want their government to have a say in their actions. They operate outside the system because they don't trust in it, and who can blame them, with characters like Nick Fury and Amanda Waller running government agencies they understand these people are motivated by having an edge, not by doing what is best for the people.
@Skribduex8 жыл бұрын
Which is why he's so keen on taking care of Bucky, especially in Civil War where (spoiler alert) his past love interest died leaving him as his only true friend. Can you imagine growing up one way and then being dropped into the future where everyone sees you as a relic, to an extent. Of coarse he's going to catch up on non-political things, it's the only way he'll be able to have real/normal interactions with people. He doesn't comment on politics because he knows he doesn't know enough. All he knows is what's right and what's wrong, which is the best way for a hero to operate.

Elmin Legend Superman as a whole is more willing to be cooperative with them. Which isn't a bad thing either, Clark and Tony aren't being push overs they are characters who feel they should trust and work together. Granted, with the comics being so vast and full of different writers, eras, and continuities there's a counterpoint for every point made. Which, getting back to the video, is my point, you can't boil any of these characters down to a simple "he's right, he's wrong".
@Sefoskiii8 жыл бұрын
I understand your point but I disagree. Being cooperative is one thing. Taking orders, like Tony in Civil War, is another thing entirely. Clark would side with Cap in Civil War. Superman is all about freedom. Even though there are some big problems with the DCEU's Superman, one thing they did get right was the fact that he's not willing to be controlled by the US government. "You're afraid of me because you can't control me. You don't. And you never will. But that doesn't mean that I'm your enemy". I mean, those words could've easily come out of Cap's mouth in Civil War and it wouldn't have sounded weird.
