My man, good video I got one too man, and you can make that thing sound damn good. Especially if you put a boost pedal in front of it, and you can get them things for dirt cheap, and its easy to mod

Had a 212 blue voodoo that i got cheap, crapped out on me and i think it needed new tubes since sound was very low. I couldnt get sound out of it whenit did work. Sold it

The Marshall has a 'bark' you can't replicate with the Crate. Blue Voodoo is more saturated more akin to a Rectifier, so a comparison between those two could be cool.

Open up the volume to around 8 and the high end drops off significantly. Also, make sure you know what type of Low/Mid/High controls that model has: The majority of BV models have active EQ, i.e. boost and cut (12dB for the majority of the line, 15dB for Sammy Hagar's Red Voodoo, and some weird 5dB ones like mine) but there are a couple with passive EQ. Throw a boost up front and an EQ in the loop and you can get a massive range of tones out of it.

Should call the crate the brown doodoo. In all seriousness though it CAN be a good amp. If you’re familiar with the Mayhem albums from 1997 and onward, I heard that the guitarist Rune Eriksen used the blue voodoo for all of them and there’s some great stuff on all those albums, especially wolf lair abyss. It’s definitely unique.

The SL-X came out in 93 & was considered High Gain which it says in the manual. Not Metal gain.
