I can't believe I have found this information today Dr Osborne. I couldn't be more grateful to you. I'm 74yrs with a history of extreme anxiety and on /off neural and gut problems to name a few. In my 30's, as a working sculptor I had spent a year up to my elbows in PVA. ... much later on I found out that the main ingredients along with others were a mix of formaldahyde, binding and stripping agents. About 4 months after I had finished my project, there were shooting neural pains throughout my body which lasted for 10 years at least. Over that time my hair was falling and 5 years later I was diagnosed with Alopaecia Universalis .... total body hair loss. Interestingly as it fell I could liken it to bees biting at each hair folicle. Every time I went to a doctor I was given anti depressants and told to go home and rest. In the last few years I was diagnosed as having Primaryhyperparathyroidism by an excellent Dr who has, unfortunately, since retired..... the cause for this dis-ease is unfortunately not known so back to square one but I am now on a keto diet and exercise routine, trying to discern which supplements are necessary to stop my fast growing cognitive and memory decline..... everything is connected. Functional doctoring is the way forward and I Bkess you and others for leading the way. ... many many BLESSINGS.❤❤

My biochemistry prof in the the mid-60s was a student of the man that discovered thiamine. He was on the team that dlscovered pantothenic acid. He told how in WWI the injured French soldiers were found to have fatty livers when cut open. The injured captured German soldiers were cut open and had fine livers because they drank beer made from whole grain barley and other grain which had choline. Whereas the French drank wine and got too little and many therefore had fatty livers.

Eating eggs while watching this. I'm a recent ex-vegan now focusing on adding eggs and fish to my diet. My liver enzymes have been high for years, though I've never had any alcohol in my life, and my doctor had no explanation. I suspect a choline deficiency combined with food intolerances. Been eating 3 eggs and some fish every day for months now, and will soon get another blood test. Hopefully, my levels have improved. Thank you for this video!

Besides for Fight or Flight, sympathetic dominance can also be playing out as Freezing or Fauning. Important to note that when in a sympathetic state, less blood is directed to the digestive tract, which is also why digestive functions are impaired. When it comes to bile: It also activates pancreatic enzymes, stimulates peristalsis, and lubricates the GItract (towards decreasing transit time, and preventing constipation). When stuck in a sympathetic dominant state, peristalsis is suppressed, with eventual result Gastroparesis, leading to constipation; with bouts of diarrhoea (with inability to contain); the latter to prevent auto-intoxication. Doing Coffee Enemas is an excellent tool to use to re-educate the colon to contract properly; this not only to rectify chronic constipation, but CE also improves liver function (including increased Glutathione production, and expulsion of intra-hepatic gallstones), and stimulates the Vagus Nerve towards increasing Vagal Tone.

This is such great info! I just found you and I'm so grateful. I'll add that those of us with slow PEMT genes (both hubby and me) are doubly screwed when it comes to choline because we have more trouble making our own. Egg scramblers are a huge thing in our house. Can't bring ourselves to eat liver, though, so we do capsules. :)

Learning to cook liver is primordial. First sweat onions in porc fat, set aside. In the same pan place a Tbsp of ghee and heat it up on medium heat. Sear liver slices on both sides, no longer than the edges turn browned. Maybe a minute on each side. Retrieve luver slices andcplate them. To the pan add onions, butter dollop and pour a 1/2 cup of Madeira wine. Mix and let alcohol evaporate. Pour the sauce with onions on the plated liver. Serve with broccoli and dill pickle.

@@gracegwozdz8185 I cook liver a lot longer than this, sounds like it's under cooked. I also start onions as you do, then put them back into pan on top liver after I've browned both sides, so liver tastes like onion. Never tried cooking it with wine. Sounds good. I'm 77, been eating it every year of my life since young (I'm farm raised) child. Love it. Thanks.

I started taking phosphatidylcholine a couple of months ago, and by the third month I’m having regular periods… Wondering if this could be related given its action on estrogen and hormone receptors. I could always notice a difference when taking choline , Because I could really feel the stability and mental focus and clarity without any type of excitement or jitters. I’m glad I learned about The citrate version, I’ll give it a try. Does it have the same action on hormones as phosphatidylcholine?

I had a blood transfusion in the hospital for iron deficiency anemia upon revelation to lab work showing it. I am concerned about this and would like to know if this can happen, and if so what test can determine it. Would it cause someone to contract the symptoms of covid or long haul? Thank you.

