Just saw the complete set of 3 on ebay, new old stock for almost $500!!! No way Felipe. Glad I bought the 3/8 10 years ago, had no idea they'd become so desirable

Same bought mine 10 years ago and i usually don't spend that much on tools let alone $60 on a ratchet i didn't need. So i was debating and pulled the trigger after 20 minutes in the tool idle at Sears. Never used it ounce but its soo nice and now its worth a small fortune

@@Rolly_951 It's a nice ratchet. No flex head or any bs. If you just need a lot of precise feel at 90 degrees that's where it shines. I use it with an extension on spark plugs

I bought a set of 3 ratchets 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 a while ago at a flea market for $60 dollars, but I wanted to know how much they would be willing to pay for them on eBay and I sold them at auction for $385 dollars.

Id still use super-lube on any of the ratchets, fine tooth or not. Corse tooth ratchets id apply more super-lube, less on finer teeth ratchets. The loud ratcheting noise drives me insane, super lube definitely makes the ratchets much more quiet. This is coming from someone who has over 30 ratchets in his collection which ive personally all taken apart and cleaned/restored.

There are various options for near duplicates of this ratchet. Crescent CRW6N, Powerbuilt, and Mac have the same ratchet handle shape and thin profile at 1/10 the price. You're welcome.

The early ratchets have a design flaw, that's why they bind up. There is a fix for them in the newer rebuild kits.

Could you share with us what you use as a cleaning agent? Thank you for the great video!
@DIYNexus2 жыл бұрын
Sure! I cheat a little and have a solvent parts washer for really messy stuff. For intermediate stuff, I like to use brake parts cleaner in a spray can with a brush and paper towels. For final or detail cleaning, an ultrasonic cleaner with SuperClean as the solvent. Thanks for watching!

I hear these ratchets are better quality than the 75t Craftsman ratchets. Have you put them through their paces? I have several ratchets ranging from SnapOn to Harbor Freight. I feel like one cannot have too many ratchets and I was thinking of buying these 84t ratchets. Thoughts?
@DIYNexus7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would agree that the one in the video above is of better quality. Check out this video on the new 75T models: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXy7hKB5qbOSr8U They are pretty good for basic use, but the "Premium" 84T ones are far nicer in almost every way other than price. :-) I really do like the Harbor freight stuff for the money though. (Especially if you clean and lube them up)

Agreed, The HF stuff is damn decent for the price..... I would still like to get this 84t CMan set. Thanks for the info

I have used mine exclusively for almost ten years and have had no issues.

@@ViperMods_216 Yep. I have the full set. Bought MATCO rebuild kits and had the machine shop at the company I work at machine down the divot in the anvils and now mine are all 88T. I have been nudging Stanley Black and Decker to get a production run of those going at AJ Manufacturing so there are some kits around but I doubt it'll happen. :-(

I have lost one of my screws that keeps the cover on. Do you have any idea what size it is? Thanks
@nathans30225 жыл бұрын
I actually am not sure. I have 2 rebuild kits which include the 2 screws each. Wonder if the 1/4 drive ratchet uses the same size screw.. :-\

@@reallyhappenings5597 Crescent crw0n, crw6n, and crw12n made at the same APEX factories, with this excellent design + quick release, $20, and available now. These new APEX models are impressive.

Looks great compared to moist craftsman...but it sounds like car wreck.....even after the lube jobs
