I lost my childhood best friend to a claw machine. I put the quarter in, and the claw shot out and grabbed him by the right shoulder. It was tugging him into the slot with all its force.... we were just 12... he didn’t have the strength. I’m almost eighteen now. I haven’t seen him since.

@MusyVideos 5 жыл бұрын
@@FieryRedmond (So your reply got me thinking, and then this happened...) The claw machine was running low. Empty space showed between the toys inside. The most popular prizes, merchandise from popular films or cartoons, were long gone, leaving only the piles of under-stuffed plushies, mass-produced detritus of some far-off factory. It was time to restock. Management had seen the boy now standing at the machine’s controls before. He was a regular player, experienced and dexterous, and had won prizes many times. Even now, the boy’s face lit up with glee as the machine claws slid around a teddy bear and dragged it over to the slot. He reached into the enclosed slot for the toy, and the machine struck. Too fast to follow, the claw darted down and clamped vice-like around his wrist, then yanked him forward into the machine with similar speed. He tried to scream, only to be unable to open his mouth as a row of stitches formed from his lips, pulling them up into a forced smile. The inside of his mouth bulged with foam stuffing that slid back down his throat and continued to expand. His entire body crumpled inwards, shrinking and losing all but its most basic form. For the last few seconds as he was drawn up into the glass casing, his legs kicked and twitched before hanging still, now sacks of cheap polyester fabric. The boy (though boy no longer) could not even tell what he had become. His unblinking, unmoving eyes stared out into the arcade where others played on, oblivious to what had just occurred. The claw opened, and his whole world tilted sickeningly as he dropped down onto his back, stuffing shifting and resettling, staring up at the bare plastic ceiling of the machine. It was only a start. But then, the night was young and more players were crowding into the arcade. There would be a fresh round of prizes soon enough.

That "Let's Bounce" game can be cheated to win. If you afk for a whole game and then start a new game, you keep all your balls from the first game plus what it dispenses for the second. It's ultimately not worth the ticket payout because you're still paying for two games and playing one, but it's a fun way to cheese your score. My friend and I tried the max out the score to see if it would reset back to zero, but we ended up just glitching out the machine lmao. Also it sounds like someone doesn't know about payout rates. Most claw machines have a weak claw strength only until and unless it reaches a certain amount of money. Then it becomes winnable (until someone has won, then resets). I tend to play claw machines once when I see one because there's a chance that it's hit its payout and just hasn't been won yet. This beats just standing there and grinding it out. That Key Master game has a payout rate too. You can have the key aligned perfectly and if it hasn't reached payout it'll adjust itself by like a millimeter up or down and force you to lose.

Once walked by a Let's Bounce game where the balls were out and no one was playing it as the round ended. So, we only ended up paying for one game and got extra balls.

Moose in the wild works! If you’re feeling constrained don’t be afraid to branch out and make different content. I’ve been a fan for a while and while I drop in and out of your upload schedule I enjoy pretty much all of your content. If you ever travel, shit, I’d watch a travel video all you have to do is keep your unique style to avoid falling into the “vlog” tag. Good luck moosy

Brilliant video as always!! For more ideas: -Some amusement parks? Like those small town ones? - Local carnivals etc.? - Also mini golf courses are usually fun and have cool designs! - I think it'd be fun to watch you go to thrift stores too and then reviewing/researching/discussing the things you get. I love your reactions to things and seeing you getting excited about nostalgic or cool things would be rad :)

A while back i was at an arcade and played the big bass wheel. My friend was like "dude! Im gonna win this! 1000 tickets!" "Yeah right, its a scam. Here, I'll show you." *pulls the wheel* "See?" "CONGRATULATIONS YOU WON THE JACKPOT" my friend then spent an hour and a half trying to win. It was torture to watch him.