Some of the earliest models of EMF effects way back in the 60's focused around acetylcholine buildup along nerve axons. Eakin (later Korbel) and Thompson 1965 - Behavioral Effects of Stimulation by UHF Radio Fields "One process that might be implicated is the accumulation of acetylcholine (ACh) in time. This interpretation seems tenable since Gordon [see ZV Gordon and MS Tolgskaya "Studies in Soviet Science - Pathological Effects of Radio Waves (1973)"] (1961) found that UHF fields result in the accumulation of ACh along - nerve fibers and since the behavioral effects found in this experiment are similar to behaviors found in experiments dealing with :he accumulation of ACh. Results from several experiments (Crossman & Mitchell, 1955; Koshtoiancs & Kokina, 1957; Russell, 1954) show that ACh in small concentrations leads to cholinergic hyperactivity, while larger concentrations lead to a decrease in activity. Thus, it is possible that UHF radiation results in a gradual accumulation of ACh through time. During the early stages of radiation, ACh could be present only in small amounts which would account for the greater activity during this time. As ACh accumulates with repeated UHF exposures, activity decreases. The findings from the tests of emotionality and ECS might be related to ACh accumulation as well. Lack of exploratory behavior and increase in responses which might be labeled as emotional are related to ACh accumulation (Rosenzweig, Krech, & Bennett, 1956; Russell, 1954). Latency of ECS is longer and the threshold lower for rats which have high ACh concentrations than for rats which have lower concentrations (Woolley, Rosenzweig, Krech, Bennett, & Timiras, 1960)." Soviet authors also noted that intermittent exposure was the most exhausting and damaging for the organism. They differentiated between the "strong animal" and the "labile animal" in ultimate course with prolonged irradiation. Ultimately though, prolonged irradiation always resulted in net hypoactivity via a "suppression of the higher compartments of the CNS" with the hippocampus (esp CA3 and dentate gyrus), anterior hypothalamus, and reticular formation being most radiosensitive. The offspring of irradiated animals were either smaller and scrawny, or they were obese for a generation or two, before also becoming smaller. Exposure to Wi-Fi signals in rats 15 minutes per day, for 15 days, resulted in up to 70% decrease in ovarian reserves. I imagine exposure in utero during the second trimester would be most damaging for female fertility. (Bakacak 2015 - The effects of electromagnetic fields on the number of ovarian primordial follicles: An experimental study) Henry Lai et al found that both opioid and cholinergic system effects could be blocked with a corticotropin releasing factor blocker. What the heck does any of what you posted here mean? Very difficult to follow. Do you work for a company that writes random posts on YT videos?

@@MartineReed The video topic is choline, and Dr. Osborne brought up wireless devices. My comment is on the connection between electromagnetic fields and the cholinergic systems. The formatting is suboptimal in large part due to that youtube flags and deletes a number of keywords, as well as links. And in part because to be quite honest I've learned to get multiple birds with one stone if I'm going to expend time or energy. So I figure I want to start getting back into this area and refresh my memory from my notes, so I might as well also construct and post something with it. Between the knowledge that few people will ultimately read it, and the chilling effect of knowing this is an off limits area and there is a decent chance youtube is just going to delete what I write anyway, behavior follows. I can't link it directly, but I put a link to a lot of research, bibliographies, and so on done in this area, on my community tab. I started writing what would be a general review of the literature and a breakdown of the history and timelines and so on. Never got it to quite where I wanted, but it exists. It's the only post.

@@Acetyl53 Okay, you’ve caught my attention. I am very concerned about the effects of EMF. Can you provide practical guidance ad to what may be happening and how choline supplementation may help or harm?

I supplement with Niacin. For this reason and to support my BHMT enzyme, I take Betaine TMG. I know that Choline is the substrate to Betaine TMG but I seem to recall seeing a salvage/recycle pathway, where TMG is converted back to Choline. I can't find it now. Is taking Choline redundant, if one is supplementing with TMG?

Perhaps for methylation support purposes, but not if your goal is acetylcholine for neurological and muscle function.

@@DrOsborne I'm trending towards carnivore and in doing so, I've been reducing my Choline supplement but eating more eggs, about 3 per day. I've been tracking my HRV since July and my numbers are getting better and better over the short time that I've changed. Not only is my resting heart rate going down but my total power and HRV are going up. Once leaning towards the sympathetic, I'm almost always on the Para side!

@@DrOsbornejust about to watch video: a couple of the things I am hoping to find is: 1. Is the following true or what can one do if it is true?**citicoline supplies one of the most effective nootropic combos available on the market: choline and cytidine** 2. Whether the Internet is right in saying: **Which choline is best for brain? Choline alfoscerate** and if true, where to get or how to support production/precursors? 3. is the ACTUAL difference between ""Alpha GPC versus CDP-choline/Citicholine that: Alpha GPC specifically supports mainly ACH/Acetylcholine production? Where as CDP-choline/Citicholine supports ACH and Many other things by being/providing precursors (so overall is better for general health and brain health without as much concern about too much ACH in ratio to other neurotransmitters...? 4. The best bulk supplement sources/brands (purity/no other fillers) - specifically for CDP-CHOLINE/Citicholine &/or whatever is THE better form of choline as a supplement. I do realize that eggs are a great source. I am experimenting with the egg allergies that I seem to struggle with by eating ONLY raw yolks and it seems to help, however I suspect that my Achlorhydria and Pancreatic Digestive Enzyme Insufficiency (despite taking Betaine HCL with pepsin and digestive enzymes supplements - would still be helped by taking a supplement) I am also making great strides since adding Hydrolyzed Collagen x3 servings, and therapeutic doses of additional amounts of: Glycine NAC Creatine Taurine Tryptophan Glutamine Citrulline Proline Lysine Tyrosine - all taken with a large amount of water. Then with small amount of food in evening: inositol im Therapeutic Dose. I am 50. Very very likely lifetime: Mold, heavy metal, and likely C PTSD from narcissistic childhood and family, etc slow awakening and distancing over last twenty years until last few years ... Someday soon I hope to have finances to do proper testing and work with doc with experience in such protocols, until then, I am making progress as best and as quick as I can - and as of late it is happening... Any and all information or would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for all your videos and education and work in making things understandable but not watered down!!!
