As a beginner, this tool set is very capable. I used all the tools to cut trees, build fence, plenter, shed, etc. I'm really happy with the set. Since I'm an office guy, my body can only keep up with the short battery life, so I'm really happy with the price and how much it can do.

Yea there great so long as you barely use them then when there out of date and you try to sell them then your stuck with them. At least name brands arent throw aways and can be resold for a dexent amount.

Excellent job guys. I bought this last night for just under $200. This is pretty much everything I need and I get that it’s low end but for me as a senior this set will get me through most jobs. Again buy for 90% of what you need and rent the rest.

I started with this kit and all I own is craftsman power tools, i use them for working on my truck, boat, and tearing apart scrap metal, I also work in power tool repair, though they are not the best brand, they are the best bang for your buck in my opinion, they are a slightly cheaper and less effective red DeWalt but I have had no issues with them and I would recommend them to anyone trying to get tools on a budget. Their big impacts, angle grinders, and just their whole v20 RP line of tools are great for what they are, if it breaks after so much use, it wont break the bank to replace them and the way I look at it, if you buy a $150- $250 dewalt or Milwaukee and they break, repairs can run from $70 on the low end all the way up to 130 on the high end, they can still be more expensive but at that point get a new one, but if I were to repair a a higher name brand for that much, I would rather just have my craftsman, buy a new one with a 3 year warranty, and just use it till it dies because a new craftsman is the average repair cost of a Milwaukee or DeWalt. But at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference and I'm happy with the craftsman tools.

I bought this set and the only complaint I have is with the on/off switch on the isolating tool. My quick fix was to put a "blob" of liquid nail on the switch, let it dry and sand it round. Works like a charm. Over all I like this set as a handyman.

I own most of the 20V line now. Starting with the 8 piece tool kit about three years ago and use them hard. I use them pretty hard and yes some of the tools are better then others. Example chain saw and leaf blower leave a little bit to be desired and I have been slowly replacing with brushless models. There is a pretty noticeable difference there but all in all they’ve held up well to some good use. Honest review. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. Oh and the nailers are excellent. lol had to say it.

Thank you! For the very detailed review on the Craftsman 20 volt cordless drill set. I'm stuck between getting the Ryobi 18 volt brushless drill or this Craftsman 20 volt drill for my job. I wouldn't be using it every day. Any suggestions would be great as to which set I should get.

Just picked up my 6 piece set today and I love them I would recommend buying a 3rd battery and at lowes they will give another free bare tool with purchase of battery

Had a $15 tool box for 5 years now. And other than the screw holder lids coming off, I'd say it's pretty good (especially for $15)

I've been using this tool kit for about a year. For most that time they were great but reciently the reciprocating saw, oscilator, and screw gun all stopped working right ir completly. I been told the brushes went out so get the brushless ones if you do buy them

Are they made in the U.S.? I can get this kit for $200 right now at Lowe's and I've got a $75 gift certificate as well. I only need to use tools occasionally (a few times a year) so this probably would last me a long time. I was only looking to buy a drill because I unintentionally burned up the motor in the Craftsman drill my dad bought me 30 years ago drilling with a hole saw! Rats! But I saw this kit and figured the rest of those tools could be handy too.

I may pick this set up for the extra battery too. I bought an adapter that lets me use my 20 some year old 19.2 Craftsman tools with these newer 20 volt batteries.

Is this Craftsman tool combo rebadged Ryobi tools?

No, closer to rebadged or older DeWalts

I picked it up for $199 at Lowes the other day with the caveat being that the circular saw is 5 3/8in on mine. The backstory is that Stanley is the company that builds the Craftsman models sold in Lowes. Stanley's high end tools are Dewalt and the prosumer brand being Porter Cable. Black and Decker is the consumer brand. Not sure where Craftsman is going to fit into that model in the grander scheme of things but the possibility of having a decent build quality is there but not guaranteed.

Never buy combo sets they give you crap tools
@jeremysuit69576 ай бұрын
So far I've only bought combo kits. Ridgid, dewalt an this set but I have the 7 piece that comes with the angle grinder an I've never had any problems. I've also got kobalt power tools as well.
