This is how to tie the best CRAPPIE KILLER rig EVER and for only about $.46 each! Crappie can't resist this rig and you will easily catch more crappie on every trip with it.
Tie up your own by going here: goo.gl/7q31ee Pick up some cheap 1/8 oz Maribou jigs from that link, add a pack of small Aberdeen hooks and some 8# fluorocarbon or mono and tie up all you need! You'll be ready for spring with dozens of these great rigs.
Here is the link to a video Fishing with this rig! • Fishing the Best Crapp...
If you like this video, hit that thumbs up button to give it a "Like" and share it with your fishing friends. Don't forget to subscribe for more updates. There is also a video on here using this rig to fill up a stringer. While you're at it, check out my video on "Buffalo Fish". That is one of the best ways to fry up this delicious fish.
You can order jigs, line etc here: amzn.to/2semQpI

Scott, Try tying on your hook first, using a palmar knot, leaving a long tag end. Then thread that tag end back though the hook eye, to hold the hook in an upright position. Now tie the jig on. This is "drop shot" rig but using the jig for the weight.

Great system! A similar system is used in spillways in N. Ms. A road runner jig is tied 1st with a palamor knot and a #2 gold hook is tied on to the tag end about 18" below the road runner. Both systems are super!!

Great video, thanks, I caught 6 keepers first time out, which for me is great. I have made around 150 rigs so far. I love the fact it is very easy and quick to change rigs after losing one on snags. That make fishing a lot easier not having to spend extra time re-rigging. I am going to be making more and playing around with different jigs on the bottom hook. Thanks again for some great help. Tom...

Scott Gregg I want to thank you first and foremost for giving me new ideas. Do you have a video on trolling with stacker rigs and hints and tips? If not I would be glad to share some because not EVERYONE wants to help others and teach them how to catch fish. I do use a Lowrance HDI Elite 7 screen to follow the schools around and catch my daily limits within a few hours I not once ever thought of dropping multiple minnows down and have them at different depths with one rod to get a catch every time. My key to success is going back and forth over the brush and make quick passes and not get a hook snagged cause once you do you have just disturbed the nest and they scatter and you will have to come back to them later that day.
@scottnra
@scottnra 10 жыл бұрын
Hey Brad, go for it! No we don't troll or even drift with it at least not now. We have a couple honey holes in a small lake where we fish for them and we just move around a little when one spot cools off. Love to have the input.

@scottnra

Tony Brown Lake Chesdin is great, as is Kerr Reservoir aka= Buggs island lake. Find the blowdowns along the edges or bridges and you'll fill stringers all day. These stringers all came from a private lake, but we've caught thousands from Buggs Island. Probably the best crappie lake in VA.

Have you ever thought about starting with tying the hook first? After finishing the palomar know you would run the tag end back through the eye of the loop, essentially like a dropshot! It would make the hook naturally stand straight out so you wouldn't have to play with it so much, but anyways this is genius. I'm going to try it next time I go fishing!

It would be nice to know what time of year is best for catching crappie and where to catch them? Around piers, shallow water, deep water, near shore, time of day? Great rig but have no idea when or where to use them.
@scottnra
@scottnra 9 жыл бұрын
Leitha Ingram In VA it seems to be spring. Like April/May. Fishing structure of some kind. Bridges, brush piles, downed trees, sunk Christmas trees etc. Deeper water at first up to about 20' As the water warms they will move into the shallows still around structure.

Not necessarily illegal. You just have be careful and read the regulations. You can't use minnows in major trout areas and you can't transport them from one lake to another. You have to use the minnows where you caught them.

now are you trolling throwing out jigging while reeling in. or using a bobber and popping on the way in.
@scottnra

Mostly letting the rig sit and letting the minnow do the work, but sometimes just slow rolling it back in (with the bobber) and adding a little bounce to it. We get a lot of hits this way.
