When my ex broke up with me. I flat out asked her "When did you stop loving me?" I knew she had checked out the last month. She was being cold/emotionless/monotone that is when she cracked in her voice and showed a bit of emotion. It wasn't after I went out on a few dates, when the topic of exes would come up. I would say that line as part of the story of the ending. The majority of the women opinion on the dates was "She was cheating on you" or "Yea, B*tch had someone else lined up". Did they love you? They loved what you did for them. People who love ya, don't leave ya. Trust their actions not their words.

Same thing happened in my relationship. I got depressed so bad that I needed sleep medication and searched professional help from a psychologist. I've been following you for almost a year now and in addition to learning attachment types I have akso discovered the Myers-Briggs personality types also directly play a role in relationships! My ex and I couldn't have been a more ridiculous pairing of opposites atttact. He was the narcissistic/ISTJ/Avoidant personality to my empathic/ENFP/borderline personality. I now understand our downfall was my overwhelming, emotional reactions to his overwhelming yet cold, calloused passiveness. I will probably always love him but I am of the understanding he may never return and it is probably for the best. What a bittersweet feeling, how I love him yet our minds are not linked.

You are exactly right when you spoke about the regression after a break up. I myself had a pretty big regression after my divorce (I was 28 when I divorced, married for only 7yrs) and I felt the need to do all the things I wasn't "allowed" to fo while married. I was in a relationship last year where my ex ended up leaving me, and it was like he almost transformed over night. I didn't recognize him anymore. He started partying with his cousins who are 21 (he's 32) and drinking everyday, we tried to remain in each others lives but I realized I didn't like the person who he turned into and have been in no contact since, it's been 2montgs since I started the no contact. It's crazy how our brains forget that this type of behavior is "normal" after a breakup. I've broken up with people before and I completely changed how I treated them so they didn't get the wrong idea. It didn't mean I didn't care anymore (well in one case I didn't, but he was a serial cheater), I just didn't want either of us to keep suffering. My ex loved me and love doesn't just disappear from one day to another. He made it clear that he wasn't going to do anything to give me the wrong idea and he has been true to his word. Doesn't help that I badgered him a bit during the first 2 months. It hurts that he is ignoring me, but I understand why.

PandaEats wow having read that you as the person who broke up and you know wot they going through is it really not who they are? Iv never broken up with someone I only one serious committed relationship and he became my husband and after leaving me I truly feel I don’t recognize him anymore: it’s like I wonder how could he be so cold and uncaring and how is it so easy to just ‘discard me’ to not even bother asking how I am or what I’m up to? He keeps saying he wants the space to avoid giving me wrong idea and leading me on. I get that but the fact that he could even treat me this way so cold so remote so uncaring I mean I’m still being a bit cordial and ask him how he is doing / or how’s work / how’s his family as we share kids and were married for 10yrs but even that is too much and ‘irritates him’. That as he claims he has no feelings or any residual affection for him! But he won’t even look at the bad acts he did either? I thought I’m trying to restore some connection but to think he can be so heartless and uncaring after sharing so much and being so in love with me? I know we must try and understand where they coming from but how much do we as the dumpee put up with their ‘bad behavior’ but they couldn’t even try to even work things out with us? No they just felt they should walk selfishly leaving and moving on wout even telling us they were doing so while still being with us! And then even when we sit and ask them wots the issues we willing to work on it with them they don’t even give us the benefit of doubt or have faith in our love for them that will want to change for them and stop hurting them if our behavior conscious and / or unconscious was hurting them? The truth is half the struggle of us healing is first even accepting someone we loved could do this to us and then forgiving them for doing this because while they also did / had bad behavior we never treated them the same. I think we all struggle wondering wow are they really like this now? So horrible and awful? Even now we try and put their behavior now with us post breakup in context - we want to give them benefit of doubt and say ‘no they only like this coz they dumped us and don’t want to give us hope / wrong idea’. But still they can’t believe in the best of us? Or see us being able to grow / develop or become better versions of ourselves. In the end the hardest part is accepting they don’t want you anymore that you still feel ok with the rejection and abandonment that it’s ok they gone because it’s ‘their loss’ and perhaps they will go try finding a more ‘compatible person’ - it may work out because they too would have learned not to make the same mistakes they made with you with the new person or it blows up also. But that is the hardest part of it all - knowing that if they were the person that truly loved us for us they wouldn’t have walked they would have made an effort; made our relationship a priority and actually seen the power of love and how fulfilling and happy they could have worked at building a new relationship with you. But in the end they can’t - they don’t love you with all your bad stuff and iv realized that no matter wot we do, nothing will ever be good enough for someone who doesn’t want you 😔😢

