I wonder if you get performance differences on Ryzen processors due to the infinity fabric, compared to 2400mhz at same CL?
@C4CH3S5 жыл бұрын
It's basically imposible to get over 3600mhz on ryzen. Infinity fabric kinda tops out at 3200. Ryzen 3000 will probably be able to hit 4000mhz though.

@@C4CH3S I have a 3200mhz kit, running on 3400 stable, over that not so much Ryzen 2700x Is there any hard cutout we know off on ryzen ?
@C4CH3S5 жыл бұрын
@@Nordern if you check some benchs you will se that after 3200 the scaling falls off a cliff. speed gets better over 3200, but way slower than for example 2666 to 3000. The difference between 3200 and 3600 is minimal compared to that difference As far as how fast can you run current bdie on ryzen, I would say 3600cl16 on a decent kit with active cooling. The memory controller is just plain bad, so I would say 3600 is a cutout for stable ram speeds.
@C4CH3S5 жыл бұрын
@RavenPrecept infinity fabric only scales son much. An this memory kit would not go over 3600mhz stable on ryzen because of how the memory controller is made.
@C4CH3S5 жыл бұрын
@RavenPrecept it probably does the same as any other high end bdie. This kit is not a crazy new memory technology, this kit is just good old very binned bdie. Maybe 3600 cl14 daily for this kit (if you are lucky) and maybe over 3800 if you are benching. (with active cooling)

In 2014 people told me I am crazy for the fact that I claimed higher frequency RAM improves FPS. I was guided by my own tests, when I overclocked 1333mhz to 1866mhz and got around 15-20 FPS boost in 1080p Battlefield Hardline. 5 years later everyone is casually talking about it like it's a fact. Though I was laughed at on the forums, or at the very least looked at with skepticism, for saying it boosts FPS. Surprise-surprise
@PrintAimGame5 жыл бұрын
Tests 5 years ago showed a minimal effect on DDR3. It's only been since the advent of DDR4 that it's really made a difference. I'm not sure what changed in that timeframe tbh, but it wasn't some conspiracy against you. Hardware changed.

Back then it was basically the same thing with I5 vs i7. People were basically calling you out stupid for getting an i7. Plus, today those i7s especially with fast memory are still rocking hard, while old i5s are starting to show their age.
@Pillokun5 жыл бұрын
Back then we did not had that powerful gpus as we have now, even when you oc the cpu the videocard is bottle necked by the cpu especially at 1080p and even in some cases in some games at 1440p. Upping the the frequency of the ram will give the system higher bandwidth and latencies will get a bit lower as well. For example when you are in a game and you look up in the sky then the fps number will get super high as the scene is not that gpu intensive but when you look down you once again are first and foremost gpu bound and having faster ram will not help as much in that case, but overall avg fps will be higher then before. Back in 2014 we had like 980 or 980ti as the fastest gpu out there, and pretty much every game was gpu "bottlenecked" but now with pascal and turin high end gpus fast ram is very important part.
@jaybee05075 жыл бұрын
Pillokun, i beg to disagree a little bit. We have a had plenty cpu bottlenecked games then and far before that. Even though gpu might have been the bottleneck more times than cpu, there have always been medium or low settings in games to ease that gpu load for high frame rate/refresh rate gaming. And i am talking way before nvidia 9-series. Gtx980ti was a hell of a card to push cpus to their knees. It’s just that 120+ hz monitors were kinda more rare for example in the era of nvidia 6 and 7 series, but people have still played high frame rate games like counter strike even far before those. Actually the first game that made appreciate high frame rate was Doom (1993). Those pentium processors blew your mind paired with your favorite crt monitor.

Lol, this has been the case continually ever since the '90's, demonstrated in repeated tests that have been replicated independently countless times. But people are dumb and always assume that if they themselves can't make something work it means that it can't be done. Unfortunately stupid people are simply too stupid to realize that there actually are people who are smarter and more competent than they are and thus can do stuff they can't.

Would have been more work, though, and maybe not much to show for it, given the results that you did get.

My FX is still way faster than my Titan Xp... There is no point testing high res for CPU sided things, nothing is fast enough for it, LOL! I'm shocked he didn't test 720p instead to be honest. My laptop with GTX 1070 (mobile, so slightly more CUDA cores than desktop, I have it overclocked to 2 Ghz) and 8750H is "enough" for 1080p (120 Hz panel), but honestly, it could use a better GPU for even 1080p... My main system is over 2x the fps of my Titan Xp, but unfortunately my FX board can't hold 4x GPU to test to see if it can handle it. PS: at 4k resolution, FX-8350 at stock speeds is probably fast enough for duel Titan Xp, though probably just short of duel Titan RTX, however, FX overclocked by 20% is super easy on an AIO (I have mine at 5.5 Ghz on phase cooling just for LOLs, interestingly, power consumption is about half of expected with the 80c lower core temps... So that's cool from a scientific test showing efficiency vs thermals. Max temp is below 0c on the core vs near thermal limits, almost makes up for the huge compressor, so that's crazy). So my setup probably could handle duel Titan RTX, and even a 120mm AIO is probably borderline close to enough for almost no performance loss even with the best duel cards Nvidia has to offer (even if it is $6,000 in graphics, you really don't need more than FX...)

