This tutorial shows one method to do some crawling slime. It features path constrains, space wraps, expression controls and good old fashion modifiers.

Amazingly simple but great, anytime I wanted to do something like this I had like 100 morph modifiers, well done!

Very clever, simple, and unique. Thanks for the amazing tips - and it is so cool to play around with this rolling little blobby friend I've made! Thanks.

Check to make sure the FFD is a child of the Dummy, You can check the track view to view the hierarchy of your screen. When parenting always select the child first and drag the line to the parent.

"z depth rendering" is done in the passes but it is not transparent, it is a luma matte. But this information is easily looked up so please google the question first. I welcome questions if you cant find the answer but send it in a private message so that the videos do not get flooded with questions that do not relate to the videos.

It says "Path*50". Path is the variable I made at 08:30 but that variable outputs a very low number so to make it stronger I multiplied it by 50. Keep scrolling back to 8:00 and make sure you follow the steps it it will be easy.

If you are using Vray, you need to use a Vray Wrapper Material. If you are not using Vray, Use a Shadow Matte Material.

how would you go about adding arms to something like this? my head explodes when i try and think about how you would do it? xd
@KevinHarper3DArtist10 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake, it depends on what you want the arms to do. You might have to use attachment constrains on bones and link them to the surface of the object if you want them to move along with it. If you want the arms to react to the floor, you will have to use attachment constraint on the surface add some boxes to represent the arm bones then add them to mParticles so they dangle and collide with the floor, then if you need to manually animate the arms in one scene you need a separate rig that would allow you to do that.
