I don’t put stock in Compuboxing. I think they counted Crawford’s pawing jabs as missed shots when he was just inducing traffic
@BoxingLife
@BoxingLife 3 ай бұрын
@@MrTooEarnestOnline i agree it’s not perfect. But it does give slight idea of the punches thrown and Ianded than nothing. I would prefer we move to something like jabbr ai which is much more accurate. They actually released their stats for the fight and it is quite similar to the compu box numbers.
@Rockstarrclarke
@Rockstarrclarke 3 ай бұрын
Compubox is landed punches vs non landed. It’s an excellent tool to see what was going on. What it doesn’t show is how effective the punches were. That’s the only issue. That - you would have to watch the fight. If a fight lands 5 more punches / power shots on compubox - doesn’t mean he won if the opponent landed the more effective cleaner punches. Boxing is simple - Ring general ship - Style Effective aggression - control Effective punches - the better punches - or effective volume.

No way you can favor Madrimov and those boxing stats are human BS. Bud's punches looked and sounded harder, like shotgun blast and there were a lot more of them. And he wasn't loading up like other fights because of Madrimov's jerky style. Madrimov was fainting more than punching & those bias DAZN commentators... smh. I had it 9 to 3 for Crawford. The only thing Canelo has over Crawford is power. He doesn't have the light feet and the quick in and out movement like the younger Madrimov so I think it will be easier for Bud to outbox Canelo.

how can anyone give Madrimov those early rounds, is beyond me? Madrimov kept feinting, but Crawford wasn't biting on the feints and Crawford's established the jab early which all 3 judges agreed with what I saw on their score card. You can't give a fighter the round when he just feints but doesn't engage. While he kept saying Crawford was trying to adjust pay attention to the jab and body work Crawford started to establish. I like Madrimov, but he wastes so much energy constantly feinting it gives a casual fan the ideal that he's the busier fighter when reality he is just moving his feet, hands, and waist without actually throwing punches. Crawford adjusted by turning southpaw very early taking away his jab and tightening up his defense with a high guard. Madrimov has to get better as an inside fighter although he got my respect with so many limited professional fights. Madrimov usually builds on his work off the jab but without it he was left winging a right hand which sometimes landed. His left hand is actually his most powerful punch which creates a mouse on the side of Crawfords eye, but he barely was able to use the left at all.... Thats the brilliance of Crawford and his team. Madrimov jab was defused, barely through any combinations, no body work, and he was tired in the championship rounds. all of this spells a defeat for anyone who thought this fight was close. My card was 116-112 and I stand on it. 8-4 in rounds

Bud clearly won Madrimov wasn't very active in terms of combinations. Madrimov's awkward and off rhythm style definitely help him. As for Fundora, Tim, Ortiz, Bouachuck, & Jermell I can actually see bud having an easier time with them due the their styles being textbook, Fundora could be more dangerous due to his stature and range so that fight could be very interesting. Hopefully Bud gets another fight before the year is over, I mean he HAS to fight again this year, fighting once a year ain't helping nobody.

Before people here comment Bud know don’t stand a chance with Conelo I wasn’t to give you a boxing lesson. Conelo is 5,7” and a very small guy at 168. He walks in ring around 175-178lbs fight nite. Madrimov is built very similar to Conelo and fights at 154 and walked in ring around 170-173lbs fight nite. Bud walked in ring around 17”-173lbs. Madrimov fought in a higher weight class before and is really big for 154. These are all facts. Now Madrimov has much better foot work and top body movement then Conelo and has very good power and he could go up to 168 and give Conelo a very good fight himself. Bud has better footwork then both of them, better head movement then both of them a king with longer reach and height then both of them. Bud also has better power than Madrimov. So knowing what Conelo weighs fight nite and what Bud weighed fight nite there is only going to be around a 8lb-10lb max difference fight nite. So know we say, Reach-Bud Hight-Bud Footwork-Bud Head movement-Bud Let’s just say for argument boxing skill and IQ-Same Weight fight night-Conelo but not by much. Bud looked aged and hesitant, glad that dog in him got him more active late, but I thought it was too late. Bud is my all time favorite fighter, but Madrimov should've won this one. Madrimov has got to be kicking himself for not going for it. Great discipline, better boxer than I thought, but he should have let it go for a shot at greatness. On the other hand, I hope Crawford gets the Canelo pay day, but he'd have to fight perfect, probably to win that one. He'd also, unfortunately, have had to fight that one 6 or 8 months ago. For his lagacy, I'd rather see him hang it up than get stopped by Canelo at 168. If they grant Crawford some type of PED exemption, it could be the war neither of them has had, but it is just too late for Bud. I'd like to give a healthy "F*CK YOU, you greedy PIECE OF SHIT" to Bob Arum and the other decision makers at Top Rank for their horrible job promoting Terence Crawford. Why did they do more promotion this month than in the whole decade and almost a half they had him. No thanks on the Boots fight, he's ten years younger than Bud. How many of those fights are close once one of them is 37-38 years old.

Madrimov won. I swear everyone’s watching a different fight. Madrimov wasn’t gassed at all in the fight. In the 12th he buzzed Crawford and Bud retreated the rest of the round. To me it’s ridiculous. Crawford never imposed his will all night on a guy who stood in front of him all night. He made Crawford miss all night long and he landed more effective power shots to the head of Crawford. How did Crawford win. He didn’t. This was a gift. I know what I saw. Crawford did not win this fight…and I picked him to win. I thought this guy had no business in the ring with him. But Madrimov controlled the fight. To say otherwise is lunacy.

wouldn’t say an edge but his style is the only one that could come close to beating crawford and it didn’t work. i would say 8-4 crawford and thats being generous to madrimov sadly, i believe madrimov just did too much feinting and i was there in person madrimov’s corner was frustrated with his lack of output in bunches, bud smartly won the close round by throwing combos and punches in bunches giving him a clear win imo

If it was an edge, he would have won. He spent too much time trying to be perky jerky instead of throwing combinations. Close fight, but he didn't win.

I think terrence vs tim tzuyu would be interesting, imo tzuyu should still be champ at 154 , considering the horrid cut vs fundora but nevertheless, i do think terrence could capitalize on tzuyus slower pace style as well.

Screw this Ennis BS. I thought you'd be a little more original than that. When you boxing media gonna stop putting Ennis name on Bud's coattails... Ennis hasn't fought one world champ for one world title.

Madrimov respected the power and counter punching ability too much and didn’t take a risk. This was his best chance at Crawford due to that year layoff. If they rematched in a decent time I think Crawford will make it a one sided fight. Great fight though but now Crawford is getting a chance to fill into the weight and Madrimov wont have a chance now that he got his feet wet.

Madrimov did a lot of nothing. Too much time spent feinting and just moving in and out

As a challenger, Crawford had to be an aggressor. Instead, he just waited to counter in the whole fight... Israil might not win the fight in those judges' score cards, but he definitely exposed that Bud was an average fighter that counter punches only...

No Boxing Life, Crawford is a southpaw he didnt change to southpaw for this fight to counter Madrimov

Well he actually can fight out both stances. He’s not exclusively a southpaw. He clearly fought out the southpaw stance to try neutralise Madrimov from getting off his jab and use his own.
