I live about 600 miles from where I grew up but still consider it "home" after 40 years away. It always brings me joy when I go back. It's comforting driving on familiar streets even though it's quite a bit different than it was growing up in the 60's. Your journal cards are sweet. I love the way you collaged them.

Glad you are feeling better or more a peace today, that is a great feeling. I wore patent leather shoes and the little white sandals that went between big and middle toe and buckled around the ankle in the summer. Great journal cards!💕😺Amy

My grandmother always said that her gift to us was living each mom of her life to the fullest, owning her own life. Your comment about living your own life reminded me of this and it is true. Our greatest gift to Grandchildren and children is the example of a life well lived. Enjoyed another hour of knitting while you Chatted and crafted. Lol no we were not allowed to wear shinny shoes because they reflected what you were wearing under your dresses. Oh how times have changed

Probably a good idea to not be moving, Gayle. If neither of you really want to "now"....it's nice that you both agree! You can always rearrange things to help with more space. And bookshelves, are such a blessing....I notice you have things in ziploks...what would we do without our little plastic bags?! Lol... This Boho journal has been a FUN adventure. The colors are so vibrant and pretty! And, like you, bunnies are one of my favorite things. Inside the house, and outside! They are always in our yard. Your boho journal is the most gorgeous and (boho-est) I have seen,love love it. Gayle you grand- daughters will be able to stay by themselves for a couple hours before you know it. I am praying for meds that will control your daughters health. Have fun on your trip.🐰🐇

so happy you and mike made your decision, sounds like the right one and bunny is happy your staying. everything will work out.... i have actually finished a few rolls of washi tape over the years-it's always a major milestone! i also used to burn around the edges and burn a hole thru a paper to give it a distressed look-how funny that seems now. you are one of the 'cool kids' gayle, i heard you say "totes adorbs" and had to jot it down. i'm not up on the cool sayings as much these days, but now i have one i can use! lol LUV the journal cards you made today. hugs

Love these xx. It’s. Such a hard decision to move house. We did it when the kids were 21 & 18. We toured and worked around Australia for 6 years. We then put down roots in my hometown. Now the kids have joined us with their partners and kids. A hard decision turned out really well. Sounds like you guys have done the right thing for you. The bunny said so 😂😂🥰❤️🥰

I used to burn the edges of paper. Now I do paper tearing by hand or with a ruler. Just a tidbit on using a ruler for tearing when you only have a small strip to tear, if you can't place the ruler on the smaller end like you did, I use tweezers to grab the small strip to tear. Another option is to cut it with scissors and use a distressing tool on that edge.

The gold paper that you used at 26:50 is called Joss paper. It is burned in rituals to honor the dead, and other spiritual events. I have some and have been reluctant to use it, but since you did, I think I will too!

In regards to the season 3 of Stranger things... they filmed it here in Georgia the Gwinnett Mall. I worked at the Claires in the late 90s as an assistant manager. So as I watched I was laughing to myself because they didnt have to do to much to change anything to make it so retro looking. I think I was at a restuarant less than a mile away when the landed a helicopter for the scene. My closest brush with fame LOL

I was thinking about doing the "distress by fire" technique just the other day out of frustration at not having an applicator of any stripe to use on my FIRST distress ink...my next older sister is your age and she used to burn the edges of decopodge and taught me how.....I was thinking about that and wondering if that was just an excuse to play with matches!
