Remind me to never focus on videos that talk about Japanese films. The amount of claims I got last week for unlisted videos was absurd

Thanks Tom this was never explained so thoroughly and with such clarity. I never really got this at all. Back then James Spader was in a trifecta of ‘perverted movies’ Crash, Secretary and Sex, Lies and Videotape (the first true ‘Indie’ hit) Ted Turner had a high position at the studio and at first refused to give it a theatrical release and you had to rent it or something along those lines.

@@TomTheCurator I don’t watch that The Blacklist at all but when Steve Carrel left The Office and in the Search Party season Finale he was very compelling.

@@TomTheCurator I own the 7” single by The Normal with Warm Leatherette/TV OD but it’s probably not in good shape because I didn’t take good care of them back in the day and it’s not worth that much. Yes, Mr. Kronenberg was sometimes a sick puppy😂😂

You’re right about Sex, Lies and Videotape; it was ‘the first big indie’! I remember there was a small independent theatre and I saw it there! I got to see 91/2 Weeks there too! God, I miss the 80’s and what this town used to be like!! What a shame what has happened to our world...

If I recall correctly, I saw this movie years ago in a free movie night at the college. I walked out thinking what the hell did I just watch? Thank you for answering. 😁

A ha! The old 'sex and violence with a pretext trick'! You won't fool all of us, Dave. I wonder how Elias Koteas was able to keep a straight face with lines like, “The car crash is a fertilisng rather than a destructive event…the liberation of sexual energy..(?)”
