16:07 oh my god. Oh my god. I had thought that the Fantastic Four video analyzing one of my favorite superhero comics said everything I loved about the series. I thought that the Sam & Max video was a respectful look and a seminal video game series that's one of my favorite underrated gems. I even watch the older Batman:TAS and Ultron: What If videos fairly regularly, both as background noise and for their well-written analyses. There are very few KZbinrs with styles and ideas I would put on the same "wavelength" as myself, but B-mask is definitely one of them. But now? I know for a FACT that he's actually living in my head, rent-free, possibly spying on me with satellites. That's me, age 13, at 16:07. I'm Fred. Velma is my sister. We shot that video at a nearby park as a quick project at a sort of summer camp. We shot a few other shorts like it, actually (Magic Popcorn Productions, good lord)! I cannot stress how fucking BUCKWILD it was to be sitting there listening to B-mask talk about how many people have brought Scooby-Doo and the gang to life, and thinking "lol, yeah, I even did that as a kid" and then see a VIDEO OF ME ON-SCREEN. I'm... I'm a little speechless. ...I think I have to go into witness protection now. EDIT: the Valley of Gwangi is one of my father's all-time favorite films. That has nothing to do with anything, but more people need to watch it. I'm going to force him to watch Phantosaur once we're done watching Mandalorian. Also, including Hot Dog Water in the bit about Velma's "batting average". Good stuff! EDIT: ALSO what a great video. Can't believe I didn't say that; both the previous Scooby one and this one are full of love. And perfect for Halloween!

What's New Scooby-Doo was the show I grew up with, I think the biggest impact it had on me in terms of my understanding of the show is an association with Scooby-Doo and traveling the world, which I realised far later wasn't really a thing in earlier iterations. The world travel vibe even became a main staple in a magazine and collectable cards at the time.

Honestly, if you ever DO go into talking about the Scooby-Doo games, I think you're going to need to prepare yourself for the sheer plethora they encompassed over the years: brawlers, platformers (2D and 3D, one being a beginner's Metroidvania), point-and-click adventure games on the computer, the tie-in games for Cyber Chase and Monsters Unleashed, whatever you want to call the Mystery Mayhem game.... It's not exactly Library-Of-Congress levels of material like the rest of the Scooby-Verse, but it's no slouch.

Scooby-Doo mystery for the genesis is pretty fun! Not a fantastic point’ n click, but definitely fun! And it feels like a territory a Scooby-Doo video game should focus more on honestly.

These Scoobyverse videos are some of the best Scooby videos I’ve seen on KZbin, I love the number of different takes on the franchise you cover, as well as how you seem to have an appreciation for most of them in some capacity, the feeling of genuine passion for the series you talk about is why I love a lot of your videos so much. I’ve watched the first video several times now and I’ll probably rewatch this one too sometime. Thanks for the Happy Halloween recommendation, that Be Cool Daphne-like snippet sounds awesome, as a big fan of Be Cool I’m pretty excited. Also yeah I always wondered why the baron guy in Laff-a-Lympics was just no-Dick Dastardly when they already own Dick Dastardly. Even if you never make another Scooby video, you’ve already made what I think are two of the best tributes to Scooby as a series out there, so thank you. And if you ever think you have enough interesting things to talk about in a third video, I look forward to it.

Something I’d be interested in seeing you cover would be the variety of teenage mutant ninja turtle adaptations and how weirdly distinct and bizarre most of the different adaptations are, like even outside of the micheal bay movies tmnt has a shocking amount of unique series and strange crossovers. The one I’d be the most interested in seeing you cover is the 2011 3D animated series mostly due to how bizarre and weird the series gets by the end.
@BMask4 жыл бұрын
You know me and a buddy were talking about exactly that once the video was done. TMNT is another great template series with the same deal, there'd be plenty to talk about. I'm not as big a TMNT fan so I dunno if I'm the right person (seen a lot, but not all), but it's definitely something to think about.
@dayvena81914 жыл бұрын
@@BMask all right I can understand if your not the biggest fan, I just thought it would be an interesting case study. I will say though I do think you should look into the previously mentioned 2011 3D cartoon series because I feel like it’s a good example of how far you can push a series into a completely different direction and have it still be somewhat recognizable. Like I don’t even know if I think it’s good as much as I think it’s fascinating, like splinter “dies” like 5 times in the series before they like actually do it, and the last few episodes of the series are essentially wasteland car adventure styled(I originally wrote mad max but the more I thought about the more it didn’t feel complete accurate). Like even if you only have cursory knowledge of the series I feel like you’ll find yourself somewhat surprised by how deadly serious the series takes instead at times. If you don’t have the time or simply don’t want to, that’s fair, I just figured I’d toss it out there as that series is something i feel like I could write like and entire essay around and why it might be one of the weirder things to come out of the 2010’s