KiLLoRChiLLoR it’s been some time I’m in a better place but ex will always be in my life! It’s been a year and look how things have changed? Covid him having moved on to a new person and family :(. Being alone was hard during Covid and no opportunity to visit friends and family or worse knowing he was bonding more with his new wife 😔. Anyways I’m trying to just let go and actually stop caring about the the disbelief I have at times and wondering how things got to where they are? Mainly I mourn the person he once was as sometimes I don’t recognize who he is today ....I don’t even sometimes accept the old him could have done what he did and way he did it. And I guess that’s the sad part we hold ok to parts of them we once knew crying for that person but that person is long gone - only this new version of them exists in the present. The funny part is would you want them today knowing who they are today and can you even hold their behavior towards you as result of the breakup (ie being cold, distant, no talking to you or caring for you, no longer in your life) is it fair to hold the against them? Or do we say that isn’t part of who they really are but just natural behaviors that they commit because they have now broken up with you? I can’t answer that right now I guess that’s part of my process of forgiveness towards him and his action to me I am now trying to work on. How are things with you? Has it been long and are you closer in your steps for healing ?

@@gem3530 Its funny, I'm a guy and ask myself the same questions - My Ex broke up 6 weeks ago, out of a 3 year relationship. Im honest, the last year was hard for me and I were in a dark place, so we shared alot of hardship and I could see it comin from far away, but still wasnt prepared because I was like paralyzed and just wanted distant from everything in live. She cried alot and tried to make it work, but I was not myself. She was the one I always could rely on because we both grew alot in the first years, as she came into my live as a little girl and changed to a real women after only a year. I was so proud. Im 28 btw. and she is 23. Now that I “woken up“ I made a 180 spin and changed things dramaticaly. I cutted everything out of my live which distracts me from going forward and I feel in a better space now. Things are getting better and I focus on my goals and dreams again, but the hard part for me is that she isnt seeing anything of it because she cancelled all contact. I got one chance when she came back from work and I was nearby, so I straight up told her how things have changed for me and asked her some questions, one was like if she still loved me when she broke up, she just told me that one part of her will always love me. For a moment I was happy but still broken because how can she move on so quickly then and break my trust in the moment i needed her the most. I always hoped that if she see that I can realy change she will have some hope to work things out again, but I feel that she is going on with someone else she already lined up during my time I was so miserable. Im not 100% sure but everything in myself tells me it. The way she acts tells me that she needs some good times after all and cant stand to always suck it up, I understand that and try to move on from there with No Contact. Maybe I need to delete her number. I wish you the best, we just have to look forward and heal ourself to get into a much better state. And always try to get the best Version of yourself you can be and maybe some time in our live we will attract someone who see ourself exactly like that.

This video was great, wish it had been longer! Would you consider doing one that’s more in depth about why they change. My EX has changed for the BETTER, not worse, since I broke up with him. I’ve been a wreck, all I do is work and sleep, I have no desire to go out or do anything. Your videos have helped me a LOT however, and I’m in the process of watching every single one. They’ve been keeping me company while I’ve been lonesome and depressed. I listen in the car, at the grocery store, and while I fall asleep. My EX has since upgraded household appliances, bought new furniture, bought a new truck! Has planned a trip to Cuba with friends, started going to the gym, and has been going out a lot more! Doing things I had always asked him to do while we were together, but he had been really lazy and never had the desire to. I also see him adding girls on FB and tagging them in funny videos with laughing emojis, and it’s breaking my heart to see him in such a light mood. JMJ87 I went through a one year breakup with my ex husband 8 years ago. During that year, I was a hot mess. All I did was cry, sleep, and watch bad Netflix movies. Meanwhile, he seemed to be having the time of his life. Partying, hanging out with girls, being more active, etc. When we finally made up the first thing I asked him was if he had been genuinely happy during that time. To my surprise he replied no. He told me how he did all those things just so he wouldn't have to think about me or the breakup. The thing is, when he would get home and be alone, he would feel lonely and even like he wanted to cry. So the point of all this is, don't let what you are seeing drive you crazy. Guys grieve in a different way, usually that involves shoving the problem as far down as possible. That doesn't mean it never comes up, because I'm sure it does. I'm not saying he is going to come back, only time will tell.

