On April 28, 2014 Craig announces his retirement from the late late show. Saying his last show will be in December 2014 and nobody but him chose to do this. Craig, you will be extremely missed!

I became a die-hard fan of the show in 2008 and I definitely have a ton of nostalgia for those years of following every week. But I just have to say that even though I feel you cause I hate missing shit, it really makes me so happy that people are still discovering it and loving it over 5 years after it ended. I always felt weird saying that a talk show was my all-time favorite TV show so the fact that it just keeps living on and getting more and more popular on KZbin is amazing to me. Craig's the best.

You've noticed by 2015 all the network late shows started doing similar skits and monologues on the same political topics drawing the same conclusions on the same nights in the same order from March 2015 onward. It almost seems the current shows are just political editorial mouthpieces to hypnotize an audience like the news rooms have become. Maybe he just wasn't going to renew his contract under those circumstances. If so, I have only one thing to say. FREEDOM!

Ferguson could have EASILY kept my attention for another decade or two. I cant find anyone legitimately funny when I scroll thru the late night channels anymore. Everyone has turned into a political hack. Ferguson may have made political jokes, but just like Carson and Don Rickles, he was never mean spirited. Nobody could do late shows like Carson. Ferguson came close. And now there is nothing. I find most nights I dont even watch current late shows on tv. I watch the best of Carson and Ferguson via youTube. Thank God they can still be found there.

He was Real! That's why he stood out and still gets loads of views years later on youtube today. Other hosts are just so fake it's obvious that the whole point of the show is for it to be an advert for celebrities that they get to put adverts on. (they being the company behind the show)
@A-small-amount-of-peas6 жыл бұрын
SuperRand13 Completely agree. I used to like Conan but whenever I see him tee up a comedian to do scripted material I just wince, and he's the most experienced late night host. Fallon has to rely on parlour games and interrupting his guests, James Corden has singing in a car....... That's it. Seth Myers is likeable but needs more experience, Kinmel's not bad as is Colbert but they aren't in Craig's league in terms of just going off the cuff. Shame really as the effect it's having on the viewing population is gradually dumbing them down which is a damn shame but that's what advertisers, TV networks and the government really want. I think Craig was more mature, and both of their senses of humor appeal to different groups of people. It's hard to imagine Corden giving a speech in the likings of Craig's sobriety monologue, etc. I do agree that the contrast is palpable, but since I didn't really watch Craig nor do I watch Corden (I don't live in the states and so I don't have those shows here), it doesn't really affect me.

The viewer base was small because it was always broadcasted so late, they were fanatical because it was by far the most interesting talk show, so many odd things happened, a razor sharp wit from both Craig and Josh (Geoff) and also extremely rich with long running in-jokes. That's how it is though, the watered down products go mainstream, Craig understood that and was happy with his late late slot, an interview with him shows he wasn't interested in an earlier slot because it would have constricted his style of humour

What is most impressive is his breath of knowledge and ability to BS at the same time. You have to love this man for building himself a good life despite all the hardship, roadblocks and self induced stupors he dealt with along the way and being in reasonable control of what he does and when he does it. Give him credit for knowing himself and being honest with the fans that he did not want to shortchange himself or the fans when his heart was no longer in his work and he needed to move on. Such a joy to listen to him discuss what we all think but often are unable to say for whatever reason and make all of us, his guests and himself laugh. I have a "serious job" and always enjoyed putting my feet up at the end of the day and checking in for his show so that I could check out of the my everyday reality. I usually went to sleep with a chuckle and a smile on my office. In your pants Craig!

I do have to admit that I am a bit of a Craig Ferguson fan belated. Never realize how great his show was until just a few days ago going through all of the clips of Craig. I can’t believe that I did not catch a show when it was on TV I missed out on such a great show. Unfortunately yes he’s gone but he raise the bar as far as late-night talkshow host go. No one will ever top Craig Ferguson, no if Ann’s or butts about it. Very sad that he’s gone but thanks to folks posting videos we could always catch him and have a great laugh. Josh Robert Thompson is awesome too we cannot forget about Jeff Peterson, oh no no no. Anyway thanks so much for posting the videos greatly appreciated. Everyone take care, take it easy and be safe PS I dislike this video because it made me sad

What made Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show so good was he was genuinely honest, very funny (the monologue seemed to go on for 20 minutes some nights) and it wasn’t jokes, it was pure stand-up. Then the anything goes factor, from the dancing horse, puppets and gay robot sidekick, the over the top impersonations were so hilariously silly and bizarre, but his interviews were the best on late night. I miss this show.

Was lucky enough to make it to the audience for a show in 2008 (From Ireland) which was an experience not many international tourists do. Was a good laugh to be fair

Still the best show in decades. Craig and his ability to make beautiful woman blush and laugh, was the highlight of my day, when I was having a rough one. Thank you sir. It meant a lot to have you on network television.

The sad truth is…. If Craig came back in today's entertainment and political climate, they'd censor him before he finished his first sentence!! That would not be the Craig we know and love. I'm glad we have all these videos to enjoy the memories and give us some real happiness and laughter. Craig has been my antidote during the Covid 19 pandemic . Kudos and love to all those who post these videos. Thank you.

While I'm still binge watching his shows now and I'll definitely keep watching em in the future coz Craig took late night show to a whole new level. He really made it his own. He's way better than Letterman for me. He is dirty, quick and just awesome.

Ferguson changed late night television for the better & forever. Being so gracious to CBS, in addition to the show itself, proves that he's a legend. CBS underpaid him, under supported him (had hamster's promotion budget), took advantage and did not treat him like the gem that he was, however rough around the edges. A rough cut gem lacks over polished phoniness and shines the brighter in authenticity. Lightening in a bottle, man. Lightening in a bottle.

Craig is second to none as a talk show host and honestly there’s not actually one late night show host I enjoy watching in 2020 and if you did you would be sitting up till 2am in the morning here in Australia. So there you have as Craig would say and here we all are watching Craig Ferguson on KZbin.

I'm sad to see him go. If I need some laffs after a crappy day, or just want to get stupid silly, I love watching Craig ... "Geoff Peterson" ... and that goofy Secretariat WHO'S THAT AT THE DOOOOOR???!!! Alas ... no more meetings of the minds Craig Ferguson/Kristen Bell ... no more Awkward Pauses ... [sigh] ... just a lot of crap TV with no originality. I LOVE Craig's show because it's so strange and hilarious, like him. I hope the KZbin videos stay up for years and years. Thank goodness he's on a few more months anyways. LOVE YOU CRAIG FERGUSON GEOFF PETERSON ;-) SECRETARIAT RABBIT AND ALL THE REST

whatever the reason, he's the next best thing after Letterman. he actually engages his female guests. he's always funny. He's not afraid to say something like Letterman has been in the past 10-15 years. He's an awesome host

Having worked for a network affiliate, and having noticed the gradual degradation of content in general as it relates to entertainment value, I believe that Mr. Ferguson interpreted the proverbial "handwriting on the wall". I watched this programme at every opportunity. Not one person at that time or since could hold a candle to his antics, and the milquetoast drivel offered up now stands as testament.
