After many hours of carburetor disassembly and cleaning, fuel line replacement, fuel filter cleaning, spark plug reconditioning, idle adjustment with high low screws, this leaf blower is now working like a champ.

I just had new fuel lines and carb cleaned. Now it is smokey when it runs. I just mixed new fuel correctly. Any thoughts?

2 stroke trimmers do smoke...I'm thinking too much 2 stroke oil mix. My rule of thumb is the mixture looks like the blue sky...just a blue hue. If its darker than light blue..its too much oil. Just my 2 cents.

I have a Ryobi Blower Vac 310 BVR - how difficult would it be to remove and clean the carb and throttle linkage? and is it worth it?
@MowersNBlowers5 жыл бұрын
It's not too bad...similar to weed trimmers and chainsaws...record what you're doing with a camera so you can go back and see what and where things go. Need a can of carb parts cleaner. Take your time. You'll do fine. Give it a try. Hope you subscribed

@@MowersNBlowers Thank you - that is a great tip for any amateur that is working on equipment you are not familiar with.

You had it in half choke when you gave it full throttle. You would have probably bogged down if you tried it with the choke in the off position.

+Joni English you know it could be the spark arrester in the muffler, how about fuel lines? PRIMER BULB sucking gas? Gas lines plugged in the proper input output? Could be a lot of stuff on whynit doesn't start.
@jonienglish32316 жыл бұрын
hi yes i check the muffler mesh clean , i could see fuel going up to buln and lines ok , even took the carb out and apart. seemed ok even tried spraying brake kleens in engine and will not start . driving me NUTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! took the Carb spacer checked the seal ok now just took cylinder head sure the ring is SIEZED to piston !!!!!!!! now Soaking in CLR to see of it free up
@MowersNBlowers6 жыл бұрын
+Joni English the carb has diaphram area and primer bulb area that could have crap in it...you need to take apart the carb completely, jets could be clogged...also, carb cleaner is what you shouldnuse...not brake cleaner!

Same blower which is the high and which is the low?

Usually left is hi, right is low! It should say H or L

I took a hack saw, cut a groove into the housing down and into the 2 adj. screws deep enough to use a flathead screw driver

I have a year old craftsmen blower it stalls when I aim it down makes no sense
@MowersNBlowers Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a short fuel line or disconnected fuel filter.
@seatime674 Жыл бұрын
@@MowersNBlowersI don't see any gas leaks anywhere it seems like a float valve or something that could only effect it if I'm aiming it down. I've only used it 5 times, crazy
@MowersNBlowers Жыл бұрын
@@seatime674 the fuel filter is attached to the fuel line in the gas tank that floats around. If that falls off, the fuel line doesn’t get gas
@seatime674 Жыл бұрын
@@MowersNBlowers oh I see so I need to take the gas cap off and look in the fuel tank to see if something floating around?

this isn't much help... adjusting the 'idle' and 'mix' screws is different from modern carbs, even Walbro. What a viewer needs is how to set the screws AFTER the lever controlling the air intake is set from 'off' to '1/2' to 'full' . With no instructions for a nold blower, it is not intuitive to inexperienced guys... There is NO H or L screw

Doug H. in VA I’d also like to know: A. Which is the hi speed screw and which is the low speed screw and B. What are the original factory or default settings. My blower idles just fine so I really don’t want to mess with the low speed adjustment. Where it has problems is at higher speeds where I need to be constantly be playing with the choke to keep the rev’s up. I imagine I can count the turns to fully closed and then back it out to the starting point and try adjusting from there....so I can always get back to the beginning setting, where it ran but just not well. I’m still trying to do mental gyrations thinking about whether I need to enrich the mixture (back hi speed needle valve out) or lean the mixture out to get it to run properly without using the choke. My instinct is to enrich the high speed mixture to emulate the mixture with the choke half or almost fully on.