I broke up with my ex because of all the reasons you mentioned it’s not worth wasting time for an ex. on another video. Although I did the break up, I did love him. I communicated to him my concern of his behaviors. Instead of wanting to make changes in himself, he said something I was not expecting “I didn’t want this anyway.” He said this after I had invested 3 years of my life and thought he loved me. He responded in the same ways you describe on this video. He was cruel, cold hearted, etc. The pain was excruciating, as described. Because of my attachment style, I suffered so much due to the separation. Yes I felt I was going to die and experienced serious side effects. I realized today this was my very first break up. It was hard to say the least. It’s has been more than a year. I’m great now, but when I heard this video, I was re-traumatized, but I can understand why he responded the way he did. I’m on the other side now, and have no regrets. I have not heard from him since last June.

You are delaying the inevitable, the other person maybe busy etc but we all have 24 hours and can make time. Short or long distance. They maybe overwhelmed with work family commitments etc but if they really want to see you then they will jump at any given opportunity. You shouldn't have to force or work so hard at it. My best advice is to speak to this person and ask if your relationship is worth the time and effort you are putting in... Ask them to be honest. Stay strong

Craig I wish you could get into this more in depth about the reasons why the “breaker-upper” move on to another person so easily and the background behind that. My ex literally left for work one morning and the night of drive in to my driveway with his new girl in the car asking to come in to get his things. He had already left me for her a week before and I was stupid enough to take him back but he swore up and down he was done with her and only loved me. He then continued to tell me after he went back to her that last time that he still loved me and only me and she was nothing compared to me. Then why would he choose her. A girl with no education, no career, 5 kids with a guy she wasn’t fully divorced from. I know that I need to move on because I deserve better but I would love to understand the psychology behind this. Especially when he says the reason is that he couldn’t trust me when he never had a reason to not trust me. Michelle Zheng it’s hard at first because of the attachment but as time goes buy you meet new girls, you start feeling better, and at some point you will date a girl and realize dam they’re really are others out there who make me feel warm inside. Michelle Zheng he does miss you that’s certain, when you’re involved in a relationship you form a bond, you become attached and even if he is the one who ended it, he will feel the loss so long as you haven’t blown up his phone daily and stay in no contact ( if he left you for any other reason then cheating or neglect). He will miss you but only he can decide if he wants to return, there is nothing you can say to get him back, all you can do Is grow as a person, work on yourself and either he will contact you or he won’t. We are all blinded when we get rejected, but as time goes buy you will start to feel better and see a clearer picture of how your relationship really was, it’s happening to me, yes I’m still hurting after 3 months, but less and less. Remember he left you don’t reward his bad behavior contacting him, move on with your life, things are going to be alright, trust me. He would be sorry for his actions but wasnt being consistant or patient enough to understand the outcome of his actions. Always anxious, desperate for appreciation and insecure. He even moved in with her 1month after our breakup and was talking to her 2 weeks b4 our breakup. We were 4yrs and engaged, building and planning better things. I know that I deserve better. Oh that sounds really taff.. I can imagine how you must feel now. I also go trough a breakup, she left me before 3 weeks, said 5 Days before that she love me and the relationship is DAMN important for her, and 5 days later she said she loves me but want to end, then she blocked me and i never heard from her again. Your situation sounds even more hurting with the new toy.. But 4 years.. you never know maybe the new toy is getting boring in a few weeks and its just a try to get over you. I had also such a anxious girlfriend who needed lots of attention.. But i also experienced both sides.. when i was 19 and had not much experience in live, I had a relationship and it was not going well, she had a lot of problems and depression.. and someday i met some other girl (a friend from a friend) and she was so positive and happy mood and i fel in love.. i told my girlfriend at this time that i dont feel much anymore and i want to date that "new toy" .. so i can imagine now years later how she must have felt (cant forgive myself for that) .. but i also know that i was damn happy with the new one.. and never looked back to the old.. and half a year later the new one break up with me because of other reasons .. then there was the time i met my ex sometimes as a friend .. and she told me now years later she always had hope that i would come back.. but in my head at this time was nothing like going back t o her.. i just saw her as a friend and enjoyed doing stuff with her.. so if youre like me.. experienced both sides.. im really really not sure how realistic all taht stuff is.. if an ex really will come back someday.. 2 girls broke up with me.. one never came back, just as a friend months later (see her 1-2 times a year) and the other ex who broke up with me regret 1 year later but never wrote me at this time.. years later we are now friends.

