neat toe hold entry. I always go for the toe hold when the opponent lays back with their feet up like in de la hiva. At this point I feel like what we are doing is so mixed with other disciplines I don't even call it jiujitsu anymore.

They probably have some low % slick setup either Eddie or Martinez likes to do and he wanted Martinez to try it. There wasn't really any Darce to be had from the positions Martinez was in though.

You can hit a modified darce/ head arm and throw your legs around them like a guillotine, if you don’t get it tight enough off the bat, use the position to reset and sweep straight into traditional darce setup.

weird to see the old generation vs new generation butting heads directly. i can't see the classic 10p guys going on for much longer honestly and i'm not saying this as a hater, the martinez bros and pj barch did great in this tournament but when they came up against B Team it was obvious who was the better, and by far.

I normally like heel hooks in high level comps but I feel like this ruleset allowed for funky submissions like this to happen. When you're not worried about exposing your heel you can try some pretty weird shit.

Great move, but not a great player. I don't believe it's necessary to go that fast on a leg submission. This is why Gordon is the goat, his skill is top tier, yet he treats his opponents with respect. When he has a sub, he gives his opponents time to tap, even in competition. Dick move from Craig imo.

Depends what you're better at... if you are good at wrestling, it's probably easier for you to play from top.... if you are not as good at wrestling you probably will have better luck playing guard. .. IMHO wrestling / passing takes exponentially more energy than playing guard.
