Richard, I enjoy watching your videos and others like yours. Ive fished all my life, but now I've become disabled and unable to go fishing. Watching your videos helps me feel like I'm "on the water". Thank you.

Hey Patrick if you are around the Huntsville area and are able I'd be more than happy to take you out fishn. I fish Guntersville and Scottsboro pretty heavily and I fish out of my boat at least 4-6 times a week. Mr.Gene is a legend around these parts not to mention he is the CRAPPIE KING !!!! I'm 45 yrs old and been fishn and huntin my entire life and Mr.Gene is so knowledgeable pertaining to fish,especially Crappie and any type of sun fish.

Patrick, I get my dad out two or three times a week. He's 84. I have to load him in the boat and I've put handrails up for him to get around the boat. I'm lucky to have been able to retire early and take care of him. Fishing and mowing is about all he can do now. Or put new washers in a faucet, but I get all the tools for him. Take Richard up on this if you can. It'll be good for you and him. I see a lot of old folks that use to fish everyday like my dad. They go down to the boat ramp and see how their buddies are doing. They've sold their gear. I wish they had people that could take them out. Oh, My dad this year is starting to let me run the trolling motor. We've got two chairs up front on a deck boat.
@robbyddurham16245 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of the old daily fishermen couldn't stand to not be in control of the boat. I knew my dad would be pissed at me all the time when I'd run the trolling motor. If he'd fished in the back of the boat like me with him for years, he'd understand.

Right off!!! Last time I had my Boy with me, was windy like that. "Son, where is your float?". "I lost it Dad. It hard to see with the waves.". So of coarse I tell him to just real it on in. He starts GRUNTING and HUFFING lol. He is fighting something that had come under the boat and about 20 yards the other side,towards deep water. After about 10 minutes and a breathing treatment (lol) he brought up a Drum about 8 pounds! That was GOOD FER ME! Havent laughed that hard in LOOONG time

He is the ONLY guy on KZbin that actually takes the time to show you and explain what hes using that day. Hes always detailed about jig size, jig color, rod and reel info, what size of line,water depth and temperature. I also wanted to let you know that if you ever wanna go out in the boat with me your more than welcome. I fish Guntersville and Scottsboro 4-6 times a week religiously. Lol. Have a good day buddy.

Love your videos, they have helped my Crappie fishing immensly here in Upstate South Carolina. I grew up in DeKalb county and have many good memories of N/E Alabama. Keep em coming maybe we'll see ya out there one day. God bless. Yours truly, Terry Gibbs. BTW, my best catch at my favorite location was 14" just last week.Slab tail pearl with blue flakes in medium clear water and in the boil of the locks.

Let me first say that this is another interesting, informative, and entertaining video, by none other than RGTFM. The ending was hilarious. When RGTFM yelled and sprayed water on himself, I laughed out loud. I'm not joking! The yell got me. RGTFM is my favorite KZbin channel. Would love to fish with RGTFM for bass and crappie using live shiners. I could be in northern AL in about 4 hours.

Hey there Elmo!! Another great video, and lesson. As soon as the water temps get up a bit here In Ohio, you can bet I’m putting this lesson to work for me on some of the local lakes. Richard, Crappie are strange critters. My ex BIL put in one of those underwater fish light "green eye" things in his private lake. We would just sit out at night on his pier and chat and watch all the fish in the water. After a while, all the fish would parade around in around the light. You could easily see the shapes of the individual species. Crappie where strange. Most species swim "belly down, back skyward". The Crappie would often swim or suspend sideways, upside down, straight up and down. It was like they had no sense of up and down. Just an observation. Also, great video man. The wind did look rough, but you got on them.