Self-professed arcade expert here- use these tips next time at the arcade to leave with the biggest prizes! Claw machines: #1 rule, ALWAYS go for what you can get, not what you want. Usually only one or two things are in positions to be grabbed. Also, these machines use a “payout rate”, AKA, many of them will only allow a win every (let’s say) 50 plays. The machine operator sets the rate. Not all are like this but most are. So if you come across a very weak one, stop playing or else you just set up a win for the next person. Also, for THE BIG ONE, many of those giant ones will alow you to press the button again after it drops in order to grip it better. After you have dropped it, click the button again to close the claw where you want it to close. This allows for a better grab and for it not to “stab” the other prizes, resulting in a weaker grab. Prize Locker (Better known as KeyMaster): This game along with many ones similar is 100% rigged. It uses the payout rate mentioned above but 10X worse. However, it is still possible to win. Each row of prizes (typically 3 rows) are set to different payout rates with the easiest to win usually at the bottom (notice in this video that the prizes are better at the top). So the bottom row may be set at a payout rate of 100 plays while the top may be 1,000. How to win: Try each level once. Let go at the right time and then WATCH CLOSELY as it is actually possible to detect if it is due to payout. If it is not ready then the key will move slightly up after you release the button. If it does not move up then it is not ready and you waste your money to play any further. Usually the big prizes are won by people who check their local machines once a month to test each level for a payout. In the past year I have won a Galaxy Tablet, headphones, speakers, xbox one controller, and recently a Nintendo Switch. It pays to be smarter than the machine. Monster Drop: Timing is key! This game can actually be won EVERY TIME and is a favorite of professional arcade players. Pause at the 15:23 of the video. There are small yellow support beams on all 4 corners of the machine, focus on the one in the back left corner. If you drop the ball right as the jackpot passes in front of it, you will likely hit the jackpot in a few attempts as you try to get your timing precise. Big bass wheel: Totally fair game that does not have any payout rates. Fast way to get tickets regardless and is usually moderately priced. I would not recommend doing this as it is morally wrong and may get you in trouble with the employees there, but many times you can actually lift up the glass to touch the wheel and manually stop it where you want (I demonstrate this in one of my videos). Jumpin’ Jackpot (Virtual Jumprope): A great cheat on this game is possible. Why wear yourself out with so much jumping? The increased speeds towards the end get to an almost impossible difficulty for even a skilled jumper. You can actually stand to the side and use only one foot on it to mimic jumping with easier precision. Some people prefer to use their hand even. It’s easy to hit the jackpot this way but you will look pretty stupid as you do it! Those are the tips I have on the games featured here, great work as always BrutalMoose! If anyone has any questions or wants to know about another particular game, let me know and I’m happy to answer! -Gabe

15:05 That's a malfunction, actually. The bar that resets them gets stuck sometimes. Go grab a tech and they can fix that for you next time Also, you're playing wrong. You are supposed to prioritize the red-lit ones, which are double points. For Speed of Light, you get more points per light the faster you go, and lose points if you hit unlit ones, so try to go left to right/right to left instead of just hitting them randomly. Or get a friend to cover half of the field.

It made me excited and I'm looking forward to this job!

Jumping Jackpot is probably my fav game at places like this. It doesn't suck, although you are certainly entitled to your opinion on it :). The trick is the entire width of the mat is the "bottom", which is about 5-6 rows of lights. So when it moves real slow your jumps have to be really high so you don't come down on the mat before the lights are past it. As it speeds up it's easier to clear all 5-6 rows because of the sheer speed, at which point it just becomes a timing game and is pretty winnable. I suppose a lot of these games are like this though, seemingly difficult, but they adhere to some rule set, and learning it is 1/2 the battle.

This is probably one of my favorite videos you've ever done. I've loved crane games/claw machines, ever since I was a kid. I still have a Pikachu plush that my dad won out of one, and in middle school whenever we took trips to the skating rink 90 percent of my time spent there was at the claw machines in their tiny arcade. I personally liked the smaller machines that had candy and smaller toys in them, and you could play until you actually won something. Not sure how common those are anymore.

I worked for an arcade for a year and a half, can confirm that Down The Clown (the clown game mentioned) was indeed broken! The bar that was up is the reset bar, it's supposed to prop the clowns up after they fall down so the player can knock them down again and then prop them up again at the end of the game for the next player. This was a fairly common issue as sometimes the bar would get stuck on the wires or a ball would stop it from returning up right!
