I've been avoiding this pattern for so long because I though I would have to do it row-by-row, but segment knotting is so much easier, regardless of the bumpy sides. Thank you for making this so easy :)
@Craftanatic3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately bumpy edges are unavoidable in some patterns, but I don’t really like using the straight edges technique on normal patterns so I just tell myself to deal with it. 😅 Thank you for watching!
@mrs.stefonmeyers71563 жыл бұрын
@@Craftanatic I really don't mind the bumpy edges. And the straight edges technique seems confusing for normal patterns, I wouldn't be able to keep track of what goes where, I only use it in alphas 😂

When you segment knot a plaid pattern you need to have a very strong holding strings and have them straight then it is faster and straight and I do it by segments so at first the sides and then I do the middle and the string you make your knot onto has to be tension every time. When you think there is a bigger distance between two strings than the others pull the string through the 4 twice and then do the second part of the knot then you can make it more even and have the distance the same
@Craftanatic5 жыл бұрын
conni I had tried to segment knot a different pattern (that I showed in the video) and it turned out really bumpy, but I agree that tension is generally SUPER important in all friendship bracelet patterns and that could’ve been my problem there.
@13Calisson5 жыл бұрын
Adding an extra thread on each side of the pattern (No matter the color because we will not see it at all), and making a backward/forward knot on the left side withe the #2 thread and a backward/forward knot on the right side with the before last thread will make your bracelet right straight 😉
@conni51795 жыл бұрын
@@Craftanatic but not only the tension of the knotting but the holding strind is important that it is not bumpy additional to the strings on the side
@Craftanatic5 жыл бұрын
Vedova Florence I tried to do the straight edges technique on a different pattern and wasn’t totally happy with it haha, so there are just things that even more advanced makers need to work on. :P I didn’t talk much about it because Masha Knots has a video all about it.

Craftanatic , I know but I have trouble reading patterns so I like visual instructions or written instructions. I make most of my bracelets via tutorials. 😕 Would I just do alternating backward forward knots for every row the entire bracelet? (Like the plaid section of this bracelet) Or is there another way of describing it? Thanks so much!! ☺️
@Craftanatic5 жыл бұрын
Lizzy Bizzy I can understand that! In the plaid pattern you’re talking about, you can do the candy stripe method and follow the pattern online sort of diagonally if that makes sense? OR you can put all of your strings in pairs of two then do forward knots with those, then you take out the outermost left and right strands and make new pairs then do backward knots with them. And you just repeat that until you build up the pattern!
@lizzybizzy30175 жыл бұрын

Why did my bracelet became a wavy shape ? 😢 Colored parts looks bigger than black ones i think i did someting wrong but idk what 😢
@Craftanatic4 жыл бұрын
You did nothing wrong per se, it’s just the nature of the bracelet because of the knotting structure. If you look closely enough, the bracelets I showed aren’t straight either. Most of the time it’s all in the tension, which takes a while to figure out since all patterns behave so differently.
