I am infinitely glad they finally made a new game instead of yet another remake, those got old after the third one and naturally for the games industry everyone copied the N.Sane style remake to the point of the idea feeling burned out by now. Hopefully the games industry will look at Crash 4 and go "make a true sequel" instead of "make another remake".

Nice to hear that you enjoyed the game. I'm still in the middle of playing it. I can admit that I'm not the best Crash player and I've been dying quite a lot in this game so it's taking me a little longer to get through it but I'm completely blown away by how amazing the presentation of the game is from the art style, updated character models (Even if I'm not the biggest fan of Tawna's redesign lol), and the music. I agree that Toys For Bob just nailed the style and it really does feel like a proper evolution that Naughty Dog would've went for a fourth game if they still were making Crash games. I also agree that we should definitely get another new Crash game only maybe without the Mask gimmick. One thing is for sure though that it's great to have the Orange marsupial back in action after his downward spiral and hopefully the success of this game shows that people want to see these colorful, cartoony styled games because man do we need some more of them. I'd love to see them try a brand new Spyro the Dragon game for sure and while I'm on the fence of a new Jak game or Sly 5 (wasn't too big on Sly 4's narrative), I'd still be open to them if it means we can get a mini renaissance of the cartoon mascot platformer genre. Anyway, nice review~

The original Tawna was an overly sexualized damsel in distress, the new one has more personality to her. Making her an alternate dimension counterpart also makes for a solid explanation why she looks so drastically different.

@@elin111 Yes I'm aware of the alternate dimension thing but I still find the design not all that great. I think it's mostly the hair I don't like. Not that she cut it short but just the streaks, just comes across as "edgy" to me. Again just my own opinion. If it were me, I would've designed her in a similar manner to Lara Croft's newer design giving her a braided or spiky ponytail or something like that lol.

On a casual run, it’s great. Completing it 106%, though, was a nightmare. Whether it would be the hidden boxes in the levels, the N. Sanely Perfect Relics, or those Platinum Relics that force you to go beyond, it was a miserable experience.

Toys for Bob did go overboard with the 100% requirements, those perfect runs were unnecessary. But fortunately the stupid parts of the game are strictly optional.

Great job and I do agree with you on your points. As a diehard Crash fan, I'm glad the series made a great revival. :) I also like a Sly 5 to exist. Also heard of Spider-Man: Miles Morales?

I doubt Naughty Dog would do it because they love Uncharted and Last of Us, and it’s a shame too because there is story potential for a proper Jak 4. Like you could say Gol and Maia come back heavily mutated due to being in the dark eco silo for hundreds of years. Hell Samos even hints that they might come back.

@@crimsondynamo615 or go into more backstory to the dark makers in how they went from Otseals to dark creatures of mass destruction. Or heck, Kleaver and Vegar being teamed up has potential

Gol and Maia were the ones who were the most knowledgeable about Dark Eco and I'm sure they could've found a way to cheat death but would most likely become mutated in the process. Or we could have the gang heading back to Kras City and encountering Rayn who has now become just as ruthless a leader to the city. Lot's of story potential for sure.

@@decadentgamer3108 it feels like wasted potential that after Samos hinted at their return we never hear of Gol and Maia ever again. The sequels never made any mention of those two. You would think with that hint and Gol being the sage of Dark Eco we would get more and incredibly monstrous designs for those two considering the hundreds years gap between the first and second game of them being trapped in silo full of dark eco.

Unfortunately, many of the people who worked on the original games have left Naughty Dog.

Honestly I found cortex to be hard but that may be because none of the bosses give you an aku aku mask. Also as much as I love this game it also makes me swear uncontrollably