MARKS WELT wow.. i never left someone to be with someone else. Im fully commited so i dont know that part of the experience. Karma works iin so many ways. So now your ex regrets it. It has to be that anxiety issue. Well i did break up with the father of my kids after a 12yr relationship because it had gotten toxic, no respect and discovered he was a narcisist. I stayed because i really wanted to put the effort but i was doing it alone. I just wanted to finish my studies and leave. Ended up leaving sooner when i caught him cheating. But that gave me the courage to leave... i was fed up. I stayed single for a year and a half working on myself and once i felt liberated with a high self esteem again i started dating and just enjoying life. Thats when i started dating my now ex. He was so attentive and different so opposite of the other. But then he became jealous, insecure, blaming me for the past etc.. but then he would show his effort and love. We moved to Florida for a new start but things became overwhelming apparently for him...me too but my mind was set and i knew it was gonna take time and effort to get achieve our goals. I would try talking to calm him down but he would turn things around to me. Im not perfect but atleast i deal with my mistakes head on...he would want to run away constantly..he lost my trust. Im so disappointed at him right now. I just moved here in Janurary leaving alot behind for him to then pull this move on me. He will regret it. I will continue to achieve my career, my new car and our dream home without him. He will regret it just like your ex does. Congrats on your album!

He chased me in the beginning. I wasn't in to him after the first date but I gave it another chance and we connected more than any other relationship I've been in before. After 6 months, we bumped heads a few times and he suggested he needed a break. It tore me up because he was the one always referring to the future. It’s hard for me to let go, (even though it’s been over 8 weeks) it just soul crushing because she was my first and first at everything and we were going to get married and all that; we’ve been together for 5 and a half years. Currently 7 months into no contact and it has been almost a year since the break up. I chased and made that mistake for a few months and he lined up a new girl before he left me and I was suspicious of it. I had no idea he was unhappy and even when he showed something was up, I tried to talk it out and he didn't open up. Not even 2 months later, he starts dating this girl and is in a relationship with her not long after that. It hasn't been a year and they've not only moved in together, but they ran away to another city. She's 19 and we're 22-23. She's never lived on her own and neither have lived out of state and they're coworkers. I can't tell if it's a rebound anymore, but I still feel it is. Edwin Galdamez Thank you so much for your reply! I've been listening to the coaches and going to therapy since last August weekly. I had become depressed last year before the break up and was going to see a therapist and changing medicines around and then he broke it off three weeks into therapy. And yes, I think their relationship is also doomed. They've not just rushed into it, but it's built on a very shakey foundation. As for my ex, I have known him for a handful of years. He's battled addiction to Opiates and has had two suicide attempts via overdosing on a combo of drugs and alcohol. He's also from an emotionally abusive household where he grew up very poor and neglected. His dad and his two brothers have alcoholism and his mom never really did much about it. Anyway, I was there for him when he was going through his break up with the girl he dated before me and she just up and left and also used him for things. He were just friends then. A year later, I got him to leave his abusive household and he did, but he relapsed on his sobriety and I actually intervened on his second suicide attempt and helped him towards a path of sobriety. We dated much later after that was established and after all of that, he just threw it all away. After the break up, my depression got worse and I was hospitalized for it twice in a month and he never cared despite knowing. He was already seeing this new girl he's moved in with. Breaks my heart I was willing to be there for him but he wasn't for me. Funny thing is, months after I started no contact, I heard from a coworker of his he frequently brought me up at work and told him about how he said it was all my fault for having this happen, but my coworker friend already knew my half and he hated the way my ex treated me after the break up. He'd then come into my place of work and my bosses would tell me not to come in yet because he was in there or hide in the back. But yeah, not even a year after the break up, and he's already moved in with this girl (child basically), lives in a different state 8 hrs away, they're coworkers, and started dating her almost immediately. The chick knew we were together too when she started hanging with him suddenly.

Edwin Galdamez My ex also has never done anything to get professional help for his addiction and other mental health issues. He suffers from depression and anxiety and has been since he could remember. Moreover, due to the abuse and the drug use and drug dealing when he was still a young teen, I also believe he has PTSD. I am currently studying Psychology and I am in my last semester of undergrad studies and hope to get a Master's or PhD and it's so blatantly obvious he has so much trauma that needs addressed but he refuses to get help. He always told me that I was the only person who ever showed so much care towards him and advocated for him towards a better future that was sober and that he could be able to put himself first. Nope....threw it all away and started sleeping with this chick and ran off. Put the blame on me beforehand. Literally told me that I am the "face of his problems". He had so much potential and I really wish he would do the work dude.... But that's not enough to make it happen and it's not going to come close to his mind to think about what he's done until that girl is out of his life. He asked for space and I believe that I've given him more than enough time and space, but I don't even know if I would want to reach out at all or at least while he's still dating her. He still seems angry so I know he's still got some feelings to begin with but mine are slowly fading all together. At least I can say I'm not sleeping next to anyone during all this time while he has. Shouldn't you be over that shit before going into another relationship..?!