read somewhere that above 2400mhz it doesn't even matter for gaming , it doesn't do anything more when going higher then that , meaning getting higher LOW fps range so i tested it myself , got 2400 mhz and overclocked it to 3000 , my lowest fps went up by 10-20 fps , which is a nice boost , when you think you can OC your cpu and gpu aswel and get about the same from both it's all free extra performance that you ''didn't'' need to pay for , which you obviously DID though ... all in the price , don't worry about that .... the day people get stuff for free is the day hell freezes over , and i don't believe in hell , so that's gonna be along time so yeah , just keep on replacing the speeds , cause it DOES help with LOW fps the weird thing is , that the games feel different , it feels like the ram work load is more spread out to give you a better experience ... maybe it's the timings i set or something , just feels different , i can always tell the smallest changes , even 1 cookie that gets detected as mallware , i can feel it in a game ! or if i didn't clean out the ram before playing any game

Hitman results can be interpreted quite reasonably. Firstly the title is clearly memory bandwidth limited by DMA transfers to GPU and CPU algorithms . Secondly the title probably does lot of AI and physics etc... calculations independent of graphics. Lets say that AI and physics would use about 2Ghz worth of memory bandwidth when there is enough available. At that point the amount available for graphics would be 1.2Ghz and 2Ghz. I have had 4FPS on another game on my first gen i7 simply because the non graphics portion of the game took all the CPU power I had, and there wasn't anything left for the graphics.

I have built a couple of intel mini itx sys for CS:GO players with ram raging from 4400-4600 and even one 4800 kit and they all did their rated xmp profiles. Will it work good with a Ryzen 5 2600

Any good overclocker would know that CAS latency and clock rate are interlinked. Their result is memory access latency which is a better linear measure of DDR performance. 4400MHz at CAS19 = 8.6ns. 4000MHz at CAS20 = 10ns. 3200MHz at CL14 = 8.75ns. So yeah, get 3200Mhz. Don't get suckered.

YOU should use this on a AMD RYZEN CPU ! i would love to see the difference ( on a Ryzen system ) between 3000Mhz and 4400Mhz !

i have 2 gskill 4400mhz kits running 4000mhz cl16 in quad channel on my x299 system. high frequency memory is always recommended for 240fps +, in new esports titles. usually at 1080p or below. Like me for apex i run at 720p which is a killer to run 240hz with no pre-rendered frames but the memory speed really helps. in the pro overwatch scene most of the players are now getting there rigs kitted with 4000mhz+ they also run there games all low 1080p.. this is the only place i see 4000mhz+ memory useful atm. also for benching ofc

How do you see enemies at distance? Guessing you play close range only?
@r3pents75 жыл бұрын
@@tubularmonkeymaniac this can be a semi issue. usually you can see a pixel blob. some of players use 768p 16:10. but tbh when guns like Wingman and Peacekeapers exist you just tp/zip in and go for closer range. always use the ping system. always spam skull town... best fights. amazing in 240hz goodness

When you upgrade from a 1070ti to a 1080, you're really just doing a side grade.

I run a b die Team Group 4000mhz kit @ 4133 cl 15 ultra tight subs on a z390 Dark/9900kf with a 5ghz IMC for 1440p 144hz gamming.....The thing is with ram kits like this is that anything over 4ghz is an utter crap shoot, your IMC might not be able to do it....you motherboard might not be able to handle it.....im guessing that is why he isn't running XMP on that ram and instead running 4ghz. Most ram like that is only certified to run on like 1-3 motherboards and a "binned" cpu aka a good to great IMC . Most times save your money and buy a 3600-4000 kit with good timings and overclock it.

Hah. This is really cool. Im actually running the viper patriot rgb kit 2x8gb 3200mhz cas 16 with a ryzen 7 1800x and 1080ti. Still on a asrock bm350 pro4 mb because waiting paitently for ryzen 3xxx and x570 boards. But i said fuggit who cares if we dont have lloc or nice vrms lets overclock a 8c/16t cpu on a 80 dollar mb anyways lmfao. . Got 3.9 stable at 1.30v before vdroop on the stock amd wraith spire cooler left over from my original 1500x. The 1080ti is a evga sc2 that refuses to hold 2000+ mhz core clock and settles in at 1974mhz instead with the typical 1080ti plus 500mhz mem clock oc. I did for shits n giggles try faster than 3200 on the ram and my viper rgb kit did let me just touch frequency and nothing else. 3333mhz no problem. 3466mhz seemed okay but after 3 hours in AC oddesy i crashed so i put it back to the xmp 3200mhz profile. I need to do more reading up on ram Oc'ing before i feel confident leaving it oc'd.
