There is so much right with this song. Listening for the 17 years it has been available. This was recommended by a student fairly early in my ELA teaching career. The first time I ever heard cradle it was a track from thornography. It shortly lead me to this song. My younger high school self didn't realize it but I had become a metalhead for life. ***** Totally right. For the longest time, Phil Anselmo was the heaviest I cared for. Then I had a room mate who constantly played hardcore and death metal. I have always liked some classical music, so the music appealed to me right away, but "If only the singer would shut the fuck up". Before long, Darkest Hour, Something Must Die, and Black Dahlia murder were some of my favorites, vocals and all, and over a decade later, still are. This was an easy transgression as I was already really into thrash. Davey's vocals still haven't grown on me over the years, but I still listen to them. To "TimedRevolver". If you like this but don't like the vocals much, you may want to check out Nightwish.

First Cradle song I remember hearing. I was 17 and in my first year of college, it was Winter in 2004, and this came on Scuzz TV one evening. Damn! I was straight down HMV that weekend to buy the CD! Even thogh it's 20 years later, every single Winter, I find myself pulled so nostalgically to that one year and all of the music videos that played on Kerrang! and Scuzz TV at that time. This one (along with Korn's "Word Up!" and the Queen of the Damned soundtrack) will always be at the forefront
