Richard your channel is growing, good job Richard, also i want to say that down here in Texas all my friends are talking about you"in a good way" in fact me a friend went crappie fishing yesterday and was talking about you using dental floss and super glue to kept jig from slipping, i watch only a few fishing shows one of them is Fox sports outdoors with Barry Stokes, i was fishing Eagle Mountain 25 years ago and i saw him there and talked to him for 30 mins, very nice person in fact they show one of my photo on episode #31 Keystone, the show was 2 week ago..you and Barry are my #1 shows.

@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ernie's Adventures! What I do is make a long cast with it when it starts doing that, then I will reel it holding my line with my index finger and thumb. Make several casts like that and it will get the twists out of your line.

Richard, what's your thoughts on jig head color, seems like you fish mostly with plain metal heads
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine7 жыл бұрын
I fish with plain metal heads alot, however when the water has a dindgy color to it i like brighter colors. Because of the high visibility. I am a believer that crappie are sight feeders. Thanks so much for watching Jason!
@yeshuaadoneinu4367 жыл бұрын

@jboat571x97 жыл бұрын
I find that a lot of times I catch a good crappie on the first or second cast at a dock or tree and then don't catch any more. Any ideas on what is up with that?
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine7 жыл бұрын
More often than not, their are large concentrations of fish under docks/trees. However , because the water is so shallow, the fish will get spooked after a couple of fish is caught. If you will move to another area, and allow that area to "rest" you can come back and catch more fish. I would give it 15min rest at the least. Thanks for watching Jboat571 X

Richard Gene, how do you know what color jigs to use and when to change colors?
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine7 жыл бұрын
I go based by the water clarity. Clearer water i use more natural looking colors, something that mimics natural forage. For dirty, or dindgy water clarity I use very bright colors like pink/red/purple. Crappie are mainly sight feeders so the bright colors help in dindgy water. As far as changing the color, I change up when I've caught a few fish and they have slowed up biting. You can catch a few more that way. Thank you for watching William!
@williamdavis86677 жыл бұрын
I sure do love watching your videos. And I do appreciate what you are conveying to us crappie fishermen. Although catching crappies up here in the Cincinnati, Ohio metro area is tougher than most places, and the fact that I don't own a boat. But I still go fishing when I can, because it's gooood for me!
@jb-uw6cf7 жыл бұрын
That was a nice mess. I am definitely gonna try the technique next week when we hit the Alabama. Thanks for the tip and the response. One more question, it was hard to tell on the video but do you use the loop knot when your casting and skipping docks or do you tie a normal knot all the way down onto the eye? Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work!
