Stupid decisions like that, to appeal to the masses, just ruins art, and makes people dumber. The same thing with The Matrix, when they changed it to people being used as batteries, when the original script, was their brains being used for their processing power, like computers. That made a lot more sense, and would have made the movie even better, but some asshole forced that change, and now it's permanent.

Craig, thank you for finally setting this straight, been saying it for years...why? Because my best friend and I (rest his soul) met John at a car show down here in San Diego. I recall it having a PlayStation in it since my friend got to talking with John for like over 40 minutes and allowed for him to cross over the rope and fully check it out. He mentioned about being approached for an up and coming film and was planning on ‘meeting’ with folks in the near future about it. Fast forward about a year or so and our group- SoCal DSM was told about extras being needed for a street racing film called “Redline”. I couldn’t make the trip that day for racewars, but my friend did. Several members of our group did go and their cars made a few appearances in the film. Unfortunately the tape that I had filmed that day at the car show was non playable after 20 plus years, was one of the few recording I had of my Bro, but the memories and the movies help🤙🤘 Oh- and yes I did see the blown up eclipse in Vegas.

I had seen this car when I was growing up and several years later, when I turned 16, I found a 95 Eclipse GS. I was so excited to own the same car as Brian! Of course I believed a lot of what I saw in the movie and mistook the Eclipse in the movie as the awd GSX model. I was bummed because by the early to mid 2000s it was very hard to find a good condition 2nd Gen. Eclipse and damn near impossible to find a good condition GSX version. Most were riced out or at least not to the specs/ style I wanted. I loved the car because it came across as attainable, reliable (kinda), and had a slew of parts available for it. The Eclipse is still one of my all time favorite tuner cars.

I personally owned for 4 years a near mint 99 eclipse gs. It looked bone stock minus the typical exhaust and a dark matte grey paint job when i sold it. I had built the block with forged rods and pistons held together with arp head studs and a felpro permatorque head gasket. Bolted on a cheap "god speed/rev9" turbo and manifold. Had a buddy weld me up a down pipe that was fabbed from a cheap 4-1 header(used the downpipe part to clear oil pan and run to my resonated test pipe). Ran mustang GT injectors(believe from a 96) and a 10:1 FMU. Used a cheap AEM wideband and cheap boost gauge to keep an eye on the "important" stuff. Wheels were stock 17inch gsx rims. Inside was all nearly flawless leather black on black. In the hatch was the typical sub and amps built into the floor. Was a fun project that i really liked however my wife hated the car from day 1 and the time i spent working on it made her hate it more. I ended up selling it and buying a mk6 GTi. Wish i never did.

@@bernardomotard that's incorrect sequential turbo means one turbo comes online before the other and then transitionds to the second turbo and both come online together hence sequential and gives you low end power and high end power. This is how my mkiv supra turbo system works the turbos are the same size and has a bunch of gates vacuum lines and solenoids so control all the gates to pre spool turbo two after turbo one is fully online

George Barris who bought the interior car is the same guy who acquired James Dean’s Porsche 550 spyder after the crash in which Dean died. It was with Barris the story of the cursed “little bastard” began.

Ive been to the Las Vegas one, very surreal,i love how the wheels were still in tact,i wanted to buy them,i actually have a video of that museum on my channel if anyone wants to check it out, i also fell guilty into owning one of those 50+ replicas lol, before i was finished with mine i also got interviewed by Mighty Car Mods when they went to Vegas in 2013,the video can be found both in my channel and also in MCMtv2,later that year when i was finally done with the replica i heard the sad news of Paul Walkers passing,on the next day i tied a black lace on the rear antenna and drove all around Vegas where i was getting thumbs up and compliments on the car and where ever i parked i got people wanting to take pictures of it, later in 2013 towards the end i was asked to represent Paul Walker in a Memorial Cruise wich can also be found in my channel, the last 2 events i showed up with my replica were at a Car Meet in Vegas and also attended Import Face Off in Las Vegas Nevada,These Movies have really been a big part of my life growing up,specially in my love for cars,I love anything Fast and The Furious, and i hope everyone enjoys my videos as well. If anyone manages to read all this,Thank You for Reading.

Really enjoyed hearing you tried to set them straight. When my GSX caught on fire, I kept all the speed parts. Finding another GSX with the rear diff option & all-forged motor? Unlikely... but finding those speed parts... and the dinero for them... nope.

Lots and lots of people will HATE me for saying this but I still don’t like that body kit. The facelifted 1997-99 Eclipse body for me is like one of best looking cars in the world. And that paintjob. I don’t know, it’s too all over the place. I liked the paintjob on 3Gen Eclipse from 2 Fast 2 Furious. It is really tasteful in my opinion. You’re not seeing this in our times. Car nowadays have either bone stock looks or are riced out like crazy. No middle ground with styling actually done right.

Meaning the Eight-Six Takumi drove with a Group A engine produced more horsepower than an Eclipse that was easily underpowered?

Yes.......Takumi had 240hp and 11000 rpms to play with. In anime world.

@@hoost3056 I would have to point out the likelihood of that engine existing. Even if it's a fictional engine I would still take a Trueno over an Eclipse that was too easily underpowered.

And damn George Barris.. Every time i see the funked up eclipse, I cringe so bad... OMG 😱 I hope eventually or soon, that you can tell me it's been restored to it's proper look ? Looking forward to seeing you again in Montréal next year at the Paul Walker Memorial ! You the man Craig 😉 ! Eric
