I was 16 when harddrive radio played it in 2004. I'm 33 now. Song is 17 years old. The track is timeless for sure. Are you sure you weren't younger? Because there is only a 4 year difference between 17 years and 13 years. 25 and 12 is 13 years apart.

Lyrics Led to the river midsummer, I wave A "V" of black swans on, with hope, to the grave And through red September, with skies fire-paved I begged you appear like a thorn for the holy ones Cold was my soul and untold was the pain I faced when you left me a rose in the rain So I swore to the razor that never enchained Would your dark nails of faith be pushed through my veins again Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness And would you ever soon come above unto me? For once upon a time, from the binds of your lowliness I could always find the right slot for your sacred key Six feet deep is the incision In my heart, that barless prison Discolors all with tunnel vision (Sunsetter) Nymphetamine Sick and weak from my condition This lust, this vampiric addiction To her alone in full submission (None better) Nymphetamine Nymphetamine, nymphetamine Nymphetamine girl Nymphetamine, nymphetamine My nymphetamine girl Wracked with your charm, I'm circled like prey Back in the forest where whispers persuade More sugar trails, more white lady laid Than pillars of salt Fall to my arms, hold their mesmeric sway And dance out to the moon as we did in those golden days Christening stars, I remember the way We were needle and spoon, mislaid in the burning hay Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness And would you ever soon come above unto me? For once upon a time, from the bind of your holiness I could always find the right slot for your sacred key Six feet deep is the incision In my heart, that barless prison Discolors all with tunnel vision (Sunsetter) Nymphetamine Sick and weak from my condition This lust, this vampiric addiction To her alone in full submission (None better) Nymphetamine Nymphetamine (None better) Nymphetamine Nymphetamine, nymphetamine Nymphetamine girl Nymphetamine, nymphetamine My nymphetamine girl

Cradle or Filth has the most beautiful lyrics of any band I have ever listened to. It doesn't hurt that Dani has an English degree (like me!) The words he uses brings the song to life, and you can close your eyes and visualize every word he sings! Who knew metal could be so illustrative, so romantic!!

I dunno. I mean, I love Cruelty & the Beast to listen to, but I tried reading the lyrics and had to give up as they're just too daft. But, I've always liked music more than lyrics anyway so prefer the overall sound, and it's good that the lyrics work for those who like them more than I do.

Dark, beautiful, sad, poetic, emotional song. Also an amazing collab. You don't really find music like this anymore. It's really sad that most people in the comments are around my age, there's no doubt this music along with the other bands of my childhood doesn't really reach many kids today. I remember back in school it was more popular to be into rock and metal, and join bands and all that. People seem to channel their energy and emotion much differently.

This song gives me so much nostalgia. I've always loved gothic style and culture. I never had an opportunity to immerse myself in it the way I wanted, for one reason or another. I'm nearing 30 now, but I still like to window shop online for gothic furniture, clothes, etc. I know it's mindset rather than a fashion statement, but it's just something that has always interested me. Does anyone else relate?

Old music is so depressing because it always reminds you of a good time in your life. But what I quickly learnt in life is that it's okay to be sad about that good feeling because life isn't all about that one good feeling, it's about making so many more for when your time comes you can reflect on a whole movie of good memories and not just one you tried to hold onto forever. This is just my 4am deep thoughts

Lyrics: Led to the river midsummer, I wave A "V" of black swans on, with hope, to the grave And through red September, with skies fire-paved I begged you appear like a thorn for the holy ones Cold was my soul and untold was the pain I faced when you left me a rose in the rain So I swore to the razor that never enchained Would your dark nails of faith be pushed through my veins again Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness And would you ever soon come above unto me?

***** Totally right. For the longest time, Phil Anselmo was the heaviest I cared for. Then I had a room mate who constantly played hardcore and death metal. I have always liked some classical music, so the music appealed to me right away, but "If only the singer would shut the fuck up". Before long, Darkest Hour, Something Must Die, and Black Dahlia murder were some of my favorites, vocals and all, and over a decade later, still are. This was an easy transgression as I was already really into thrash. Davey's vocals still haven't grown on me over the years, but I still listen to them. To "TimedRevolver". If you like this but don't like the vocals much, you may want to check out Nightwish.

James Windolf I actually do like Nightwish. As for the vocals, I don't mind the screaming if the song has some form of melody. Slipknot would be a good example, i think. Corey does a lot of screaming, but he adds in melody too.

TimedRevolver If you have not heard or listen to them: Five finger death punch do the same, but in some songs it's just screaming while others it's both melody and scream or just meldoy.

OfficalRavoos I like Five Finger Death Punch. Far Frome Home and Undone are awesome, as is Over and Under It, which is the perfect example of what I like; the mix of screaming with a melodic chorus.

I am actually listening and wondering WTH is this dong on "all time best of groove metal" playlist. Really, CoF was always meh, but after Nymphetamine they completely sold out. Than again, you are listening to Korn, it would seem. I don't know if that's an improvement, step back, or a lateral move...

First Cradle song I remember hearing. I was 17 and in my first year of college, it was Winter in 2004, and this came on Scuzz TV one evening. Damn! I was straight down HMV that weekend to buy the CD! Even thogh it's 20 years later, every single Winter, I find myself pulled so nostalgically to that one year and all of the music videos that played on Kerrang! and Scuzz TV at that time. This one (along with Korn's "Word Up!" and the Queen of the Damned soundtrack) will always be at the forefront
